I came to admire this beautiful historic carousel from the 1920s and decided to hop on for a ride since it costs only $2. If you want more rides, it is $5 for three. All of the carousel animals are intricately hand-carved from wood, and the carousel itself is housed inside a climate controlled environment. There also is a cute little gift shop with some carousel trinkets. This is a very family friend place. In fact, I was the only adult without a child present. There is a private room that can be rented out for a child's birthday party or other similar celebrations. For the adults, it is a unique place to rent out for a photography shoot. If you are looking to indulge in a classic treat, take a ride on the carousel. This attraction is a part of Faust Park so this can be part of a day trip around the different areas of the park. Either way, a quick visit to the St. Louis Carousel is worth your time.

Its an absolutely beautiful carousel. The horses are very detailed and original, great preservation efforts. I hear its from the '20s. And the cost only $2 a ride or $5 for 3, great deal and you get quite a bit of time per ride. I definitely enjoyed it and the kiddo I was with had a blast (2 adults and a child). The young man on the PA system was clearly enjoying his time working at this historic attraction. He was very pleasant and getting the riders into the experience. There are only a couple of things keeping me from giving this 5 stars. First of all would be the lady at the ticket counter. You work at a freaking carousel, how awesome and fun is that? How awesome and more fun would it be if you smiled and acted like you wanted to be there? She definitely didn't greet us as we approached her register and complained about said register and wishing she just had a cash box. Cool, keep it to yourself and tell your boss. The only other thing I didn't love was that I couldn't hear the music when the ride was going. I don't think they were playing their typical music since its Christmas time and it wasn't coming from the organ, it my first time there so I don't know if that's the way it normally is or not. To the people giving this 1 star, really? The rules are posted and clearly communicated, both on site, online and verbally stated. Sorry places have rules and especially places that are preserving a historic attraction and public venue. This place is wonderful, just a few tweaks and it was be perfect. I'll for sure be back again!

What a amazing draw in an already cool park! The St. Louis Carousel is really cool. The history and fun that is wrapped up in the Carousel is fantastic and kids will love it. In a park that already has the butterfly house and some great playgrounds, the Carousel stands on its own. If you are looking for a great place to take the kids, look no further than here. I think they'll enjoy it.

Haven't visited the carousal since I was little girl and it was outdoors then. Still great for all ages! Only $2 per ticket. They even have a nice party room attached which was hosting a kids birthday party when we were there. Definitely a cool yes historical place to stop at!

Exterior. Looks creepy but so cool!

After leaving the Butterfly House across the street, my friend and I couldn't resist checking out the carousel.

We opted for this location as it was less expensive than staying downtown and we could use our Marriott points! First, this place is under construction. Nothing is on the website about this reality. Otherwise we'd have opted for a different locale. There isn't much to be said about that other than the renovations and additions they're making seem to be great. But they aren't doing much to make someone's current stay better despite that reality. We were ensured that we'd get adjoining rooms as we cannot fit our large family in one! We unfortunately were not. After some conversation, they were able to get us rooms adjoined but not the two Queen rooms we had paid for. In either case, we made it work. The breakfast here is your standard reheated bacon, eggs, and fruit. Nothing special. The coffee was actually pretty decent! But they don't have it out throughout the day like lost. There is a very small pool that I have great concerns about considering they're adding an entire hotel to the space. The capacity is 16 people. There is definite room for improvement and an opportunity for more stars here.
