I appreciate the fact that you can join the wait online rather than having to show up in person and sit in the waiting room. I have been to this location a couple of times now, and what I have learned is that they often don't know what's wrong with you. Today, for example, they could not figure out whether I'm having an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite or something else. The recommendation was to make an appointment to see my dermatologist. Lesson learned... Next time I'll start there and save myself the co-pay. The staff were all very nice and they are trying to be helpful. read more

I had a very smooth visit here recently. I was feeling very unwell at about 7am, but they didn't open until 8, so I checked in online in advance and waited before heading over there to arrive at about 7:55. My information has already been gathered online, so there was no lengthy check in process, and I waited less than 10min before being taken back for triage with a med tech. When I was seen by the PA, she was very kind and appeared to listen to my issues. She ordered a chest X-ray (exactly what I hoped for and expected) and I was taken back for that with little wait. I was given the results almost immediately, and I was prescribed reasonable and helpful medications. I walked in from an e bike accident. The lady at the front desk straight up ignored me when I asked her questions regarding the check in process. After she refused to answer my questions I walked towards the door and turned around and asked if she had anything to say to which she continued to ignore me. I then returned to ask her name and to speak to a manager and she refused to give me her name or the managers info. Another staff member came out and told me I couldn't use curse words and she asked me to leave or she would call the cops on me. This place is an absolute joke! I wouldn't let these nut jobs touch me with a ten foot pole. Took my broken ass over to Carbon urgent care where they found my info immediate and helped me out without fuss. This place has horrible care quality. St David's Care Now on Wonder World Dr in San Marcos, TX is horrible. Front staff and doctors are unsympathetic. Just go to the ER. They do not care and will not prescribe the right medicine when its evident you are sick with infection in your chest. Dr. Metcalf refused to prescribe an antibiotic when i presented signs of an upper respiratory infection with chills and had a low grade fever during the week. The doctor said he cannot prescribed antibiotics if I'm not having chills or fever. Sir, I just told you I was having those symptoms but he still refused to give an antibiotic. He would only prescribe a cough syrup and said I know what I'm doing been in this industry for 18 years. Clearly you don't and missed it and refused to treat me. Excellent PA Kaitlin, but extremely unprofessional & ineffective Med Tech Michael. Michael wasted 20 minutes grandstanding and making self-aggrandizing speeches instead of efficiently collecting the needed data & info so we could speak to the PA (just had a brief question for physician). He started out with unpleasant comments re: assumptions he instantly made about us and our physical appearance in the waiting room. Continued with verbose, repetitive, and unclear statements in the exam room, and a resentful attitude when we tried to clarify. Made multiple crude, disrespectful or irrelevant comments while taking history & vitals instead of focusing on the task at hand. After all this, he repeatedly complained that he was eager to get off work soon to see his family (it was near the end of the day) and that we were 'slowing him down'--his own conduct and pontificating plus his excessive chattering and not listening, was what caused the long delay; not us. After finally getting a quick and thorough visit with the kind PA Kaitlin, Michael proceeded to prolong our visit further by delivering an unnecessarily long speech inaccurately stating what he thought the PA meant and inaccurately stating what he thought her recommendations were--we just wanted to exit promptly because we had rushed excessively to get there and filled out the paperwork at lightning speed (very helpful & courteous front desk person btw). We filled out the intake paperwork rapidly as possible due to it being late in the business day of this clinic. Our courtesy to the staff in respecting their time, was repaid by Michael with self-centered rudeness and gross inefficiency--he clearly demonstrated to us that he regarded our time and needs to be vastly inferior to his personal needs and issues. We were treated as an annoyance & interruption, and insulted as if we were idiots instead of competent adults. (We were the only patients in the waiting room, and no others in the exam area). I hope the management can recognize that this person needs re-training intervention to gain a better understanding of his duties and his position in the medical system, how to communicate appropriately, and some simple good business practices. Not everyone can be taught to do this kind of work, but extra input may help to redirect his behavior on the job. It's been like 6 months and I'm still mad about this. My urgent care copay for this place was $0. It is insurance with st David's. Says the copay for this place on the face of the card. Front desk looks at this and says $0 is covered for urgent care. I explained what copay means and she said no, that means it's the amount covered so this visit will be out of pocket. I asked for a supervisor and she backed her up saying that's what a copay meant. I asked her to call my insurance. She went thru the automatic benefit process on the phone where it said my urgent care copay is $0, and she said "see?". I was reading her the definition of copay and everything and she was tripling down. I called in at 10:15am for an estimated wait time, because unlike most urgent cares they don't post their estimated wait time online, and for good reason apparently because they prioritize walk-ins over website e-check ins. At 10:15 I was told it would be an estimated 45 minute wait. I checked in online for the virtual wait within 1 minute after hanging up with them. 11:05am rolls around so I decide to head up there because they haven't bothered to text me to come in like they are supposed to. I walk in and ask the estimated wait time now and am told 1 hour. I tell the receptionist, who acted like a total witch, that I was quoted 45 minutes when I called and e-checked in and she proceeds to tell me they've had walk-ins since then. I tell her that if they're prioritizing walk-ins over e-check in's then that literally defeats the purpose of having checked in online and waiting virtually. I entered the facility on Burnet Rd with a case of "Swimmer's Ear" that had persisted for three days after taking my kids to the pool. It felt like I was underwater with a strong pressure in my eardrum. I was slowly developing an ache on the left side of my face along with a reduction in hearing. The Nurse Practitioner examined my ear and suggested an in-house treatment. Next, a medical technical professional (Amy) explained the treatment process to me in detail. She performed the treatment expertly, and my "Swimmer's Ear" was remedied. Amy was extremely thorough, knowledgeable and had an excellent disposition for interacting with patients. Needed stitches on my arm. Initial visit was great. Reasonably prompt service, clean and empty waiting room during these covid times. Left with stitches and a tetanus shot in about an hour fifteen. So far, so good. I was told to return for removal rather than take them out myself. When I returned, __another copay__ even though I returned to the same place. Next time I'll call Remedy and have them come to my house twice. I would save money on the copay and they don't charge for removal. ERs and doctors offices don't charge for removal either. I logged onto the website to schedule an appt at 9:24 am on Sat am. This clinic is close to my house and my Drs office is closed on the weekend. The reason for my visit was that my neice had been staying with me b/c she was sick and needed my care. She too coated this clinic 6 days before in a Friday- tested negative for Strep A but was told they also needed to do a culture ( non rapid test ) for Strep C and D. 3 days later on Monday, her results came back positive for one of those 2 strains of Strep. On Tuesday am , I woke up with the sore throat and as the week progressed, found myself getting worse, hence the appt I made on Sat am. Apparent they were quite busy today as I didn't not receive the text that they were ready for me until 3pm. I drove to the clinic, checked inns d was told I would be seen in a few minutes. 20 mins later, the girl at the desk said she had an update for me and there was a price drive being done and it would be now another 30-45 mins until I could be seen. B/c I love around the corner and felt so poorly, I went home and awaiting the second text. After an hour of not receiving this text. I called back and was out on indefinite hold. I called back again and was told I found return in 15 mins. We are now at close to 5pm. They did a throat culture and some PA- (NOT seven a Dr?) came in to tell me I was negative for Strep A. She did an exam and said my throat was not red or swollen wish surprised me b/c when I looked in the mirror with a flashlight 15 mins prior- my throat and tonsils were clearly swollen and I had a very sore throat and difficulty swallowing - Not to mention that the swabbing in the back of my throat felt like fire because it was so sore and inflamed. As well, it seems very illogical that for six days prior to this visit. I had someone living in my house with strep throat C or D, who also tested negative on her first visit- only to be told 3 days later she indeed had strep C or D. So I wasn't surprised I tested negative for Strep A, but was fairly Certain when my culture comes back ( which she wouldn't be until Tuesday) that I would indeed be positive. So I asked her to please write me a prescription. since I had missed so much work last week and really couldn't afford to miss anymore. If we wouldn't know until Tuesday, I likely wound miss M-W and likely not be able to return until Thurs. She said we don't like to prescribe any medicine until we get the results back. She also said it's been an entire week and you didn't die so 3 more days won't kill you. I didn't come into the clinic because I thought I was dying. I came into that clinic because I need to get back to work. And mostly, b/c anyone Dr with half a brain could conclude that my Tuesday test will indeed come back positive b/c I had a person positive w/ Strep, living in my house for 6 days. So regardless of what they "normally do" in my circumstance, I would think waiting write me a prescription for an antibiotic seemed like not only Leaving me to suffer in pain for three more days - but also keep me from returning to work on Monday. Her bedside manner was atrocious. She was nasty and argumentative, her level of care was even worse and she clearly isn't very smart. She finally gave in an wrote me a prescription- that alas, wasn't filled until after 6pm when my pharmacy had closed for the day! This place is a joke and that PA is terrible. I paid good money to see a DOCTOR- not an RN with some extra training who clearly can't use her brain. So here I am - no prescription until tomorrow am when the pharmacy opens and an entire day wasted, dealing w/ an incompetent wanna be. I had stopped at a different urgent care and was told the wait would be 3 hours. Checked in online for this location and was seen within 30 minutes. The staff were patient, kind, and attentive. The doctor was focused and informational in her approach and made me feel incredibly comfortable and heard. They followed up with me as soon as my results were in and they were able to make sure my prescriptions and tests were filled and performed quickly. Went in for an ear infection and was prescribed eardrops. Got to the pharmacy and they had no record of the prescription. I had to call care now and wait on the phone for 10 minutes while they called it in. Dr. told me the drops would start to relieve the pain within the first dosage. 24 hours later, not only no relief but worse. Call at noon on a Sunday and tell them it is worse and I have a horrible headache and can't do anything. Can barely get out of bed. They called back at 2 PM and tell me the doctor said I should wait until Tuesday and if it's not better by then I should come back in. I say there's no way I can live with his pain for four days. The drops aren't even going in my ear anymore because the canal is swollen. Can they please put me on oral antibiotics because that has worked in the past. I am put on hold and they say the doctor will call me back. I ask if I can make an appointment because I don't want to wait and they say it will be faster to have him call me back. I fall asleep until 5:30 PM and when I try to call back, they are closed. So now I have another night of no sleep due to the pain and will probably have to miss work tomorrow to try and get a real doctor to see me and treat this. read more

The CareNow website says that they provide $25 sports physicals - walk-ins only. However, when I walked in with my 13-year-old today (a Sunday), we were told they were not doing any physicals that day, and usually are not able to do so on any weekend. I was asked to call their office each day over the next week to see if the physician on staff that day would be able to give a sports physical and sign the paperwork we needed, but no guarantees on any given day - even during the week! I called another location and this was also the case. CareNow, please stop advertising that you provide this service if there are so many limitations - or state that supports physicals are only available M-F (and even then only on an as-possible basis). read more

Went in for a COVID test and got in and out very fast! Every person I interacted with was extremely kind and welcoming. When the nurse came to check on me (her first name was Dixie but I didn't catch the last name!) she could tell I was nervous and asked me what I was anxious about and helped me calm down and feel a lot better. I went to this urgent care because it was close to my work. The reviews weren't the best but I had such a bad case of poison Ivy it didn't matter. I got there about 9:30 am ,waited in a short line and they had me register online .They walked me threw it ,fairly simple and told me I would be seen in less than an hr. I told them I would be back in 45 minutes and I left. I came back 45 minutes later , waited about 10 minutes and my name was called. The receptionist and another lady were training someone but they were all respectful , helpful and for an urgent care courteous . The Doctor was sharp as a Tac and prescribed me something completely different than the friend that got Poison Ivy at my ranch with me. 5 days later I am almost completely free of poison Ivy, the marks and the Itch. Here's what I didn't tell the Doctor. My friend showed signs way before me and when he went to a completely different urgent care , they gave him a shot , itch pills and it did nothing for him , he literally was getting worse. So I split my medicine and cream and my prescription with him and his poison Ivy is gone also !! I live in Crystal Falls , my ranch is in Goldthwaite and I work in Austin . I had come in September for asthma, I gave them my card and my insurance, I was only charged my insurance copay... I went back in today for flu like symptoms and I was told I have a balance of $215... I had asked why because I was charged and I gave my insurance. She then told me that they never received my insurance, they didn't have it. She told me I was charged for only $39 and she didn't know why I was charged that amount... I told her that's my copay.... Insurance should've covered the rest. She told me she didn't need my attitude and that they weren't going to see me until that $215 was paid. The med tech, Kevin was through, gentle and respectful. The physician, Kate the same and I was tested and released in minutes with complete confidence in the diagnosis and care. The woman who shined for me was Katie who called to get me in as soon as possible and when I arrived she knew who I was, greeted me with enthusiasm and sincerity. She is an outstanding employee. I really needed a covid-19 test. My parents are coming to visit me this weekend so needed it before then because I don't want to get them sick. Also, I'm unable to get the nose swab because my nose is messed up and would be extremely painful for me. The website for this location said they do nose and throat swabs. So I needed to call to verify if I could get the throat swab. The lady who answered the phone hung up on me. Then I tried calling back over the course of 2.5 hours and it just rang and rang with no answer. So I went to the location in person. Walked in, told her I wasn't able to reach them over the phone, and she had no explanation and got an attitude with me. So I told her my situation and what I needed. She actually laughed at me and said "haha there is no throat swabs only nose swabs". Me, a confused customer, I said "oh well your website said y'all do nose and throat and that's why I was trying to call". Then she was just silent on that too so I just said bye and walked out. Would have been nice to get on the phone to save myself the trip but the girl at the desk obviously is just not answering the phone and in person she has a very bad attitude. Horrible experience.
