I came to admire this beautiful historic carousel from the 1920s and decided to hop on for a ride since it costs only $2. If you want more rides, it is $5 for three. All of the carousel animals are intricately hand-carved from wood, and the carousel itself is housed inside a climate controlled environment. There also is a cute little gift shop with some carousel trinkets. This is a very family friend place. In fact, I was the only adult without a child present. There is a private room that can be rented out for a child's birthday party or other similar celebrations. For the adults, it is a unique place to rent out for a photography shoot. If you are looking to indulge in a classic treat, take a ride on the carousel. This attraction is a part of Faust Park so this can be part of a day trip around the different areas of the park. Either way, a quick visit to the St. Louis Carousel is worth your time.

Its an absolutely beautiful carousel. The horses are very detailed and original, great preservation efforts. I hear its from the '20s. And the cost only $2 a ride or $5 for 3, great deal and you get quite a bit of time per ride. I definitely enjoyed it and the kiddo I was with had a blast (2 adults and a child). The young man on the PA system was clearly enjoying his time working at this historic attraction. He was very pleasant and getting the riders into the experience. There are only a couple of things keeping me from giving this 5 stars. First of all would be the lady at the ticket counter. You work at a freaking carousel, how awesome and fun is that? How awesome and more fun would it be if you smiled and acted like you wanted to be there? She definitely didn't greet us as we approached her register and complained about said register and wishing she just had a cash box. Cool, keep it to yourself and tell your boss. The only other thing I didn't love was that I couldn't hear the music when the ride was going. I don't think they were playing their typical music since its Christmas time and it wasn't coming from the organ, it my first time there so I don't know if that's the way it normally is or not. To the people giving this 1 star, really? The rules are posted and clearly communicated, both on site, online and verbally stated. Sorry places have rules and especially places that are preserving a historic attraction and public venue. This place is wonderful, just a few tweaks and it was be perfect. I'll for sure be back again!

What a amazing draw in an already cool park! The St. Louis Carousel is really cool. The history and fun that is wrapped up in the Carousel is fantastic and kids will love it. In a park that already has the butterfly house and some great playgrounds, the Carousel stands on its own. If you are looking for a great place to take the kids, look no further than here. I think they'll enjoy it.

Haven't visited the carousal since I was little girl and it was outdoors then. Still great for all ages! Only $2 per ticket. They even have a nice party room attached which was hosting a kids birthday party when we were there. Definitely a cool yes historical place to stop at!

Exterior. Looks creepy but so cool!

After leaving the Butterfly House across the street, my friend and I couldn't resist checking out the carousel.

Even though it was a…read morelittle slick on the downhill with all the leaves on the ground, the trail was well-maintained. This trail is a linear trail so you're either going to do an out and back or your can opt to walk around the rest of the park via sidewalks and road. It is labeled as a black diamond but I would call it a "Missouri black diamond." The hills can be steep for some but the trail is plenty wide enough to step to the side and catch your breath, if you need.

Subject: Request for Date Change - Faust Park Reservation (04/04/26)…read more I understand and respect that policies and regulations are in place for a reason. However, I am respectfully requesting that an exception be considered in our situation. Our family hosts an annual Easter event each year at Faust Park, and we currently have a reservation scheduled for April 4, 2026. Unfortunately, the forecast is showing a 95% chance of rain for that day, which would significantly impact our ability to safely and comfortably host our gathering. We have already begun exploring alternative options, including moving the event to a family member's home, but this presents challenges given the size of our gathering. Instead of canceling outright, we reached out to request a date change to August 8, 2026, which we understand is available. We were informed that changes or refunds require a 30-day notice. However, it is difficult to predict severe weather conditions that far in advance. Our request is not to cancel without cause, but simply to move our reservation to another available date so we can continue to use and support your facility. As returning customers, we value hosting our event at Faust Park and were hoping there might be some flexibility under these unforeseen circumstances. We sincerely hope a reasonable solution can be reached. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Lashawn Lee

I realize this is mostly for the kiddos, but I am such a big kid and love this experience just as much (if not more)! Pro Tip: arrive in your cute pajamas (and match with your group/family) to really experience the polar express in style! They decorate the space so well and provide such a holiday experience or everyone! Before you line up to board your train, you can explore a little bit and the photo ops are just great! They have a station to write a litter to Santa and they also have some nice coloring pages with crayons for the kiddos to play with while waiting. When it's time to board, the conductor makes an announcement and gets everyone lined up. While waiting to board, the conductor has so many fun activities for the crowd to do and really hypes everyone up! By the time you get on board, you are really feeling the energy from the workers. When you are seated, you have a cookie waiting for you at your table and if you ordered the first class tickets, you will also have a nice hot chocolate mug with a tote bag to carry them in. They really make this experience so magical and it's fun to play pretend. They serve hot hot hot chocolate while riding to the North Pole and they read you the "polar express" book while walking up and down the train cart to show the pages/pictures while reading. Once you get to the North Pole, you get to look at how pretty it is and then the one and only Santa gets on board with you! He passes our bells and talks with everyone on board - all of the Santa's I have interacted with are really good at being Santa and staying in character. They are so jolly! The conductor makes their way around your train car and collects your "ticket" and then they make a fun hole punching design (just like the book/movie)! It's quite a fun time! Everything has been great and I am so glad I have been able to visit! Christmas is such a fun time of year and I am so glad this polar express train ride exists!
