She took care of me my whole laboring process and was very kind and explained every step in detail. She even got on my bed to help me turn my baby so he'd deliver the correct way. I consistently stay within my window and policy with the shot only mandates a urine test if you are out of your window. It was just a surprise and a bit disappointing for the added inconvenience if I am in my window and doing my yearly's. They don't even have a window to put samples in so you are leaving it out on a shelf with no labeling or clean catch supplies. I hope they reconsider as this makes these appts hard but the location and over all care is good.

He was always thoughtful and always made me feel like my thoughts and feelings were valid. He never rushed through an appointment or told me how to do things with my pregnancy. He was very personable, came in on a Saturday to induce me, and he even brought me a gift (a really cute car seat/nursing cover) after I delivered. If we decide to have a fourth baby, I will look forward to delivering with Dr. Thomas again. I'm pregnant with my third baby, so this isn't my first rodeo. We just moved to Utah a couple months ago and I was really specific with what kind of OB I was looking for: attentive, personable, someone who answers all my questions but also let's me run my own pregnancy the way I want to. I didn't get to meet dr. Thomas on my first visit, which I thought was kind of an impersonal approach to pregnancy. They just had me some in for lab work/a physical. How their practice is spread out is pretty confusing. My first visit, I was on the second floor. The lab is on the third. And my subsequent visits have been on the third floor. There wasn't hardly any direction on my first visits and it left me a little frustrated. And then there's the office staff... I had both of my little kids with my on my first visit. They have a small play area (with no toys) in their waiting area, and my kids are pretty well behaved, but I just got the vibe that they weren't welcome there. We do a Medishare, so we are technically cash patients. My previous OBs office thought this was great because it means they don't have to deal with insurance; but this office makes me feel like I'm an inconvenience every single time I come in. "Sooo you know you have to pay by 36 weeks right..." (yes I am very aware and only 16 weeks. You have my social and my address; if I don't pay it by the time it's due, then by all means, come after me.) "soooo you don't want to make any payments...?" (No, the whole bill will be paid in entirety next month, I've already cleared it with billing.) "soooo you know that you have to pay the ultrasound up front...no, we can't give you a bill before hand...sorry." And then they told me I can't bring my baby into the ultrasound, which I've never heard before and is really inconvenient because now i have to get a babysitter so my husband can come with me. So I haven't had the best experience with them. And then there's the issue with the pencils for the urine sample. Every time I've gone in, their pencils are broken and they just have little remnant pieces they expect you to pick up and use? I've told them several times, they don't even get up to look and replace them. How hard is it to just get a sharpie??? No one wants to use a half inch pencil piece to write their name all wonky on the plastic cup. The medical assistant is very nice and warm and personable and Dr. Thomas seems nice and thorough. I like him as a doctor and am looking forward to delivering with him, but I don't look forward to my office visits just because his front desk staff isn't welcoming and is super condescending.

I went to him based off her recommendation. When I got pregnant I was so excited for our 10 week appointment. We were shocked to learn there was no heartbeat. Dr Young was so caring and empathetic, assuring me that I did nothing wrong and that sometimes miscarriages just happen. He truly could not have had better bedside manner and offered to let us leave through the back when we were ready so that we didn't have to walk through the waiting room of happy expectant moms. He then performed a D&C on me to complete the miscarriage and was so kind throughout the whole process. Fast forward a year later I got pregnant again and he was so kind of helpful throughout the entire pregnancy, always making me feel comfortable and capable. He came to deliver my baby even though he wasn't on call and he does that for all his patients. We now live 30 minutes from his office but I am pregnant again and happily making the drive to continue my care with Dr Young because he truly is the best!

It was great! 2022 - I was not called, texted or sent a reminder card for my annual exam. I was concerned that they lost my information. I am proactive in my health care - I called the office to schedule my annual exam & I learn new information. I am informed that annual exams are no longer necessary. If precious screening is negative - I can be screened every 3 years now. This might be new protocol. I accept this medical advice. I am 53 years old and I have always had OBGyn doctors pre schedule for the follow year annual exam. with post cards, texts and phone calls. it's a sign of the seriousness of this annual exam. additionally- I'm a breast cancer patient so I followed up this year with my oncologist -who insisted that I get an annual GYN exam. My oncologist had not heard of periodic - every 3year-pelvic exam. I called RJWH and made my annual pelvic exam appointment. I told them that my insurance changed. They assured me that they honor my carrier. Today -when I showed up for my appointment -I was told that JRWH does take my insurance- but not my specific plan. I had to go on my insurance portal and find a new OBGyn. Now I am a new OB patient - at a new office and new patient appointments are 3 months out! Note to : Front office- all patients should have insurance verified before appointment. Patients in cancer treatment should be screened.

A few weeks prior to said appointment, I was in the emergency room due to the pain and suspected that one of the endometriomas has burst. The emergency room doctor told me that I MUST see an OB/GYN immediately, so I scheduled with Dr. Colby. Against the recommendation of my GP, my visit to the ER, my ultrasound and MRI results, Dr. Colby dismissed all my symptoms (many which I've experienced for years) and told me to either look into birth control or just take more pain medication. I was ignored when I told him that I'd unsuccessfully tried birth control and that only high dose of pain meds that helped my pain were unsustainable. (The ER doc threatened me within An inch of my life to NEVER take that dosage again) Please don't visit this medical office! They will dismiss your concerns, belittle you in the process and their online payment system doesn't even work.
