My wife has been enrolled in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the Long Island University…read morefor the last few years. Due to pregnancy-related health issues, she's had to withdraw from class last summer and it was agreed with the school that she would be allowed to drop without any issues. For the last half of the year, she's been getting notices that her tuition is overdue. She's reached out and talked to Jasmine B and Julien G to make sure that her withdrawal is properly reflected. They have neither been responsive nor at all responsible in making sure that the tuition payment requests are cancelled. On top of the constant notices that remind her that she needs to pay (which was agreed that she wouldn't have to) she is now worried that her account may get locked, preventing her from registering for classes next semester. The lack of communication and responsibility from the school is truly mind-blowing. This is academic bureaucracy at it's worst. Since her emails do not seem important enough for them to adequately and timely respond, I are posting this publicly with the sincere hope that the school will take her requests seriously.

At least one person you just looked at, will not be with you come graduation." Yeah, that not only scared me half to death, but I knew this was only for serious engineering students. It was true - actually - only one person that was next to me at orientation made it to graduation with me. It was the hardest four years of my life, and the greatest decision I have made to come to this institution. Professors are your backbone, your classmates your reality check, your family your lifeline, and your degree the sweetest moment of glory you've ever felt. I'm a bit sad about the name change to the Polytechnic Institute of NYU, but it is still good 'ol Poly to me. Great honor and privilege to be an Alumni.

The campus is spread over two block and is near the Pratt institute campus. My impression of this college is very positive. Plus- Small school, personal attention, small classes. 90% of the student body are commuters. Neighbor is historical- Clinton Hill. School is close to the city. The tuition is reasonable for a private school. The story is acessible by subway (G-train) and buses on Mytle Ave. and Dekalb Ave. (This review is from the view poinr of a parent with a college bound child.)

The library and classrooms need a huge makeover because everything looks like a public primary school. 13 block walk from Dekalb ave station. The people are nice, but the school isn't organized. Being a non-matriculated student here, I did not get on the right foot in. I do not take classes physically here but the problems I had to encounter do not make me want to take any in the future. I was charged for a $716 mandatory insurance because I was "placed" on a list with the matriculated students. And I didn't get any prior physical mail until an invoice came to my doorstop. The problem was taken care of, but they need better correspondence to their students before giving students private information to companies without the students consent. Yes, this school is in a historic area, but hey, this is the 21st century and you are in NYC, upgrade please!

Walking in is like entering the high school from Dangerous Minds; high security, utilitarian appeal, and durable come to mind. The security guard was very friendly, which was refreshing and greeted everyone with a smile. The rooms are old and drafty, but served it's purpose. The lecture went on without a hitch. I suppose their dental students do supervised dental work for very lost cost, which I have not partook in but might be interested in in the future.

The sound in the performance room we were in for his performance was great. The seating reminded me of my Great Grandmother church back home in Chicago (Ebinizer) how the rows are extremely long benches wrapped across the room back to back. Every seat in the house was a good seat unless you are sitting behind one of those signature monumental antique pillars. This building is pretty busy as there are a lot of rooms for performances, educational programs, after school programs, etc. I love the architect and the diversity of the students, program participants, program directors, etc.. I look forward to checking out this place again hopefully during my nephew Holiday performances.

Class sizes were small, teachers were very engaged and I got a wonderful variety of music, dance, art and cultural experiences. The school has a lot of traditional festivities such as the May Day Dance, Pumpkin Patch, the Winter Sing or Dance Concert. The grounds and facilities preserve the history and beautiful architecture of the early 20th century while utilizing current technology and modern design. The Chapel is breathtaking - with stained glass windows from Tiffany. As taken from the website: "Packer Collegiate Institute is an independent, college preparatory day school providing coeducational programs from PreK-12. The oldest independent school in Brooklyn, founded in 1845 in the historic district of Brooklyn Heights. The speaker was very nice and well informed. The college offers a great program and opportunity for someone to obtain their college degree. There are several flexible options that are designed to work with the busiest schedules if you're truly focused. She did mention that the college was a writing intensive school because of the flexibility. You can take online courses or attend one of many campuses and what I love is the availability of 24 hour online study programs. Another plus is that they offer students the opportunity to utilize CUNY libraries even though Empire is a state college through a partnership with CUNY. The tuition is pretty decent for a state college. I can go on and on about what I learned but I think that I touched bases on the "need to know".
