A medical emergency is defined as "A medical emergency is a health condition or situation that…read moreneeds immediate medical attention." Immediate is defined as "occurring, acting, or accomplished without loss or interval of time." My wife's visit to the emergency room makes no sense to me. Her primary care physician's nurse told her to make an appointment with a doctor (with first available appointment in 4 days), or go to the ER. We chose the ER, but, not before sending me to the gym to exercise, so that she could fix her hair. I understand the ER has more equipment than doctor's office, and even urgent care. It seemed wrong to go to the ER when it was not an emergency. St. Jude ER was vastly different from the ER in Canada that we just visited, where it was a real emergency. We showed up at 5PM and registered. The triage nurse saw us almost immediately. We saw the doctor within an hour. The doctor followed up on the care that my wife received in Canada and ordered a CT scan and some bloodwork. Everyone that we interacted with was nice and professional. They all knew what their job was. I'll take this over universal healthcare in Canada any day where it took 6 hours just to be triaged! Even though we spent four hours at the ER, the time went by quickly because the the process here at St. Jude is just so much better. It was a good experience. I don't want or need to experience them any more. Hopefully, I will never come back.

The worst ER room. If you need to be seen fast, good luck! Even if your dying in the waiting room…read morethey will not see you sooner Took a total of 7 hours to just be seen, a couple test, and results. Beyond slow because they said not enough doctors and too many patients. It honestly wasn't even that busy. They're just not staffing enough doctors or doctors are quitting/not coming in on weekends I never actually saw a dr the whole time, only the PA. So the $500 copay on top of other bills is a waste. They also gave me more unnecessary tests to charge more. Be cautious of this Saw a roach running around in the waiting room and the maintenance guy laughed and squished it and threw it in the trash far away. He didn't want to get it. This hospital is filthy. Dirty by beyond. How do you expect to help sick patients with a dirty hospital. Floors black, vents full of dust and allergies. I'm always seen in the basement floor. Even if they're not busy they stick you down there put a curtain and ignore you until they see everyone else first on the upper levels. Nurses are chatting about Starbucks and who knows what instead of doing their jobs. I've seen urine samples left, people's paperwork on the floor, overall a horrible experience They don't do thorough tests to see what's causing your issue. Only to treat you from an emergency (to not die) then they send you home and say follow up with your dr. Good luck Ridiculous. And they raised healthcare this year by 25% higher copays and worse treatment. At this rate it's better to look into moving states where they actually care about you or going to another hospital

I also want to give a review for PA Carol Kwak she has amazing bedside manner she does grade it her job. I'm feeling 100% better today because of her and I just want to thank this urgent care that I didn't have to go to the hospital and sit there for eight hours. I was in and out of this place in one hour great job guys. I hope we never lose this urgent care it's outstanding.

This was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had at an urgent care…read more I had been dealing with shingles for a little over six days and had been prescribed Valtrex beforehand. I woke up from a fever nap with significant ear pain, redness, and small lumps around my ear, which was concerning to me because I was worried the infection may have involved my ear. That was the primary reason I decided to visit urgent care. The nurse was professional and completed the usual intake, including taking my blood pressure and asking basic questions. Unfortunately, my experience with the physician was very different. When the doctor came in, he asked why I was there. I explained that I had shingles and that my main concern was the new ear pain and soreness. He asked me to lift my shirt to look at the rash and simply responded, "Yup, good ole shingles." He did not ask when my symptoms had started, how they had progressed, or many of the other questions I would have expected during an evaluation. When I specifically brought up my ear pain, his response was simply, "Unrelated." I was then given a packet of recommendations and a prescription for the generic version of the medication I was already taking. The doctor did not take the time to explain the recommendations or discuss why prescribing essentially the same medication was necessary. I also explained that I had been bedridden for approximately four days because of my symptoms, but I did not feel that this was meaningfully addressed. I asked for a doctor's note for the days of work I had missed. The doctor said he could provide one, but only beginning on the date of my visit. I understood that limitation. I then asked for his medical opinion regarding when it would be appropriate for me to return to work. His response was essentially, "You tell me when you want to go back." That was extremely frustrating. As the medical professional evaluating me, I was looking to him for guidance about when it would be medically appropriate and safe for me to return to work. I paid $165 out of pocket for this visit. I left feeling like I had received very little information or guidance for the money I had spent, and I was still concerned about the ear pain that had prompted me to seek care in the first place. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the written information I was given specifically stated to seek medical attention right away if experiencing ear pain or ringing in the ear. This directly conflicted with what I had been told during the appointment--that my ear pain was "unrelated." I understand that urgent care visits can be brief and that physicians are busy. However, I expected at minimum to have my primary concerns properly evaluated, to have my questions answered, and to receive some guidance regarding what symptoms I should monitor and when I should seek additional care. I ultimately left the clinic more concerned than when I arrived and am now considering going to another urgent care to have my ear properly evaluated. Since I am paying out of pocket, having to pay for another visit is especially frustrating. The icing on the cake was I had to go to the Ralph's located in the same plaza since I've been bedridden. seeing the doctor walk into the same Ralph's a minute after me reassured he seemed to rush me out just so he could take a lunch. I can only speak to my own experience, and perhaps other providers at this location offer a different level of care. However, based on my experience with this particular visit, I was extremely disappointed and would not return to this provider.

Plenty of patient parking…read more Clean building/office. There are different departments in this building. Lots of patient seating area in Suite 200. Easy to check-in. Have to check in 15 min before appointment. And then wait 10-15 min after your appointment is when they call you. While the assistant takes your weight and do the health history questionnaire, you have to wait more time for the doctor to come in your room. Appointment at 11:40, came there 11:15, they called me 11:55 and then waited for doctor in the room for around 12:15. Bring your own water bottle; they don't have water fountains or water for patients to drink while you wait. They don't have walk ins for lab anymore. I fasted cuz I wanted to do lab after doctors appt. Have to be appointment only now. St. Jude providence sold their lab to LabCorp.

This year, I changed my PCP from Jennifer Lu, MD to Angelina Sidharta MD. Since then, this becomes miserable experience with St.Jude. The 1st time, there's an opening and I scheduled appointments since my leg was in pain. In the morning of the appointment, they called me if they need to cancel my appointment and reschedule. The been calling me since then to reschedule. How convenient for them! Today, they called me again. My husband and I have doctor appointments tomorrow and only within 24hrs they called and mentioned for my husband insurance if not assigned to Dr. Sidharta and need to reached if I don't have registrations changed notification from his insurance. I'm at work and this makes me crazy since I'm not able to work because of this whole situation. Only notified patient within 24hrs. How very convenient for them. The assistant name is Josiah, the one kept calling me. St. jude, I know you can do better.

I'm so glad I found this place! I hadn't had a primary care doctor in over 10 years, and even…read morebefore that, I only had one for about three years. I've always had trust issues with traditional healthcare. Too often, it feels like the focus is on following protocols and prescribing medications rather than understanding the root cause of health problems. I see more and more people struggling with their health despite regularly seeing doctors. Many talk about preventive care, but I've rarely seen it truly put into practice. I've always been passionate about keeping up with the latest medical research, scientific discoveries, and advancements in functional and preventive medicine. I wanted a doctor who was open-minded, looked beyond conventional approaches, and focused on optimizing health rather than simply treating illness. Dr. Matisse offers exactly the kind of care I've been searching for, and at a surprisingly affordable price. Similar practices can cost thousands of dollars a month, making this level of personalized care inaccessible to many people. My first meeting with Dr. Marissa was music to my ears. She spoke about modern approaches to healthcare, the importance of understanding the body as a whole, and using deeper testing and research to identify potential issues before they become serious problems. For the first time, I felt like I was having a conversation with someone who shared my curiosity about health and understood the kind of care I had been looking for all these years. What impressed me most was her willingness to listen, think beyond the standard approach, and have an actual conversation rather than simply rush through an appointment. It's refreshing to find a practice that embraces modern medicine, prevention, and long-term health without charging an outrageous premium. I'm still early in my journey with them, but my first impression has been excellent. I'm genuinely excited to finally have a primary care doctor again, and even more excited that it's someone whose approach to healthcare aligns with what I've believed in for years. I hope more medical practices eventually move in this direction. Healthcare shouldn't just be about managing disease. It should be about understanding our bodies, preventing problems, and helping people live healthier, longer lives.

I had been in the market for medical insurance through Covered CA but the cheapest one I could…read morefind, that also allowed me to go to the doctors I had been going to for years, was a bit expensive. I decided to look into other options and did a search for places I could pay out of pocket. When I lived in Mexico, I had been using the services at a local hospital, paying a monthly membership fee for their services so imagine my surprise when I found out that the exact same system existed here. That was when I found Dr. Marisse so I booked an appointment. I found her originally on Zocdoc and the nearest appointment was in a month and a half. Within a day of making the appointment, I was called by the office to Nurse Shawna who wanted to make sure that I knew that all appointments needed a preliminary chat with the Doc, after which I could book my appointment. thanked me for letting her know that the next available appointment was that far away. It turned out there was a mix-up and that she did have more immediate appointments available. There is plenty of parking, as it is in shared parking lot with other businesses. However, there are two buildings with the same building number but with different locale numbers. Upper Echelon is in the building nearest to the AAA and the Farmer Boys. At the appointment, everything was clearly explained and we went over a sort of plan of attack, with regards to my concerns and what I needed to do. I appreciated paying less per month for the membership, which includes as many appointments as you want. The lab work and the tests are at wholesale prices so even with the membership fee and registration, all of this was cheaper than the plan I was going to get with insurance. What I appreciated was the quickness of getting an appointment. I have always hated waiting a few weeks, as a new patient, before actually being seen but I was able to book this within a week of the appointment. It was a week because their availability interfered with my work hours. Otherwise, I would have been seen earlier. All in all, it is pretty convenient and a wallet-friendly option. After that first appointment and the lab results came in, Dr. Marisse wrote a VERY long email detailing every point of concern. Which I appreciated because I went for answers and I was getting them. If you need a straightforward person to tell you what you need to be doing and not someone who has to be on your ass every step of the way, this is the ideal option. I would say the ONLY con is that they do not have appointments during the weekends. And since I work during the week, I have to take time off to go to an appointment.
