Great office. Honest. I had $4000 treatment plan from corporate office. Was told much listed not needed.

Cancelled her appointment without telling her, still sent the appointment confirmation, and then was rude and offensive to her character when they could have skipped all the theatrics and just.. called... The man dentist also proudly hates homeless people. Mid-checkup, he was saying to his coworker while inside my mouth "What a bunch of low-life's, they have the easiest job ever". They don't deserve your time and most definitely not your money. I would not recommend anyone goes here.

They knew I was coming in for cancelled appt and set me up. Rude unprofessional front desk staff, Did I personally receive any mail or phone calls? No. They used an old phone number of my husband. Never made contact. Just the "But we tried...." Grifters. Shysters. It's funny, I'd always need dental work when they carried dental insurance and when they dropped our insurance carrier, my teeth haven't had a cavity since and one they were going to repair, disappeared! Not a good faith establishment.

She would not provide my insurance coverage information which they required for my dental work. Eventually I just found a dentist who was willing to work with me and not against me. Would not recommend her to anyone. Therefore zero rating!!!! This software program would not allow me to give zero stars.

Examples: I had a partial bridge (prepared by another dentist) break off (as a result of a filling she did which ended up destroying the tooth). I went to Jacobs, and she said something like, "Well, nobody sees back there." She did ask me if it hurt, and I said no. But no service. Another example: a part of a filling broke off of a tooth, upper left side, and I asked her again for help: no dice. She said it wasn't possible to repair. Another example: I asked her if she could "do something" about a cracked upper tooth. "Oh, that's cosmetic isn't it?" Refused to do anything. Another example: She prepared a bridge and didn't offer suggestions about the color. When the bridge came back, the replaced teeth were too light and really stood out. Her response: "Well, I guess you'll just have to live with it." She also refused to a cleaning. Those are the main points, but my overall experience with her was so atrocious that it affects me every time I have to look in a mirror. -- Rose J.

The smells of the office, the pain, the condescending remarks about my teeth, the anxiety about where the money will come from. Anything and everything about even considering visiting a dentist makes me want to take a double dose of xanax. After visiting a few dentist with no such luck in the past 2 years I asked my doctor who I trust immensely if he had any recommendations and he gave me Dr. Zora Hanko's name/number. It took me a few days to finally call but when I did I was surprised that i was almost immediately put at ease by the incredibly kind receptionist. I briefly told her my concerns and the level of anxiety I generally have and she actually listened, took note and genuinely seemed to care. This morning I woke up 4 hours before my appointment due to an already increased build up of anxiety. It turns out none of this anxiety was necessary. After sitting in the waiting room for only about 5 minutes I was brought back to the exam room by the dental hygienist. I can not remember her name but she was so sweet and kind. Then Dr. Hanko came in and since she knew how anxious I was, instead of getting straight to work she sat down next to the chair and asked me to tell her about my self, what my concerns with my teeth are and what she could do to make my appointments easier. When I was giving her my information she listened, asked questions when necessary and not once made me feel judged. Then she asked if she could take a look in my mouth. Part way through her examining my teeth I realized for the first time ever I was sitting in a dentist chair and NOT shaking with anxiety. I left the appointment with a plan of action for my crazy teeth, another appointment and absolutely no anxiety in sight. Best. Feeling. Ever.

I hate going for a filling and having my face numb for the rest of the day, so she uses a special anesthetic on me that wears off just about the time I'm leaving the office. Sometimes she is able to numb just the single tooth or area that she's going to work on. It's great. I have been seeing her for many years now, and since I became chronically ill, she has been very empathetic, accommodating to my needs, and really goes the extra mile to make it possible for me to keep up with my dental care even though it's difficult for me to leave the house. (No, she doesn't make house calls, darn). I have never been particularly anxious about seeing a dentist but that is especially true of her and all her staff. I love Dr. Hanko! So relaxing!

They also have an online appointment form (which I received a call-back within the same day!) The inside of the office is super clean, welcoming, and professional. The front staff is very nice as well. I loved the two different hygienists there (Debbie and Linda). Both times, I felt like my routine cleaning were through and comfortable. They take the time to let you know what they're doing and educate you on HOW to maintain good hygiene tips. I've learned so much from just one visit. They also give you little goodie bags with a toothbrush, floss and tooth paste after each cleaning visit. Although the time to get into the back is virtually no wait time, when you're seated in the operation chair it can take anywhere from 15 min to over 30 minutes to get actually start the appointment. Last time, I was waiting in the back for 30 minutes. There are two doctors in this facility and most of the time, the doctors are working on multiple patients at once. The dental assistants seem to be attentive and also friendly. I will say that both doctors are little more stoic and down to business. Since my visits were just to get fillings, I can only speak to that. The doctors are very attentive to when they think you're experiencing pain so that they can give you more numbing to make you more comfortable. Like most dental offices, they are kind of pushy to get you to commit to another appointment (cleaning or otherwise). Not sure how other dental care costs compare but one filling without insurance racks up to $200, and with my insurance I still had to pay $77 out of pocket (something about deductibles). Last time, two cavities cost me $82. Tip: They will schedule a cleaning and not leave time for you to see the doctor! Make sure you make it clear that you want both since they book their appointments for cleaning and other visits separately. I had to learn the hard way and have to come back for a follow up visit TWICE... (why I'm taking away 1 star).
