Pros: -Flexible appointment hours -Very courteous staff, calling was easy, the lady who cleaned my teeth was very nice and understanding that I haven't been to the dentist in a while/my anxiety issues with dentists -Dr. who came in after my cleaning has been a dentist for a long time/highly experienced, funny and spends his free time serving the country with the Coast Guard (I asked because his office is covered in aviation photos, etc.) I think he said the Auxiliary it's called? -In Patchogue in a convenient location with their own very large parking lot. No concern parking, paying a meter, etc. -Takes my insurance -Got a free goodie bag when I left with toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, etc. since it was an annual cleaning Cons: -Is unfortunately a little bit of a drive from me, but to be honest I have a lot of anxiety going to the dentist like others so I'll likely continue to go here. My cousin has been going for years and made the recommendation. -Found out one of my rear teeth has a cavity, I assumed it did....getting it taken care of here. read more

My lifelong dentist, Dr. Absatz joined practices with "Granati" ,who shouldn't even be called a doctor, and it's such a shame. I honestly feel bad writing this only because Dr. Absatz is an amazing dentist. This has NOTHING to do with him. He is fantastic. The 1 star is for Granati. I had booked with Dr. Absatz in July but ended up getting switched to Granati since he was on vacation. I figured how bad could he be? The man walked into the room having a conversation with either himself or someone who wasn't listening from the hall. He kept carrying on about random topics (none of which involved my teeth or the X-rays). It was extremely hard to follow him. It seemed like he either smoked a pound of marijuana, was on heavy prescription medication, or was in the room with the laughing gas for too long. It seriously reminded me of speaking to someone who was high on drugs. Extremely hard to follow, back and forth from one topic to the next. Making zero sense. Barely looked at my mouth and was out the door. & when I mean barely, someone winking would have had a better view of my mouth than him. Aside from all of this, I booked again for December with Absatz and figured I wouldn't have to deal with any of this nonsense again. This brings me to my most recent visit, one week ago. I came in for my appointment that was booked 6 months in advance, and the woman at the desk acted like I was a walk in and told me they don't accept my insurance. I let her know 6 months ago they did and I had an appointment. She told me that I have an honest face (I was wearing a mask) and she's sure I'm telling the truth. Jackie, the dental hygienist I had during this experience, was very pleasant and well educated. She even numbed my mouth so I wouldn't experience any discomfort during the cleaning. This is something she offered to do, I didn't need to ask her. Very kind and you can tell she knows her stuff. After she was all done I was surprised to see Granti come stumbling into the room. Again he was speaking to someone who wasn't there and rambling on not making any sense. Number 1 I didn't think my appointment was with him, and number 2 he obviously wasn't having an off day last time. He specifically said he has had Covid Covid before and wants to just get "omicron" and get it over with. That doesn't seem very professional to me, but ok. Then he started rambling on about the Simpson's, coney island, and someone with lung cancer who hugs people. Then he started talking about women and how they look. He mentioned the dental hygienists mother and how she looks my age, and not that I look old, but the woman's mother looks young. Then he carried on about how his "fiancée" and someone else are going to fight over his credit card at the mall. I had NO IDEA WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. But I do know that he didn't look at my mouth AGAIN. How is this guy a dentist??? He even has his own "parking spot" but in the two times I've seen him, haven't seen him do a thing but carry on about his personal business. The icing on the cake is this. I ended up with a sore in my mouth after the cleaning. Right in the area where the vacuum sits. It is the day before Christmas Eve and it's been almost a week and it's still bothering me. I called up requesting an antibiotic to maybe get rid of something that was more than likely caused by bacteria. It took two phone calls to hear that the dentist refused to send an antibiotic. The woman on the phone said if it's still irritated tomorrow call and we will send something. I said aren't you closed tomorrow? She said oh yea it's Christmas Eve. Right on their website it states they treat canker sores and cold sores with medicine. Maybe if the dentist had actually looked in my mouth he would have been able to see something brewing or irritation from the cleaning. So grinch granati refused to send a simple antibiotic and I will be left with an irritated bacterial infection in my mouth that was 100% caused by his dirty vacuum. Horrible, 100% do not recommend. If I had Medicaid and my insurance was FREE, I still wouldn't see this looney tune. read more

As one who is terrified of the dentist since I was a child I have to say that my experience with Dr Giranati today gave me much peace. I had left him for another dentist and had a bad experience... Leaving this dentist was a big mistake. Dr Giranati is truly amazing. The procedure I had this morning put me much at ease and besides from a little discomfort I have no pain whatsoever. I've been coming to see Dr. Granati since I was a kid and have to say he's great! My teeth are not naturally good, so I've had a lot of cavities and have needed other work done over the years. The Doc and his staff have always taken care of me. They always tell me like it is and I don't feel like I'm being sold anything. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good dentist! read more

The staff was nice and appt was easy to get...my issue is with the state of the office. It is in desperate need of a face lift. I was quite surprised by how shabby it was. This is a great dental office for a coward like me! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the dentists are gentile, capable, and concerned for their patients long-term dental health. Dr. Granati himself is a very interesting guy with a big personality. As much as I am uncomfortable going to the dentist, the folks at Dr. Granati's office make my visits as pleasant as possible! read more

Dr. Granati has been my general dentist for several years now and besides my semi-annual checkups he's capped one of my molars. I've always been happy with his work and bedside manner. The office is very clean and the staff is always friendly/courteous. The office has convenient hours (open on Saturdays even) and I've never experienced a long wait time. Dr. Granati has also helped me improve my dental hygiene by offering helpful advice regarding techniques and products. read more

I had a root canal done and a crown with post put in about 8 years ago by dr. Granati. Last week the crown and post came loose for the THIRD time. The first time it happened I went back to Granati's office and they cemented it back in and told me I was flossing incorrectly and caused the crown to come loose. When it popped out again this weekend I went to my current dentist and he first took an x-ray of my mouth and explained to me that the root canal was improperly done in the first place which caused more bacteria/decay etc and THAT IS WHY the crown would not stay put. So after having the crown recemented twice already I now have to have to see an endodontist to correct the root canal. I CLEARLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST and advise anyone reading this review to look elsewhere for proper dental work. read more

One star is too many for this raving lunatic! His office staff was nice and accommodating...however the Dr.'s performance left a lot to be desired! No chair side manner what so ever. I was treated with not an ounce of compassion while delivering some harsh news about my current dental state! The man berated his staff in front of three patience just never saw anything like it! Needless to say 24hrs later I picked up my x-rays and on my way to take care of my teeth which I plan on saving!!! My advice is stay clear of this shit show!!! read more

Dr Granati has been my dentist for my self , husband, sister and niece for 6 years. I have had crowns done in addition to check ups. He is very knowledgeable and informative when it comes to taking care of your teeth. The office staff is polite and helpful , the office hours are convenient (saturdays and evenings). There isn't a long waiting time to get an appointment. I highly recommend this office. read more
