Review applies to the Staten island campus---Good college in some ways, mediocre to bad in others. Staff and faculty are very friendly, helpful and genuinely want their students to succeed. Most faculty members have PhDs and are committed to teaching, although a lot of them are hardcore traditional conservatives who try to impart their religious views even when the subject they are teaching has little or nothing to do with Catholic theology. Many professors will begin their classes with a prayer. Other than a handful of students, the student body is comprised of guidos/guidettes from Staten Island and for them the school is just an extra four years of Catholic high school. Students who don't conform to the "Jersey Shore" stereotype, usually feel like they don't belong. Not surprisingly, the SI campus has a very unintellectual, parochial type of feel to it. Plenty of grads wind up in jobs that don't require a four year degree or the investment of tens of thousands of dollars in education----lots of alumni work for NYPD, FDNY, Dept of Sanitation or their parents' small business. Those that do find jobs requiring degrees usually work in the NYC public school system. read more
