I was referred here due to a previous procedure that failed and I had a difficult time getting a straight and consistent recommendation on treatment options. It become very clear to me the surgeon Proothi was more concerned with not making his buddies in the field look bad rather than providing me the clarity I deserved as a paying patient. I went back a couple of weeks later complaining of jaw pain and swelling, I was told he has a consent ins policy and even if his lawyers wanted to settle he'd have to give the ok. Horrific man with no conscience! I'm left with out the ability to eat on the left side of my mouth and constant pain in my jaw and headaches.

She continuously updated me throughout every appointment, and consulted with me for every procedure to confirm I wanted the work done. She even told me truthfully when something was not in her exact skillset. I've never found a more trustworthy dentist. She did such a good job that a boss once inspected my teeth and said he saw no work done. He didn't even realize was looking at temporary caps! You absolutely can't underestimate the importance of finding an extraordinary dentist. Dr. Shapiro and her staff are dependable, trustworthy and exceptionally talented. Well worth every trip. I was very mad that she didn't tell me while working on my fillings. Again- this was about 3 years ago so she might have gotten better. I'm just very aggravated, because current dentist would be able to complete that task, however my insurance will not cover it since they're not cavities anymore. So, I decided to look around and found Dr. Park at Leading Edge. Pulling up to Selden... I was extremely hesitant. The office is in a bit of a run down medical strip mall. The parking lot is big and there are a few flowers and bushes by the office but overall it is somewhat ah old...maybe from the 1970s? Once inside Leading Edge, well things were the same. The AC was blasting away. I immediately wished i was wearing a sweater.A few people were waiting in old chairs. Everyone was staring at their phone. There was a large TV screen on one wall showing some game show. The receptionists sat in a small off shoot of the office. They were very attentive, fast, and professional! Though still hesitant, I was somewhat at ease. After a wait of a few minutes I was led by a dental assistant into the "operating area". The room they put me in was sparse but professional. Super clean. Computers and brand new modern dental equipment. Unfortunately there was a large TV in the room showing a kind of MTV kind of show. The history of rock and roll. Oh, how I hate the music from the 1950s! HATE. Anyway --- Dr. Park came into the room. He was young, smart, and professional. He looked at my x-rays and examined my teeth. He agreed that the tooth ( left upper molar that had root canal a long time ago ) needed to be pulled. He explained everything to me. The whole process of extraction and implantation. The dental assistant sent me off to billing. I received an itemized proposal which was 50% of the Manhattan guy. Fifty - percent! An appointment was made for the extraction and to make a long story short --- everything went very smoothly. Two weeks later I returned to have the extraction. They even called me the next day to check up on my condition. And now for the implant! I am almost looking forward to it...Almost.

I can't chew now on BOTH sides because of his failed procedure that wasn't even needed in the first place! I foolishly went back to him, and he changed the white filling to a silver filling. That did nothing and now I'm still in extreme pain. I'm so furious at this man for taking weeks out of the quality of my life. I'm chewing with my two front teeth and in immense pain because of him. He is a sloppy dentist (shavings of the filling were falling down my throat), he's hard to understand, he's extremely pushy and aggressive, his dental assistant hardly speaks a word to you, and his equipment seems decades old. Far and away, he is the worst excuse of a dentist I've been to.

He explained all of my options thoroughly and encouraged me to take part in choosing the treatment plan that was best for me. His staff made the experience even better--Lucy, the office manager, Kiersten at the front desk, and Celine, his assistant, were all so kind, patient, and understanding. If you do, keep your original quote and your receipts in case they try to bait and switch you too. Thankfully, we have all of our paper work. This would be zero stars if it was permitted due to them attempting to rob us. Stay far away from this place!
