A few years ago, I moved to the Valley of the Sun and I decided to go on a Church hunt. I did a yelp search and lo and behold I found Grace. I visited a few other churches was well but Grace just felt at home. It's a bigger church and the services are held in a pretty big two level auditorium. However, the staff and volunteers were really welcoming without being too pushy. The sunday service is lively without trying to hard to make worship feel like some sort of concert. Plus Lead Pastor Des Wadsworth is great speaker. Definitely a good church if you're looking for a mainline Evangelical Christian church. read more

This is a great place to go if you want biblically-based teaching and fellowship. I identify as a fairly liberal young person, but I feel comfortable in this space. People here seem to understand that when Jesus said "love your neighbor," he didn't give any exceptions. They have a very large campus, which initially made me think they might be a "megachurch." While it's a big church, there are many small communities within it. They have a ministry for every stage of life: nursery, kids, middle or high schoolers, young adults, married couples, new parents, older people, and general men's and women's groups. The place doesn't feel like a business. It's a faith community that provides a safe space for followers of Jesus, regardless of their other affiliations. I particularly love the Kardia young adult community. They have a lot of ways to get involved and are very friendly, but there's no pressure to do anything in particular. I love that they serve open communion for all Christians, every week, and I love the music. It's contemporary and high quality. They rotate in new songs every once in a while, but they keep things around for a while and bring in classics so you can be familiar with some things. I enjoy the availability of the leadership. You can actually talk to the people in charge every Sunday. The transparency is great, as is the teaching. Typically, the same lead pastor (Des) speaks, but the leadership will keep the community in touch with what's going on in various niches of the church. I respect the way they operate. read more

The college ministry there is very well organized. They even have their own coffee shop with tables inside their own building.

I love it here because Pastor Des opens the Bible and teaches from scripture. I grew up in a Baptist church and wore tired of being yelled at and feeling worse after church. Hi ! ! Ya'll ! I like to say, I really like this church of Grace, Great sermons & great people that go their . First time I went their they are so kind and so sweet folks ! My Landlord took me there & truthfully I fell in love with Grace Community Church . A while back my old church closed up and I was so lost and something about Grace just,made me at ease & comfy . I'm not a member just yet, But I still like to go their ! For me I always have a great experience at Grace ! What I also love is the Sunday school classes, I really get to know the bible & we have questions & if I don't understand something they help me & If I asked for prayer, they pray for me ! This is a great church that really loves and takes care of their people well! Their pastor, Desmond Wadsworth, really pushes the congregation in a positive direction while allowing the Holy Spirit to have His way on a Sunday morning. I love this group of worshipers. read more

I visited here today and was very pleased with the atmosphere. I felt very welcomed and pretty much "at home" for the most part. I think Grace is the best. I became a Christian when I was 16 and in the six years since I have never been to a better church. The teaching is bible based, the pastors are just a call away, and this church has spent so much time investing in me as a man. I couldn't be more grateful! A ray of Heaven shining on earth. Meant to visit 3 churches in 3 weeks but fell into loving this one. Check out Sunday school it is the best place to meet the community. There is connection center to gently guide you as there are many classes -- the place is bigger than expected from southern street view. Any church focusing on eating together has to be GREAT right? There is a contest about this very topic now (2014)-- to encourage families and fellowship. Men's ministry had a pig roast .. Came here at the suggestion of a friend. I was immediately greeted by younger college kids and middle-agers alike. I was looking for a diverse church that would also appeal to my college kids. The church volunteers called the same week as I filled out the Connection Card. Very pleased with the members and the message. Nice central-east location. Plenty to get involved with. They are not afraid to pray for you and with you when it is appropriate. But also respect some peoples private journey. read more

This WAS the most amazing church I had ever been to. Relevant and approachable. Sadly the elders have driven out the wonderful, compassionate ministers that drew an enormous crowd. I live within walking distance to Grace Community Church and unless they make MAJOR changes. I will not be attending again. Go here if you're feeling closed minded and judgmental. They may just welcome you into the fold. It seems I may not be alone in this assessment. The previously huge and overflowing parking lot is largely unused on Sunday mornings. -In spite of the fact that a chunk of the lot has been re-purposed. Hmmm... read more

The main pastor at Grace presents his sermons with enthusiasm, clarity, humor and grace. He draws from a wide-ranging general knowledge base and extensively quotes from the Bible. The supporting pastors are inspiring as well. The church has gathering spots and lots of small groups, classes, activities, and outreach programs if you want to meet people or help in the community. We have attended Grace since finding it four years ago after moving into the area and highly recommend it. read more
