I truly love the fact my daughter is able to attend this school. I remember doing the walk-through…read more6 years ago. My wife and I were overwhelmed with the passion of the teachers and counselors for the children. My daughter has excelled with all of her classes. Her grades have been outstanding so far and we look forward to what she will accomplish in the future. As for safety here, it's top notch. Everyone has to be buzzed in and show I.D. this was a very important part of our decision making process. I highly recommend for parents looking for a wonderful private school for their kids to attend!

You know, I had a great time here. I spent 13 years here (not in the elementary school, but total)…read more The thing is, this school is designed to make dumb people look smart. The campus is beautiful (see: Carroll House), though the school itself could use some updating. The teachers are adequate, it's just as cliquey as every private school out there, most of the kids have an overinflated sense of entitlement, and the programs (art, music, etc) are pretty much non-existant. The benefits are the small environment--you really get to know everyone in your class, your teachers, principals (which can be good or bad, lol), etc, the close-knit community, the whole God thing (if you're into that), the uniforms (my favorite part of a private school, and I'm not even kidding. I miss those damn things!). If it's your deal, give it a try. Going to the elementary school makes getting into the high school super-easy, and the high school, while a joke, looks good on a college app.

I attended Tyler Heights Elementary. When I was in first grade my teacher Mrs. Brown was very mean…read moreto me. She didn't like the fact that I was left handed. She would force me to write with my right hand which was very hard. Because my writing was bad she humiliated me constantly. She gave me an assignment to write 50x " I will not write with my left hand". Halfway thru it I switched to my left hand. She noticed my slant a left handed person commonly does. She called me stupid and ripped it up and told me now I had to write it 100x. It was very hard and took along time to accomplish. Because I was born to use my left hand my right handed writing was poor. That crazy B Word held me back in the first grade because of my poor handwriting. So, I spent my school years in class with younger students. Mr. Gillhoolie our principal was cool. I remember him dressing up as an Indian( around Thanksgiving) and road a bicycle thru all classrooms making us all laugh. I never got the paddle but heard he was good at it. During the summer they had a nice program for students. It involved indoor activities like crafting and board games. Outside we would play kickball and have relay races. I really loved the school except for that crazy B Word Mrs. Brown. I passed my second time around in first grade because I didn't have a stupidtishious teacher all over my back. In her backward mind she thoughr being left handed was a curse or something like that. Annapolis in a nutshell was a horrible place to learn. When I reached highschool it was a battle zone. I guess if I was sue crazy like others out there I could sue the system. I live in South Florida where are state was named #1 in college education. My children are both right handed, their dad was left handed and remained. He was taught at St. Gregorys a Catholic School in Rome Italy. He was allowed to use his left hand without punishment. He did get a ruler across his hands for being the class clown. Good luck to anyone educated in Annapolis. I still have family and friends in Annapolis and they still have that nasty prejudice thing going on. I'm glad I left for Florida when I was 18. I had the advantage of being around people from other states and countries. If I stayed in Maryland I would be a Trump supporter.
