Lilly, the owner of this store is one of the many reasons I continuously come back for my dry cleaning! As a woman, one of the most heartbreaking things (even worst than a breakup in my opinion) we endure is seeing a stain on a blouse that we paid an insane amount of money on. Sure, we can lie to ourselves and say the silk blouse we were eyeing was on sale at Saks (it wasn't, but we look gorgeous in it so deal with it) and it was going to be out of stock, thus somehow we didn't stop our hand from grabbing our wallet and walking out of Saks with a new blouse and possibly $200.00 poorer, and now a stain. A. STAIN. THAT. CANNOT. BE. WASHED. Lo' and behold, this is where this amazing owner aka my savior arrives. She goes above and beyond for me and my wardrobe. I somehow have an obsession with white button downs and a love affair with silk so if any stains happen, I'm the first to call her and she, like a doctor being paged to see a patient that is coding out of the blue, Lilly takes one look at whatever stain and assures me it'll be gone and giving me an estimate of when to come pick it up. Her prices are so reasonable and with the amazing work and care that goes into business, I'm surprised she doesn't charge more. I only go to her store and don't plan going elsewhere! read more

St James Cleaners - Perfectly pressed and stain free! - Laundry Services Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The best cleaners I have ever had in my long life. The owner responds candidly and professionally to any special need. She alerts customers to concerns about damage or difficulty but always offers to help. The normal cleaning and laundry are prompt, perfect, and odorless. St. James Cleaners is a wonderful establishment! Herbert K. read more

I stopped in to see if they could take my dress in since I heard good things about this place. The lady at the front desk told me that what I wanted done was "too much" and she did not feel like doing it. I found is very unprofessional that she that. read more

Very fairly priced, owner is very kind and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Has gotten extremely difficult stains out of several of my garments, even offering to redo them for free if it is not perfect. Everything is always done in a timely manner, can't recommend enough! read more

I don't use the dry cleaners as often these days because of COVID but I was pleasantly surprised to see that Ellie was back for dry cleaning services and also had a great selection of masks! Trying to support local businesses during these times. read more

Dry cleaning services are fine but very disappointed in the turn around time for alterations. The starting point is a week for hemming a single pair of pants ???? I recommend going somewhere else for clothing alterations. I guess they outsource the alterations. But to where? Must be out of the country given the lengthy turnaround times. BK read more

I don't often get things dry cleaned, but had a few back-to-back interviews and needed to freshen up my suit in between. A friend recommended this place to me, and it's super close to my apartment, so I stopped by. The suit had some deodorant stains that were difficult to clean after the first wash. The owner, however, was able to send the suit back for a second cleaning to make it look brand new! I was super happy with the results, but I had to dock a star because I was not told that the suit had been sent back until I stopped in to pick it up. A heads-up would have been nice for my planning. read more

I love this place. They had a pretty quick turnaround and all of my items came back great! The woman at the front was very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you are in need of a dry cleaner. read more

Saint James does wonderful dry cleaning as well as repair work. I do not send my cleaning anywhere else, once I found out about them! The repair work, when I have requested that they do that, is done so well, I cannot tell that a garment was repaired. read more

Great service and now because of the virus, great mask selection! I'd recommend this place to anyone in the city

Wonderful job helping me remove tough pen stains from a white jacket. Owner went above and beyond to rescue the piece. Thank you, St. James Cleaners!! read more

Such a wonderful customer service, I highly recommend. Lilly the owner, is very friendly, fully dedicated to provide the best dry cleaner and tailor services around Center City. I have tried many others but this is is the best. Fast and extremely professional. read more

I got dry cleaning done, as well as a tailoring job done on a pair of suit pants. When I dropped off the clothes, I was shown on the receipt where the tailoring cost should have been. It read "$0.00" and the woman said "no charge". I thought this was nice, since her charge of $6 per garment seemed to be on the high end. I was told they would be ready by the weekend, but they were not. I called back midway through the following week and the pants were still not ready. 5 days after the original date I should have been picking them up (and after a number of phone calls) my pants were ready. I went to pick them up only to find out that "no charge" actually means, "I don't know what the charge will be" (it turned out to be $25, which we eventually negotiated down a bit due to the lateness). Maybe as a dry cleaning service this place is more reliable, but I didn't have a great experience and will try somewhere else next time. read more

They are amazing. And have supported the community for over forty years. The comment below about the cops is false and someone is deliberately trying to hurt them. They have supported the cops for years and I know for a fact they love them and have done so much work for them. Why someone would try to lie and hurt them is beyond especially in this time. The cops love Melanie and Peter and have been using them for years. Scandal and lies are terrible thing for business owners that work their ass off. Give stars all around. read more

How do we get our clothes back that they had before the business shut down? I love Ellie, But am unable to reach them via phone and I have a ton of clothes that are sitting there that I have no access to read more

Unfriendly, expensive, sometimes doesn't listen to instructions. What else more do I need to say?

I've been bringing my shirts / suits to this place for more than a year - always impeccable, timely, and reasonably priced. Awesome customer service - I'm often tight on schedule as I travel a lot, but I've always got my stuff back on time (and the owner even follows up with me on my cell on a regular basis!) read more

Ali (store owner) is wonderful, I have been going to her for years and just saw this very sad 1 star review. I trust her 100% with the cloths and bedding I give her which is not always the case with cleaners. Definitely worth giving a try! read more

I have moved out of the immediate neighborhood, but decided to keep my business here. I'm rather particular about my clothing, so I didn't feel a few extra blocks was worth rocking the boat. I've never been disappointed with the customer service, small repair work or standard cleaning. They have also delivered whenever I requested a specific pick up date. read more

I use this cleaner all the time. Always very reliable and my stuff is ready on time, for a reasonable price. The tailoring is good as well, I have had a few pairs of pants hemmed up including a rush job and they were all perfect. read more

I've been using them for 5 years and have had nothing but great service. Always on time, great quality, fair prices, friendly smile. This is exactly what a dry cleaner should be! read more

The lady in charge is nice but awful at her job. She regularly forgets instructions, causes delays after promising a certain delivery time, and then charges for it anyway. Gave her my jacket to repair and told her it didn't need dry-cleaning; she "fixed" some part of it that wasn't torn, left the torn part as it was, and then dry-cleaned it and told me she had to charge me for that too. read more

Great customer service. Very professional. Only Dry Cleaning Service I will use in Philadelphia!!!
