I walked into St. Elizabeth's ER from a doctors orders because I was in the worst unrelenting pain from a Bravo chip that I had ever experienced in my life. I was quickly triaged and sent to wait. I asked for a wheelchair they brought my one. it was the most uncomfortable chair I think I've sat on. it was hard plastic, slick and cold. First, they didn't understand the type of pain I was experiencing. Second, i had to wait 7 to 8 in so much pain that morphine didn't help, and they did nothing to help ease my pain caused by acid reflux and a hiatal hernia. They were not friendly. They did little to nothing to comfort me. I waited in misery so long the episode was passing. So I had them remove my IV and I walked out. This was my worst experience ever at a ER. I will never go back again. I recommend staying away from them. Choose another hospital if you ever need the ER. Unless you don't mind waiting 8 or more hours, with unfriendly staff. read more

Went in for a Strep and Covid test. Payed my 30 dollar copay and went on my way. A month later I get a bill saying they charged my insurance $500 and I owe $500. Apparently they ran the test using the lab in the hospital so that's why it was over $1000. That is absolutely absurd and a complete scam. Now I am wasting weeks of my time trying to get this resolved. Do not go here. Completely garbage read more

New hospital, new smell! Everything is so clean and smells so fresh. The waiting area has comfy furniture and the chairs have pull out trays where you can eat or fill out paperwork. The receptionist at outpatient was super friendly and nice! The best service I've gotten in a hospital! read more

I have never seen a group of employees so completely unable to do their jobs. Don't call and ask anyone a question because they either transfer you to someone who knows nothing more than they do or they just come right out and say "I don't know what to tell you, I don't know the answer to that question." That question was, "I was told when I scheduled the appointment that you would request the pre authorization. My insurance company hasn't received a request, and my appointment is in 3 days. It was scheduled 3 weeks ago. Are you going to request the pre auth?" The answer I received, "I have no idea. I am not sure who you would need to talk to. I guess you could show up and see if it's covered." Sure, I'l show up and take the chance on paying $1000's of dollars for a test that would have been covered by my insurance had you requested a pre-auth like you told me you were going to. DO NOT GO HERE!!! $1232 bill for 30 min visit. They are supposed to be an urgent care but will bill you as an Emergency Room visit. I received a bill for $298 for the visit and for seeing the doctor (which I never saw). I met with a nurse practitioner and took an x-ray of my foot. I was in and out less than 30 minutes. Then I received a bill, which I attached below, in addition to the $298 bill for the X-Ray which is understandable because it's additional service but there is a $502 charge for the Emergency Room (total bill $934). When I called the clinic to clarify they made it clear they are not the emergency room and that they are an urgent care separate and across the street. I called billing and they lady keeps telling me I was billed this way because they are affiliated with the emergency room so I get billed as such. That is Criminal!!! I specifically asked before being seen if this was billed as an urgent care or an emergency room and she said urgent care. I called billing back again and a different lady is telling me my bill is correct and it was billed as an urgency care but you can clearly see in my picture it says "emergency room." I kept telling her on my bill right before my eyes it says "emergency room" and nowhere does it says "urgent care." I was already charged for the doctor and "sitting fee" for the urgent care on a separate bill and now they are wanting me to pay for an emergency room visit as well! How is this place in business?! How many people have they robbed like this? This is absolutely terrible they advertise as an urgent care but bill as an emergency room and lie to you about it! The cherry on top is they misdiagnosed me. They saw nothing on my X-ray and when my foot continued to hurt I went to another place and it was clear as day (they showed me my X-ray) my foot was broke in two different places. I hope this review will save someone else's time and money. Go to a normal take care clinic or urgent care that is stand alone. DO NOT GO HERE! Since they are affiliated with the hospital it gives them a reason to charge incorrectly and get away with it. It's so sad. I don't know how these people lay their head down at night especially seeing all the reviews below about this same exact issue. As a former medical professional who has actually worked for the hospital affiliated with this urgent care center, I was aghast at the lack of concern shown by MOST of the staff at this place to every patient coming to the window. Everyone was treated like a number, not a sick person. I had to take a family member for an asthma condition which required pretty immediate help. We arrived and were "greeted" by an extremely rude male desk clerk. Rude is an understatement. If I was his manager and I saw how he treats people he'd have been fired. Arrogant, impatient, rude, uppity, condescending are all words describing this male employee. Once back in the exam room, the physician who was on duty had no patience (no pun intended I assure you) and If he'd have cracked a smile, his face would have broken. This is not unusual for some M.D.s but after the clerk's attitude it was clearly a reflection of the whole practice. The nurse, however, was wonderful. For this reason alone the place got a two star rating. Otherwise it would have been a one star, and that's only because I have to actually give a star. The worst urgent care center ever. I went to the ER very early this morning for severe pain and from the moment I arrived, I knew I'd be well cared for. Having had a recent experience in the ER at another hospital that did absolutely nothing to address my issue, I had my doubts that this would be much different. But the St. Elizabeth's ER staff proved my skepticism unnecessary. The triage nurse was sweet, caring and patient and listened attentively to my situation. They got me right back in a room and, while it took some time for someone to see me, they made me as comfortable as possible. Appropriate tests were ordered, I was evaluated and a path to move forward in resolving my situation was mapped out. Every single staff member was kind, caring, upbeat and did their part to provide compassionate care balanced with good information in partnership with me. I can say the experience has given me renewed hope that getting good care is possible in this day and age. Can't thank all of you at St. E's ER enough. read more

My son and I both had to visit on a weekend for the flu. Really high temps. Anyway, after my health insurance reduced their contracted rate for charges with this facility, I just received another bill from a Texas company that must employ the doctors at this facility. The bill says something to the effect of "charges for doctor care" and would be separate from any hospital charges. We waited an hour each to be seen, spent 30 mins behind the door, my insurance paid a portion, or whatever they "agree" to pay with this facility, then I receive two separate $191 charges for the efforts of the doctor? Don't waste your time going to this place, you'll regret it. read more

This site needs negative stars, seriously. I hate Saint E's with a passion and have for many years. The ER has attempted to kill me numerous times (after I told them my allergy they gave me the med I was allergic to). Ive only used Urgicare a few times and was never pleased. The most recent visit was for my daughter who was crying out in pain. Poor girl has a low pain tolerance. She showed all the symptoms of strep and the swabbed her. Later claimed it was negative and my thought was "Really? Have you not seen her throat??" Just sent us home. This morning she was in more pain brought her to Memorial and guess what, positive for Strep. Called Urgicare and all the staff said was "We cant explain it" BS! Wasted four hours at Urgicare. Just go somewhere else. Don't waste your time. read more

I came here 5 years ago for a sprained ankle and have warned everyone I know not to go here. Go to the ER! go another urgicare! go to st louis! but don't go here! I sprained ankle and had to have x ray and lady didn't help me up on xray table. I struggled to hop up on, then she wanted me to put my foot at 90 degree angle for she could take xray and said I couldn't it hurt too bad and she was angry and grabbed my foot and shoved it to 90 degree. I screamed so loud my husband could hear me in the waiting room. Then we went and saw Dr and said nothing looked broken. Told me to take ibuprofen. They didn't wrap foot up, put ice on it, give me note for work or prescription. I'm like why are we here. read more

I spend a lot of time in this hospital at its old location in belleville haveing several surgerys over the last 2 years and being admitted for orther things the care was excellent and hay even haveing a special diet the food was great . There new location is just as good as well. read more

I slipped on black ice and fell lading on my back hitting my left side first; on Mar 3. ,2011, at 7:45 AM, immediately went to the Urgicare to be checked out. They did nothing to check for injury to my head. I found out later, they x-rayed the wrong hip. They advertise to avoid the long waits of the ER. You are better off going to the other hospital ER. read more

Was recommended to go have prenatal lab work done. Had to go back two more times after my first initial visit because they screwed up. The first time because they didn't draw enough blood. Which I had to come back out of my way for, only to sit in a waiting room for an hour. Then the second time because they neglected to run all the requested test. Which by the way are posted on the wall. And they couldn't use the first 2 sets of blood because they had thrown it away. NEVER AGAIN. I don't care how far I have to drive. read more

Our child hit his head in the street. He could not remember what had happened, he could not walk straight and fell down. He threw up twice while loading him in to the car to come to this god forsaken place. We come in at 3 minutes till closing and a woman 9 month pregnant says they are closed and can not help us. "We do not DO head Injury's is what we where told". My boy is 6 and he is not awake and they would not even look at him, we had to be the ambulance to the next place we could find. We had to call and get an address and look for the next hospital, this was 20 minutes away. I hope when she has her baby and hold him in her arms, she will someday feels like I did, when a Dr. is on the other side of the glass and she would not let us even talk to him. I am so calling my lawyer and if you are hurt and in need of care DO NOT COME HERE. it is all about leaving for these people. Had to visit the ED recently for a re-occurring problem I have. They got me in quickly, no waiting and got the ball rolling without any delay. CT said that the problem I usually have these symptoms for wasn't the issue. Upon reading the symptoms can be very similar. I was discharged immediately with prescriptions. They were correct about the new diagnosis but they were wrong about what was causing my symptoms. It was both issues. The bigger more severe issue that re-occurs had partially cleared itself but returned later. They don't realize I know my body after dealing with this unusual problem. They need to listen and not discount what the patient says. The prescriptions are useless to me. The papers they gave me about the findings were useless to the doctor I told them I was following up with and I cannot find their information for requesting copies of my record on the website like other hospitals I have had to use. Another word of advice, if you want your patient to change into a gown and they have pain in the 8-9 range, give them more than 10 seconds to change before you open the door wide to everyone in the hall. That includes when you discharge. As I just took of my gown a woman walks in and says, oh, you are still here. I'm like yes, I was given some strong pain medication and it takes me more than 10 seconds to change. read more

While out of town in O'Fallon I needed to be treated for a simple infection. Patient BEWARE. This facility bills as an emergency room visit as it is affiliated with St. Elizabeth's Hospital $ ER Copay. In addition the fee to go there was $312. On top of that they ran over $300 of tests that were unnecessary. On top of all of that you get billed for a new patient fee over $200 for the doctor that treated you. A simple routine infection cost over $750. Ridiculous! read more

This place is a joke. When I took my 3-month-old son in for a congested cough, they told me that he had pneumonia, and sent us via ambulance to St. Louis Children's Hospital, who informed me it was just the rhinovirus, and that somebody (it was the UrgiCare) had called DCFS on me!!! Apparently for medical neglect. I love St. E's Hospital, but this place is a joke. I will never come here again, and tell others not to as well. My father recently went here for left elbow and lower arm pain. He was told that he had to go the the hospital in an ambulance because he might be having a heart attack. He was told that blood pressure and chest x-rays were okay, but that he still needed to be taken by ambulance. My father absolutely did not want to take an ambulance, and explained that if they thought it was absolutely necessary his wife would drive him. He was then told that if he didn't follow orders, his insurance wouldn't have to cover his medical bills. He was frustrated, scared and embarrassed to be leaving in an ambulance for what he described as a minor lower arm/hand pain. Because of the diagnosis he received at this urgicare, the hospital put him through tests all day and made him spend the night. The next day he was finally seen by another physician in the hospital who quickly and easily diagnosed what the issue was. My father had a nerve in his elbow that was causing the pain. We're living in a time when health insurance prices are skyrocketing. This misdiagnosis is unacceptable and cost his insurance $16,000. He has medicare which means that taxpayers, you and I paid this bill. read more
