I am extremely disappointed and uncomfortable with the way I was treated during my visit on September 8th, I came in during the 10 PM-12 AM shift. I came to the hospital because I was experiencing significant pain and was looking for help. I explained that the medication I had previously been prescribed a few days earlier was not helping and that I was waiting for my PCP appointment because that was the earliest opportunity I had to be seen. Unfortunately, I left feeling as though my pain was not taken seriously and that the staff did not genuinely want to help me. The doctor on this shift, a Hispanic female, made me feel extremely uncomfortable throughout my visit. I cannot speak to her intentions, but the way I was treated left me feeling profiled, dismissed, and judged rather than cared for as a patient. I was not given meaningful relief for my pain, and I left feeling worse emotionally than when I arrived. The experience actually started at the front desk/nursing area. A Hispanic female nurse/front-desk employee with tattoos referred to me as "pinched nerve" rather than by my name. She literally said, "Oh, I'ma go get pinched nerve." I understand that my diagnosis may have been noted in my chart, but I am a person--not a diagnosis. Being referred to by my condition instead of my name felt extremely disrespectful and dehumanizing. Shortly before that, I also overheard her say, "I should have called in." I understand that healthcare workers can have difficult shifts and may be overwhelmed, but patients should never be made to feel like their presence is an inconvenience. I went to the hospital because I was in pain and needed medical care. I expected to be treated with compassion, dignity, and professionalism. Instead, I felt dismissed and uncomfortable, and ultimately my pain was not adequately addressed. This experience has completely changed my opinion of this location. I will not be returning to this hospital, and based on my experience, I would not refer anyone I care about to this specific location. Patients deserve to be treated like human beings regardless of their background, appearance, diagnosis, or circumstances. If you are working in healthcare, please remember that the person sitting in front of you may already be scared, hurting, exhausted, or vulnerable. A little compassion and respect can make an enormous difference. read more

New Dr! traveling MD from Denver... it was her 1st day... she knew nothing! I fell and had pain in both feet; very hard time bearing weight... X-ray showed no foot fractures. so that's it, no fractures, bye! oh she offered crutches (which she wasn't even sure they had there) Ummm I can't bear weight on either foot! Terrible experience at St. David's ER in Pflugerville -- don't waste your time. I went in with severe pain in my thigh and could barely walk. The nurse and the ultrasound technician ware gentle and kind. But the doctor? Absolutely the worst. No compassion, no real help, and not even basic pain medication for a patient that rate the pain 10, I left that place 2 hours later in worse shape than when I arrived -- limping and in more pain. STAY AWAY!!! I went in after getting constant notifications on my watch of extremely high heart rate. I went in to this ER and was accused of being in withdrawal following a back surgery I had last year and seeking pain meds. My blood pressure was 157/103 but the nurse said it wasn't anything they would treat and brushed off my symptoms and made me feel crazy for coming in. When the doctor came in he said I must be having an infection despite not having an elevated white blood cell count, no fever, and no symptoms of it. When I said I wanted to leave the nurses refused to pull out my IV and said I had no reason to want to leave and became argumentative. read more

My wife took our daughter here this evening for severe chest congestion, coughing and fever. The front desk male was extremely rude and unprofessional. The xray tech was the same. And the doctor had to be "convinced" to get a chest xray for our daughter. Why treat people so poorly when they are coming to you for help?? Get another job if you are that unhappy. Very frustrated with my care here yesterday. I work for another st David's facility and came here for worsening cold and flu like symptoms and concerns for something else. The doctor was not attentive to my needs and made me feel crazy. They gave me Valium and fluids and sent me home. I don't feel that Valium was necessary. I was not having a panic attack, I'd had a fever all day, and flu like symptoms. Only a Covid and flu test were done. I had to go to another facility today and was positive for strep. I was not crazy! I was just sick and wanted answers. And now had to spend more money, after looking at other reviews this seems to happen more than it should, and I'm not looking forward to billing. I love HCA and st David's and will vouch for them any day but this Dr I will not. read more

This emergency room is terrible!! I got 6 stitches here after an injury right next to my artery. The room had a tv in it and as the doctor was stitching me up he was watching the show on tv more that he was watching wat he was doing. I got a bill from them and payed it. Soon after two of the six stitches ripped through my skin. I ended up going to a different hospital since I did not trust these people any more. They conclude this was due to poor quality work. I had to pay the second hospital again to fix the situation. Then a couple weeks later received another bill form st. Davids, they explained the first bill was for the doctor and the second for the hospital. I disputed the second bill due to the disappointing Results and additional cost sustained due to their poor work. st. David's informed me that the doctors working at the facility are not direct employees of the facility and therefore are not responsible for the quality of care provided. The told me to pay the bill. I disputed it again. Eventually they threatened to send it to collections. I ended up paying the bill due to their threats and realizing they were not gonna do the right thing. Now almost a year later they send me another bill for late payment. These people are scammers do not go here, do not trust their word. They just want your money and will take no responsibility for the quality of care provided. read more

1 little monkey jumpin on the bed 1 fell off and bumped his head! Mama called the doctor and the doctor said... NO MORE MONKEYS JUMPIN ON THE BED! So we ran into the emergency room because Remi busted his head jumping on the bed. We got the blood stopped but it was quite a gash so we thought he needed to be seen by a doc to be sure we got it closed as best as we could. They got us back in seconds.... doctor came in mins later... discussed options and got us started down the path right away to get things done and taken care of. I can't say enough about how nice they were, how caring, and how fast they took care of us. I just could not have been happier! What a great experience! My boy is home and doing great... The doctor was very rude and made accusations based off of the treatment for my migraines. I never had or have issues when I have to go to urgent care for my treatment. The doctor only gave me one round of medications and I expressed to the doctor that I wasn't still in a lot of pain. She still discharged me and didn't offer to help me. I went to the ER because of shortness of breath after midnight one evening and was seen by Leslie, Winky and Dr. Simpkins. I was immediately taken to the back and talked to, listened to and observed. Dr. Simpkins came in to speak with me within 5-7 minutes. They were polite, expeditious and compassionate. After getting to the cause of my issue very quickly, The Dr explained in detail, where I could understand, what had happened to me and what was going to happen now that I was there. His bedside manner was great. They did everything that he explained to me and made sure that I was comfortable. They ran additional tests and made sure I was truly ok before sending me home. I feel like this team, including the x-ray tech, went over and beyond to treat me medically as needed and make me feel comfortable. I woud definitely return there if I had another medical emergency. Their smiles, sense of timely humor, knowledge and compassion, made a scary experience bearable. read more

Wow! What an awesome place and staff. I fell in Walnut Creek leaving an abrasion on my shin that bled ALOT. I managed to get the bleeding stopped when I got home, and did not seek help that day. But that evening it became very sore, so my Dr's office suggested I seek ER assistance. I went to St David's in Pflugerville. Incredible experience. They irrigated the wound, x-rayed the leg, and gave me prescriptions all in LESS THAN AN HOUR! Incredible care, incredible kindness, and such a wonderful kind staff! I was soo impressed, I left there and went and grabbed the staff a dozen doughnuts from RR Doughnuts. Just a wonderful medical experience! read more

I came in yesterday at about 12:30 am with horrible stomach pains. They took great care of me with very happy and positive attitudes! After running a few tests and taking care of my pain the results came in. I had to get my appendix removed. Since this is a St. David's affiliated ER center they had a transport come and take me to the hospital and get my surgery done ASAP. I highly recommend this place with ANY emergency you have. I had a run in with Lisa during my brief time here. Apparently she is some kind of charge nurse or "big wig" nurse. Anyway I witnessed her acting very disrespectful toward another worker. He wasn't a nurse but had a blue shirt on, that's all I know of him. She had a very disgusting attitude as if she was degrading the man and made sure to interrupt every sentence he spoke with attitude and disrespect. The man appeared to stay quiet and bite his lip through it all. So much respect to him for maintaining a cool head. These are the nurses in charge of this hospital. I don't want my family under the care of Lisa or any other nurse at this facility. It's a shame to see St. David's promote this type of person and allow them a task of taking care of others when clearly she's full of herself. read more

Please be aware that this is a ER coded center vs. an urgent care clinic, so your visit for any sort of ailment will be charged accordingly (READ: your bill will be higher here). Recent visit in Feb. for flu-like symptoms (at home 103 temp, presented at clinic with 101, cough, etc.) bill came out to $784, which I was prescribed OTC Tylenol and Sudafed to manage symptoms. You will see two separate charges, one for the St. David facility, and then one for the physician (so my bill could be well over $3k pending negotiations). My review is predominantly to warn others of this: if your injuries are not of life-threatening nature (sprained ankles, cuts), you may be better off trying to seek an urgent care clinic in Round Rock, especially for non-insured. You'll be billed via 3 separate entities, St. David, the physician, and whatever diagnostics you use. St. David's has financial offices services available to talk through if you don't have insurance, but you'll be hard up the creek when it comes to the physician's fee (Longhorn Medical), and diagnostic fee (Clinical Pathology Associates). On the plus side, it's easy to part with your money via the web portal, but the terms of what is being charged and why are kept a mystery. Inconsistent information from the chat and calls; I was informed via chat that the due date was extended, but nothing would change or was noted on the portal. A call with a rep had explained that the bill was still in negotiations, but the bill due date would not be moved (I was notified to pay with a 15 day window, so very little wiggle room to figure out what was going on). Wasn't able to review potential charges prior, nor advised of what treatment (consisting of Tylenol at this point) would cost. I refused the Tylenol, since I had them at home. Google what other stories of what acetaminophen would cost per pill at ER to see what I mean. In spite of COVID-19 being a clear and present danger by January, PPE for coughing/trying not to infect others was placed well in the middle of the waiting room for patients. Things may have changed since Feb, but not confident given that the danger of the virus was present since December and a placard was placed next to this kiosk (so they knew about this, but still placed well into the room). This isn't to say I want to be protected, but I want to protect others with my cough. On the plus side, on-site lab was able to swab for strains of flu (showed negative), but not able to do full test to show for strep, COVID, etc. - I'm unsure if that's due to what's available or what was advised for testing. read more

My young daughter ended up with a tiny cut on her head. Although it was not extremely serious, we elected to go to an urgent care to get her stitched up. At least we thought we had gone to an urgent care. Imagine our surprise when we opened our bill to find we had been billed emergency room rates for what ended up being two stitches. We truly feel like we have been swindled. One of the great frustrations of medical billing is, you frequently don't know how much a visit is going to cost you until a month or two afterward. And St. David's did nothing to disclose a minimum of what they would charge for a visit. We appreciate the convenience of urgent care facilities where we can go for less serious issues and not have to fork out thousands of hard-earned dollars just for walking in the door. We found this clinic by doing a quick online search using the phrase "urgent care." I didn't really consider this would be considered anything other than a clinic as it is in a shopping center and is not attached to a hospital. Had we known this was not an "urgent care" facility, we would have just driven a mile in either direction to another clinic. We love our daughter immensely, and received good care, but being expected to pay the equivalent of a family vacation to Disney World for a one hour visit to a clinic, is outrageously ludicrous. Unless you are dealing with a life-threatening condition, be advised to seek care elsewhere, lest you have a bill-shock heart-attack and need an ER for real. read more

Update on my review. Some computer generated response, I would assume, told me to call the number and speak with someone about my visit. I did so. The lady I spoke with didn't give a darn. This place has a horrible rating and I will update this with 1 star everyday until I'm either compensated for my visit, or not billed for not being taken care of. I am disgusted that I was treated so poorly when I was sick and in pain. I forgot to ad to my original review that the nurse asked me to take a certain med and I told her I couldn't take that it makes me sick. Don't go here you are better off just going straight to an emergency room. I took my son here and they sent him to the St. David's in Round Rock because they didn't have the proper equipment. He ended up getting 4 stitches, and now we owe 2 emergency bill visits. I will post the bills so you can see how this is simple fraud. I would like to know if anyone else has had this done because i am filing a BBB complaint. I have attached several photos showing the double billing from both hospitals. If some lady named Lisa still works there, don't go. My dad went into this establishment expecting to receive what any other would when going into any emergency room, which is help and care. She immediately kicked him out without a second thought and accused him of putting everyone at risk because he had COVID. Thank god my dad is ok now but how could she have known he would be? She had no idea what state he was in and even then she denied him the care he needed. I am beyond angry to this day. Incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional, and that's putting it nicely. I brought my husband here after he was complaining about severe abdominal pain for a few days. He almost never gets sick so when he asks me to take care of tasks he normally handles, I get concerned. We chose this clinic because they didn't offer on site Covid testing and the wait time was 2 minutes. We were seen immediately and within 10-15 minutes of being there, he was diagnosed with appendicitis. He was rushed to the St. David's medical center north for immediate surgery. It was a scary time for us, but the staff at this clinic did everything possible to make us as comfortable as we could be. Dreading the bill, but that's more of a failure of the American healthcare system and not this clinic. The staff was amazing and I couldn't recommend them enough. read more

This ER is a hit or miss. Sometimes I worry that they rush without a full evaluation. A month ago I took my son to get his ankle looked at since he was having a hard time standing on it. The Er doc took x-rays and said that due to his surgeries she thought it was fine and that there was no break for fracture. I took her word because she said she got a second opinion. Fast forward 3 weeks and my son is still having problems with ankle so I was finally get my son into his foot specialist and guess what his ankle was fractured. My son went 3 weeks on a broken ankle because he was misdiagnosed. The only reason it has 3 stars is because I had to rush my husband to this ER 2 weeks ago and we received amazing care. Not so much from the Doctor but from the nurse Ruban. My husband had the flu plus very very high blood sugar (which he has never had a problem with that). Ruban was able to get my husband back to normal and put my mind at ease. read more

I don't write many reviews and, when I do, they're usually stellar. Reviewing an emergency center isn't the easiest thing to do. For starters, you're rarely there for a good reason. You don't want to stay very long. Finally, you don't really want to go back because that means something has gone wrong to bring you there. I've been to this location twice, a week apart. Both times I was treated... beyond well. The waiting time was nearly non-existent. I filled out the paperwork, handed it in, sat down, and was called to a room in the back. If you don't absolutely need to be at a hospital ER then you can't beat that. Both times I was there on a Saturday; the first time in the mid-morning and the second time was late in the afternoon. There wasn't a lot of waiting time in a room, either. In my case, I needed an IV both times. Both times it was hooked up right away and I was left with the remote for the TV and encouraged to watch it. The point is, they were friendly about it. I never once felt like I was being a bother or that people had better things to do. read more

My almost 4 years old split his chin open on Saturday night. I wasn't sure where to go so I googled it. St David's ER was the closest and had decent reviews. I called first to make sure my insurance was excepted. From the time we walked in to the time we walked out, it was a pleasant experience. The nurses were friendly and helpful. Dr Dapper was kind and patient with my son. Even though he might not have understood everything she was saying, she explained what she was doing and what was going to happen. It really helps a child's fear of doctors when they have a pleasurable experience given the circumstances. The ER was clean, quiet and comfortable. From start to finish (intake, numbing, gluing, and discharge) was about 2 hours. If we ever need an after hours ER, I will definitely look here first. read more

It's never fun to have to take your kid to the ER, but when my son got bitten by a dog, the doctors and nurses here were great. They handled my son efficiently and with kindness, and we were relieved that the stitching on his face was done skillfully. The scar could have been a lot worse. But then the nightmare started. We paid a $500 copay at the facility -- I had to sign a form on an iPad that the administrator discouraged me from reading. She flipped quickly past pages of text to the places where I had to sign. I felt uncomfortable but I was too distracted by my kid's bleeding face to protest. Then a month later we got a $2000 bill in the mail. I went back to check the EOB I got from my insurance company. Nope, we were only supposed to owe about $400; the rest was subject to a contractual discount, because the ER is in-network with my insurance. I called the billing company and sent a copy of the Explanation of Benefits, and also informed my insurance company, who contacted them as well. No response from the billing company until one month later, when I get the SAME bill from a completely DIFFERENT billing company, this one not even in Texas. I went through the same rigamarole, faxing the EOB, my insurance company contacted them and also faxed the EOB. Then I called to verify the faxes were received. I was allowed to pay the amount that my insurance company says I owe, but the billing company wouldn't answer my question about whether the account would be put on hold (i.e. not sent to collections) while the updated amount was being submitted. I was told I should call back "every 5-7 business days" to get a status update. What?? Why am I responsible for protecting myself from collections while the billing company fixes their mistake on no particular timeline? Additionally, I've gotten two other bills from other companies for physician's fees. One was expected, but the second was for the removal of my son's stitches a week later. I was specifically told at the ER that they would remove the stitches without any further charge. Also, it appears that the second bill was never even submitted to my insurance, so I will have to submit it myself. I feel like I'm being scammed and am looking into filing a complaint with the Texas Health Facility Compliance Group. This has been such a stressful experience. read more

This ER is the worst, don't bother going here because they won't treat you like a human being but rather a paycheck. They misdiagnosed my daughter at Christmas saying she had a cold when it was really a bladder infection and had my child walking around in pain for a week because they said it had to run its course. They refused change my medication when I had an allergic reaction to medication they prescribed. I gave them plenty of chances and will never go back to this facility. Hope they go out of business once the Scott and White hospital is built. read more
