Corporate research showed their typical patrons were women who viewed themselves as unique gift givers. This moved the company to make stores warm and less masculine. Store associates took the title "Gift Advisers" with the premise that interactions with customers were conversations between two friends coming up with a gift idea. The store nicely organized with many things to choose from. They sell items to commemorate all occasions such as birthdays, graduations, birth of a baby, and retirement to name a few. They had a sale going in which was buy one item, get a second item 50% off everything in the store. The also provide free engraving while you wait. The staff was very attentive and helpful. My daughter chose a lovely bracelet which had a round charm attached to allow engraving. The prices were reasonable especially with a second item for the additional discount. Overall this is a nice store with a great selection of gifts!

A family friend brought my two daughters there last week…read more The experience was fine for them, however, this place does not advertise that the owner is extremely religious, plays Christian worship music, and writes scripture on the bags when the items are picked up. If that aspect of the business isn't specifically advertised, it can be a bit off putting for someone who doesn't know what they're walking into. Our biggest issue stems from that fact that this place took pictures of my children and put them on their social media. My wife reached out via chat on Instagram and was ignored. My wife called the business and talked directly to the owner and was met with indifference. She said that the Instagram account was ran.by someone else and she would reach out before pushing my wife off the phone. It was eventually removed and replaced, sarcastically, with a picture of my children with yellow smiley faces blocking them. The Instagram account also blocked my wife who only asked for the pictures to be removed. It wasn't until after this that we saw that she also posted pictures of our children to FACEBOOK and those weren't removed. We tried calling again, during business hours, and the phone was off. So I went there and spoke to her myself. I explained to her that putting images of children is against Rhode Island law. After making me wait, she got on her own phone and all of a sudden had access. She deleted the pictures and I went on my way. I don't recommend this place unless you're a religious zealot looking to spend the afternoon with an insufferable Karen who thinks breaking the law is ok because she's "always done it."

Since we aren't locals to the area, she gave us amazing recommendations for the next time we visit. This store is so beautiful and felt so welcoming. They had a huge selection of the most beautiful vintage Halloween decor. I could've spent hours here! I CANNOT wait to go back!! This week I had one of those wonderful experiences at the store. Daughter had seen the airplane for sale on the five and below website And they did have some when I called the used to hearing Newport Avenue. They had to give me the number of the North Attleboro store on route one which is Washington Street when I called that store again the experience was wonderful. They were kind helpful. she put me on hold a man while she went to go get it. They sure had one. They held it behind the counter until the next day because I was working you couldn't get there that night when I got there. I brought them her plant just to say thank you for all the trouble so she went through everybody so kind and helpful. Explain how you read the cash system and stuff worked and just thought that they were just really into their job. They really wanted to help the customer. They really want you to walk away with the one thing you've been looking for and I absolutely did.

I usually wouldn't post this but my group and i had SUCH an awful experience at barrington books…read moretoday it was awful: My group came in and this lady with brown hair yelled at us because we had drinks and didn't see the cart/sign, I understand that it was further down next to the shop but it wasn't right next to the door so we didn't see it. When we saw said this and apologized she rudely told us it was right there and proceeded to get close to us and asked us to leave, we had passed 2 other workers when we walked in and they hadn't said anything, we also saw an older lady with her grandchild and she had a drink. It felt like she was targeting us as we were the only people of color, she proceeded to follow us out and watch us through the window. She was also berating us while we were leaving. The issue isn't the drink policy but the way she went about it felt very aggressive, racist and hostile.

I called a couple of places in the area and it was clear folks were trying to give me the run around and were being shy in their estimates. One place quoted me a truly unreasonable price for just a simple matte. I've gotten plenty of things matted and have done plenty a matte myself. No one ever charged what they told me. Lucky for me, I called up Jerry's Artarama next. I got a really good estimate for my frame but the framer was also honest about how pricy things could get with certain materials. Throughout the whole experience, I was never blindsided. Fortunately for me I also was able to take advantage of their custom framing sale. And there is another 10 percent off for members! When I first came in, it was clear the framer was sensing where I wanted to go with things, rather than leading me to the obviously most expensive options. She gave me solutions using frames they already have made (they have a large selection for reasonable prices) and also what I could do to make things fancier for extra. She showed me the difference between the museum plexiglass and regular plexiglass and explained that the major difference is UV protection. She also gave me the samples to compare for myself and choose, and we agreed on just appearance they are rather similar. I ended up going for museum grade but I really appreciated how she showed me all of my options and the prices and let me decide. She also helped me pick a frame that they could order in time and helped me choose which frame and matte width looked best. Even the rush pricing was not exorbitant. When I came to pick things up, it was wrapped, wired with bolts, matted, plastic protected, and ready for shipping. I came out of the experience with first class work/service and I never once felt preyed on. I think some framers can take advantage of the fact that a lot of people don't know a lot about the framing process or what is reasonable and so I really appreciated how professional and friendly Jerry's Artarama was through the entire process. I totally recommend them to both art professionals or to anyone who wants to frame a special photo. I am so incredibly happy with how everything worked out and will be back soon!
