They provide a monthly calendar with each days event such as; workout schedule (chair aerobics, chair yoga and chair volleyball), field trips (Walmart, outdoor market, restaurant, etc), knitting class, bible study, card playing, just to name a few. Lunch is free and transportation is free, which is a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. It started to become time consuming and gas consuming to drive 20 min each way and each day for her to just stay 2 1/2 hours. Some stay the whole day and some may come for just an hour. Side about the transportation, you have to attend Mandarin Senior Center for about two weeks before you can get approval to ride the centers bus. In addition, they always do something special for each Holiday. This will be my mom's first Christmas at this center and she's pretty excited they are having a party with live music. Shortly after, someone finally approached us and explained that they had been busy taking an order over by the bowling lanes. I understand that happens, but as a guest it was confusing because there was no direction and we didn't know who was supposed to be helping us. The menu was okay--not a huge selection, but we found things everyone wanted. We ordered loaded nachos, boneless chicken wings, corn dogs, a few beers, and two iced teas. The food was good and our server was okay, but the interaction felt more like taking our order than actual hospitality.
