Which he was very careless with the scissors leaving two thin cuts one on either lip. I feel it was intentional. Awaiting results from biopsy but very upset about the prolonged healing from his carelessness. Or intentional abuse of position being as I was there for after care from sexual abuse. And fear repeated rape and exposures to aids and other stds. Which i made very clear at the visit.

First Appointment went okay. Laura told me to expect to gain 25-35 pounds during pregnancy and…read moreeased my concern that I had gained 5 pounds since finding out I was pregnant. Told Laura I was concerned about postpartum since I was high-risk because of PTSD. It was apparent Laura was not familiar by her questions. Cassie took my blood that first appointment and the bruising lasted three weeks. I had blood work drawn by Diane two weeks after and showed her my arm. Diane was an expert! Second appointment I asked Laura to have someone other than Cassie draw my blood. Laura asked about PTSD, my symptoms and what caused it. As I was telling her my story, she was very disinterested and distracted (my friend even pointed out how disrespectful she appeared). Laura offered to prescribe me pills. I have refused medication for years and alternatively use running 3-6 miles 5 days a week instead. 5 min after Laura left the room, Cassie came in to draw my blood! Did Laura not hear me? I awkwardly tell Cassie what transpired after last blood draw. She apologizes and asks to try my other arm. Says my other choice would be the hospital, with over an hour wait. I allow her to take it and no bruises this time. Third appointment Cassie takes my blood in same arm as second appointment. Two attempts. Two bruises. Laura comes in. Obvious she is in a rush. Looks at my chart. Up 8 pounds and 17 weeks pregnant. Tells me I'm gaining to quickly and states I'm only supposed to gain 15 pounds the entire pregnancy (see first appt). Asks me what my cravings are and tells me to go on low fat, low carb diet the remainder of pregnancy. Tells me I am overweight and she's had 5 kids so she's aware. I have always been heavier. I try explaining this to her but she wasn't having it. I lift and I run 5-6 days a week. Pre pregnancy I was also doing Keto and weighed between 145-152. 5'5" in a size 4/6. Yes on your chart I'm overweight. You're a medical professional and should know better. I included a photo of me at 14 weeks pregnant. She also asked about anti depressants again. Following third appointment, I completed the survey in my email. Andrew followed up with me the next business day. He was very pleasant until I refused to continue care at Lakeview. He discounted my experience by telling me how many women love Laura and her credentials. I understand, that's why I chose Lakeview for my first pregnancy. He said she may have had a bad day. That is unacceptable in my opinion in her field. A Bad day does not allow for insensitivity, disinterested, rushed care. Others may really like her, my experience was different. It was obvious she was not sharing my concern of postpartum or cared to learn about PTSD. Her care was not tailored to her patient, only the sheet of paper she was staring at. Which must have told her to prescribe meds and to have me go on a diet. Office staff was wonderful and always professional.

My new insurance provider did not cover my particular type of BC on their list of preventatives (which per the Affordable Care Act, preventatives are covered without copayment), but Dr. Faircloth ensured me that she would get it figured out as I told her other BCs gave me problems. They submitted the scrip to my pharmacy who said it was being charged at $25. I called my insurance who said my doctor needed to file an appeal that it was for preventative purposes vs for treatment of other medical issues, and it would be covered at no cost. I let Dr. Faircloth's office know that, but I received a call from her nurse saying that they said they would only get it covered, and it's not their problem that it's not being filled as a preventative and they can't do anything (other than suggesting that I switch health insurance providers??? Which thanks for the great suggestion, my employer only gave me one option). So my option is find some doctor who is willing to put in the legwork or pay $300/yr to not get pregnant.

Where do I begin? I was trying to get pregnant for a year…read more I finally got pregnant and went in for an ultrasound. Everything looked healthy and normal. At my second ultrasound (at 10 weeks), the ultrasound tech saw a "second baby" in the image. The doctor confirmed it and they rushed me to the hospital for a "heterotopic pregnancy" believing that the second baby was not in the uterus and needed to be removed ASAP. The doctor got off at 5pm. I went to the hospital and got an MRI. Dr. Daniels said it was just a cyst and not a baby but the radiologists were convinced it was a baby. I asked for another opinion from a specialist and they said there is not one at the hospital and I need to go into surgery for the emergency. When I woke up, I was told there was no additional baby and they removed the cyst which is responsible for creating progesterone to keep me pregnant. It was a misdiagnosis. I had to go into unnecessary surgery in my first trimester and risk a miscarriage of my healthy baby. Not only did I have to miss work to recover but I accumulated over $3500 worth of medical bills after insurance. This is what i hoped to pay on the delivery, not to remove a cyst that they thought was a baby. I expressed my frustration and was told to bring in my medical bills and they would help me out. I brought them in and found out my doctor no longer worked there. The office then agreed to "cover my medical bills due to their mistake." I continued getting medical bills in the mail for 4 months even though every time I called the office to remind them to pay them, they assured me they would take care of them and to "not worry." They said someone would call me back. This happened on a weekly basis and nobody ever called me back. Finally my bills were about to go to collections and so I called several times in one week and had to pretty much force them to call me back. I could never get a hold of anyone and calls were never returned. When they finally called me back, i was told they would not pay my bills, 4 months later, after telling me they would on a weekly basis. The doctors were nice but the experience I had was very lousy. I was most frustrated with the office and how they told me what I wanted to hear but never followed through to pay the bills. I felt extremely deceived and had to deal with this for months. I switched health insurance and doctors and gratefully, never had to go back.
