They completed the oil change and let us know we didn't need to rotate our tires yet that they were too new and that would be needed at the next oil change. They explained to us how to get the mileage we needed on the car so they could do emissions. Didn't need a follow up appointment, pulled in this morning. They completed the emissions and I was out of there in 10 minutes. This place is crazy busy but I had no problem getting an appointment and getting taken care of. I'm so impressed that they were so honest and upfront about the tire rotation. They could've easily done that and just charged us even though it wasn't necessary. Definitely will be back to this place anytime the car needs anything. Was able to schedule the appointment online, which is so convenient! And, really nice friendly people!

When my adult daughter takes her car in, they still call her dad with updates instead of her, but we can get that fixed. We appreciate the ability to drop a car off and leave the keys in the safe drop box. They're also realistic about when they will be able to work on a car, and what kinds of work they do. I still prefer my husband to handle all things car-related (Empowered AND old school?) But I know that when I need to, I can talk to the JC folks and they'll treat me fairly. I don't need to worry about being discriminated against because I'm a woman or ignorant about cars (even though I am both.) I read the review by Suzy G a few months ago. I'm was shocked that JC totally screwed up and caused such distress and expense for her. Yet, I respect that they owned up to their mistake publicly. That speaks volumes. When I figured out they had a st charles location I was happy because it was closer to home. The car was overheating so I took it to them. The said they ran a pressure test, it was my head gasket(s), and would cost me $6000.00 to fix. I then took it to another mechanic who ran a pressure test that clearly showed it was just a water pump and it cost me under $500. So they either never ran a pressure test, and just made something up, or they have no idea what they are doing! Either way, I will NEVER give them another dime of my money.

I'm typically particular about Honesty and Integrity because I completely despise inflated prices and purposeful misdiagnoses. When it comes to auto repair, there is nothing more despicable than a mechanic that gets over on it's customer for unnecessary repairs and more money going down the drain. Rich who I believe owns Budde Brothers has got my car running well when I needed it. Every time I take my car in to places like Car X, Firestone, or even another small business owner like Olympia Auto in St. Peters, I get inflated prices and unnecessary prescribed auto symptoms. Instead, Richard who's always kind and friendly, told me the truth about what my car really needed, and because of this, I ended up paying a whopping $510 less for Xmas. Well Merry X-mas Richard and company, because you are my families go to guy's. The other auto centers should've got some coal as far as I'm concerned. Just because of the money I saved and honesty he gave, I asked if he takes tips. He told me to put my money away because he wouldn't accept it. Once around the summer I noticed my seat belt not working. I took it into the dealer and they told me it would cost me $100 just for them to take a look at it. Later on that day, I called Rich, and he told me to bring it on in right away. He told me to wait one minute, took some DW-40, and fixed my seat belt completely by releasing the gook out of it. He charged me $10 instead of the easy $200 I would've probably paid at the dealer. Sometimes, he let's me bring in my own parts just to save money! I could go on and on, but I believe I've done enough justice. Please, I beg you, go to this place for your car service. I would not recommend this location to anyone. I went in to get my front left tire replaced due to…read morea bubble on the sidewall. Instead, they replaced the front right tire because of a mistake in how the front desk entered the work order. That's fine--mistakes happen. However, when they brought me into the back to talk to the technician, he stated, word for word, that there was a bubble near the valve stem on the front right tire, which is why it was replaced. I regularly inspect my tires after hitting potholes, especially because I have low-profile tires. I told the manager that if there truly was an issue near the valve stem, there should be no problem taking a reference photo by putting the tire back on the rim and airing it up. There turned out to be no issue with the front right tire after doing this. At that point, I had a new tire installed on the front right, and they had moved my previously good-condition front right tire to the front left. All seemed well--so I thought. The first day I drove to work the following week (the first time I reached highway speeds since the service), my steering wheel started shaking. When I got to work, I checked and found that they had completely removed all the balance weights from both of my front rims and hadn't rebalanced the tires. During my initial visit, I had clearly told them that I had an alignment, balance, and rotation done just a month prior. This was my first and last experience with Plaza on West Clay Street in St. Charles. You can't rely on them to get it right the first, second, or even third time. Please, please, please make sure you understand your vehicle well so you don't get taken advantage of by the dishonest people at this West Clay location.
