A Roman Catholic parish church located a little off from the city center. Ansbach being a Protestant/Lutheran town since the introduction of Reformation especially by George the Pious (cir. 1530), an inconspicuous tower-free church hall was around 1777 as Catholics returned. When the congregation grew out of the building, this church was built.
I understand this structure is not too old in comparison to a couple of massive churches in the city center and by European standard, but the foundation was laid about 175 years ago. The church was named after King Ludwig I who patronized this church.
Interior of the building is somewhat plain compared to other churches, but it is beautiful and provides serene atmosphere for those who visit here. read more
