Lying right at the very beginning of Great Western Road, hidden away by literally everything that surrounds it, the little station that could whirs and trundles away, inhaling and spewing out busy people all day long. It's a bit of a shithole in reality, but if you take the underpass to reach it, you are treated to artwork, ironically from a GSA student who's never heard of art before. Seriously though, if you like looking at macroscopic images of algae, then you will love this underpass. There's actual algae inside the station, which is a nice continuation of this person's art. Also there's a rough, deep odour of Sulphur on a good day, but that could just be the staff. Otherwise, yeah, it's a subway station. The 70's chocolate/nicotine/orange colour scheme remains, which I actually like, so if you want a dose of nostalgia then get off the train here and stare at the walls. Besides this, there's not too much of interest about. You've got off one stop before the good stuff at Kelvinbridge, and two stops before Buchanan Street, so you might as well get back on the train if you don't live here. On a different note, there used to be a little homeless guy called Steph that sat in the underpass. I gave him my hat one time, and he had a shot of my skateboard and fell over. I'm almost certain he's dead now. read more
