N train stops at Court Street according to the MTA, which is 1 1/2 blocks away from the campus.

This small college (around 2,700) has been a fantastic experience for my son since he came from a moderate size high school (around 3,000).

Today I attended an Open House session at St. Joseph College…read more The Open House was well organized and the campus tour give by the students (two freshman) was informative. The campus is spread over two block and is near the Pratt institute campus. My impression of this college is very positive. Plus- Small school, personal attention, small classes. 90% of the student body are commuters. Neighbor is historical- Clinton Hill. School is close to the city. The tuition is reasonable for a private school. The story is acessible by subway (G-train) and buses on Mytle Ave. and Dekalb Ave. (This review is from the view poinr of a parent with a college bound child.)

The school isn't hard to find, but trying to figure which building the administration is very hard…read more The trees need trimming because it covers the signs. The library and classrooms need a huge makeover because everything looks like a public primary school. 13 block walk from Dekalb ave station. The people are nice, but the school isn't organized. Being a non-matriculated student here, I did not get on the right foot in. I do not take classes physically here but the problems I had to encounter do not make me want to take any in the future. I was charged for a $716 mandatory insurance because I was "placed" on a list with the matriculated students. And I didn't get any prior physical mail until an invoice came to my doorstop. The problem was taken care of, but they need better correspondence to their students before giving students private information to companies without the students consent. Yes, this school is in a historic area, but hey, this is the 21st century and you are in NYC, upgrade please!

This place is huge and antique to say the least. I came by to check out my nephew orchestra…read moreperformance. I Love the history the building tells from the outside all through the stairways. The sound in the performance room we were in for his performance was great. The seating reminded me of my Great Grandmother church back home in Chicago (Ebinizer) how the rows are extremely long benches wrapped across the room back to back. Every seat in the house was a good seat unless you are sitting behind one of those signature monumental antique pillars. This building is pretty busy as there are a lot of rooms for performances, educational programs, after school programs, etc. I love the architect and the diversity of the students, program participants, program directors, etc.. I look forward to checking out this place again hopefully during my nephew Holiday performances.

I went to Packer for "lower" and "middle" school. It was an amazing school offering a great blend…read moreof art and core education classes. Class sizes were small, teachers were very engaged and I got a wonderful variety of music, dance, art and cultural experiences. The school has a lot of traditional festivities such as the May Day Dance, Pumpkin Patch, the Winter Sing or Dance Concert. The grounds and facilities preserve the history and beautiful architecture of the early 20th century while utilizing current technology and modern design. The Chapel is breathtaking - with stained glass windows from Tiffany. As taken from the website: "Packer Collegiate Institute is an independent, college preparatory day school providing coeducational programs from PreK-12. The oldest independent school in Brooklyn, founded in 1845 in the historic district of Brooklyn Heights. It has a rich educational history...The campus includes 6 connected buildings: Founder's Hall, the Science Building, Alumnae Hall, the Pratt Building, the Commons, and the Middle School." The garden and outside facilities are truly beautiful and worth stopping by even just to see the outside!
