Said item left there at 5:30 on 31 March. Called An Post Customer Service : They will follow up with Dublin Mail Center. USPS.com tracking says item not yet received. 12 April - USPS.com item not received. An Post Tracking shows 1 entry "31 March Accepted at Drumcondra PO" Called An Post Customer Service : They will follow up with Dublin Mail Center They will call me back with update. (An Post Customer Service can only interact with Dublin Mail Center by email ? ) 13 April - USPS.com item not received. An Post Customer Service have never contacted me by phone despite 4 assurances. An Post lied about finding my mail in the hope I would go away. You live and you learn. Anything important should never be sent by An Post ! The Express Post service An Post advertises is a fraud !

The main reason this review gives four stars is because this post office now remains open at…read morelunchtime - hurrah! It was a bit of a bug bear of mine that it closed for lunch and closed for 1h 15 mins at that. But I eventually realised that they closed the door at 1pm and spent another 15 mins serving the queue that remained inside the door. But that's history now. Any time I use this post office the service is friendly and always super quick. I am indeed a fan.

Overall I am a fan of An Post and have no qualms what so ever with the general running of the An…read morePost Show. However, this particular Post Office lets the side down. Small and smelly I can deal with but nothing puts me off more than bad customer service. What's worse is that it is just one member of staff here that makes the place terrible. If you do have to use this branch then I advise putting on an extra thick skin before you enter and book yourself in for a relaxing massage so you have something to look forward to when you get out..that is of course if you get out alive!

The An Post lobby is impressive, historic, and cavernous, with displays on various stamp and other offerings in front. There's even a special window for the special issue stuff of which I purchased a quality Wizard of Oz/Postal Christmas trinket.

It's a beautiful lobby that looks like it's been restored back to it's original brass and marble fittings. There is a poster in the lobby with a picture of the outside from 1814-1818, "Headquarters of the Irish Post Office for nearly 200 years. Dublin's General Post Office is one of the city's great buildings." The young lady who sold me the stamps was friendly and efficient. The machine took my American credit card easily.
