While we had…read morea great time at the beach cottage we rented on St. Simon's Island in August 2020, we ultimately had so many issues with the management that we do not recommend this beach rental company to others especially when there are many others to choose from. When I booked the property online, I got an email receipt that said I was being charged $500 for travel insurance. I emailed the management immediately and 3 days later, the owner responded and said that was a mistake and "did not know why" I received that. That response did not instill in me any confidence in this management. They also did not send an updated receipt. Then I asked what the address of the beach cottage was and was told that the management would let me know "a few weeks" before our arrival. One week prior to leaving, we still did not know the address of the rental property. I emailed again and this time and was told, they would inform us "a few days prior to arrival." Finally, it was the day before we were leaving and we still did not know the address of the rental property! Again, we were told that someone from the office would let us know the day of arrival. This is just so strange! I've rented through Airbnb, Home Away, VRBO and we never ran into this where the management refused to let someone who's paid for and booked a property know what the address of the property is until the DAY OF arrival. Mind, we live over 5 hours drive away so it's not like we would have driven there early. The first day we checked into the property and the location was fantastic and conveniently located. The beach cottage itself was clean and just like the photos. We followed the directions given by the management to try to connect to the WIFI and repeatedly received an error message saying the password was incorrect. Immediately called the office and the lady on the phone said she didn't know why that was happening and said she would contact the owner, Benjamin, and inform him. During the entire 6 day stay, we never got an email, phone call, or visit from the owner regarding our lack of access to WIFI. Eventually, I was able to guess the correct wifi password and get online (Verizon has little to no cellular service on St. Simon's Island so we needed wifi). Later that week, I emailed the office to inform them of the CORRECT wifi password and got an email response that did not apologize for our inconvenience. After our stay, we left the property in excellent condition and went home. The day we departed the rental property, I emailed the company to ask when I would receive my $500 damage deposit. No reply. Then I called the office the following week and the lady on the phone said it would take "a few weeks" for the refund to go through. I waited 2 weeks. Still no refund. On the 3rd week of waiting, I called again and spoke to the same lady. She said it could take up to "3 weeks" to receive my refund. 4th week arrives and I STILL do not have my $500 refund!! I sent a very exasperated email to the manager asking why I still have not received my refund. Finally, I received a response from the owner/manager saying that "this is the first I've heard of this" and that gave me an electronic receipt informing me that the company was issuing me a refund on Sept 8. I checked out of the property on August 16th and had waited 4 weeks for nothing. Over 30 days later after checking out of the property, I have finally had my $500 damage deposit refunded. This has been an extremely stressful process trying to get my deposit returned. I've used many other vacation rental properties and everywhere else, I have gotten my deposit returned AUTOMATICALLY and within 5 business days after checking out. I firmly believe if I had not repeatedly and tenaciously chased down my deposit, the company would have conveniently forgotten about it and never given it to me. The GA Beach Rentals management communicates poorly and seems very disorganized. I absolutely do not recommend this rental property to others. In the future, I will stick to Airbnb or VRBO.

I'm not sure why that wasn't charged prior to our trip, when it actually "went into effect," but their accounting error shouldn't be my problem. Their unfettered access to my credit card information, and readiness to charge it, now leaves me feeling pretty unsettled.

First issue was the pools which they claim is "heated" on the website and everywhere else, and if it is heated it's only to a frigid 72 degrees. The worst was when, without warning the bathroom sink started filing up with water when the faucet was off due to a pipe clog. Maintenance informed me it was likely due to a clog in the building from earlier. Water started overflowing onto the bathroom floor. I threw as many towels we had to stop it from flowing everywhere into the floor of the main room. No big deal, stuff happens, but I requested housekeeping come clean up the towels at 4:00pm and at 7:00pm still nothing had happened. Told multiple folks, maintenance and the front desk about the mess THEIR clogged pipes caused, and it still took a while for them to send anyone to fix THEIR problem. Insanely poor service-- I would not recommended this place.

We usually stay…read morehere when visiting because we have dogs that need to go to the beach with us, and Ocean Walk is very pet friendly. These condos are privately owned and can be rented through VRBO; some cheaper than others. So far we have stayed in 2 different units, and have enjoyed both. Amenities at Ocean Walk include 2 pools (1 heated), walking trails, ponds, and tennis courts. I recommend this as a place to stay if you have pets and need to get away, or you just need a weekend in paradise.

We stayed in B-4, which is an older 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath condo. It has beautiful wood floors on the first floor. The master was large with the bath attached. Two other rooms, one had a queen the other two full size beds. Very comfortable and clean. There is access to a great pool, work out facilities and they even have an outdoor ping pong table next to a rope swing (which our kids enjoyed). It's only about 1/2 mike walk to the pier which was nice because it can be difficult to find a parking spot down at the pier. Although not located on the beach, it's not far from many of the more popular beach spots. I really enjoy it and will likely stay here again if available.

The condominium complex is a U shape, with a middle courtyard that leads out to the pool and private beach access. In the courtyard is a fountain and two hot tubs. One of which was out of order during our stay. At the pool most of the lounge chairs were "claimed" by beach towels. Not really the condos issue but I may as well mention how interesting the beach is. It's a bit of a trek to the actual beach through a marsh like area there's even a large tide pool, which stinks!! The home is very large and we had our entire families and some close friends here for our wedding. The adults and children absolutely loved it. This home has so many unique features that it would be difficult to pin point just one thing that sets it apart. I loved the architecture. Others fell in love with the decor. We all enjoyed the courtyard entertainment area with infinity edge pool and spa. The Hibachi grill was such a fun way to prepare meals on the covered veranda. There is enough space to be able to enjoy coming together as a group, but also to enjoy the privacy and beauty of this world class home. Everything worked flawlessly. The only issue we had was with the management company. A gentleman showed up on our last day there with his dog and did a walk through of the property. His dog urinated twice on the veranda and he then accused us of having a pet there because his dog never does that unless there is another animal nearby. Really?!?!?! We had no pets or animals of any sort, and we had cleaned the home to a standard higher than when we received it. We also experienced a lack of what I would consider normal toiletries, but I wouldn't have even mentioned it had I not read it in a previous comment from another guest. Overall, I believe this to be the most impressive home we have stayed in. Everything was fantastic with the exception of our one interaction with the management company. The views are breath taking, the home and amenities are fabulous. If you are considering staying here, you should watch the video tour on YouTube. I hope the owner's see this and I hope they have changed management companies. A property this spectacular shouldn't be negatively impacted by the people who are supposed to be taking care of the details. We hope to return in the near future for an anniversary and bring our entire wedding party again. We would highly recommend this property to anyone.
