First, it is poor planning for a facility this size to only have one elevator. Out of order on a weekend is really bad. I had to climb up to the 3rd floor with my suitcase, computer, etc. No offer of help from the front desk. Second issue is the internet connection. Very very frustrating to try and even check email. It kept going in and out...had to log back in every time. I finally gave up. The room was nice, clean and well equipped with everything I needed. It had a small fridge and a microwave which was nice. Breakfast was decent with lots of choices but they close at 10:00. Nice eating area and it was clean. There is coffee and tea available all the time but the tea choice was very limited. Check out was easy as well. Good location but not in y to be village area where all the shops, pier and restaurants are.

Our room was super clean. We were impressed with how big and comfortable it was. The beds were a bit high but very firm and comfortable. The temperature was easy to control on the wall. A bit of noise carried into the room on floor one from the hall but nothing too bad. We loved the plantation shutters in our room most. See website for location, reservations and great prices. The location is perfect across from Starbucks, McDonalds, Winn Dixie and more! Come to Saint Simon and stay here happy!

Given the huge price we certainly expected a much better experience than we got. Here's what happened: *. The washer and dryer made our clothes stink. I'm not sure what the point in having laundry service is if thats going to happen * The room had several lights without working bulbs, the furniture had stains on it, and a big chunk of tile that was missing under an ottoman (see photo). I would have expected them to fix this. * We had a large balcony overlooking the pools and the beach. One afternoon several random workers were walking around the balcony cleaning with hoses. Since the doors were unlocked and the curtains were open we would have appreciated a heads-up but didn't get any warning. (See photo) * Every day when we showered it literally took 7 minutes for the water to heat up enough to take a shower * My wife got shrimp tacos at southern tide and there were only 2 small shrimp per taco, which seemed a little chincy for a $50 lunch * Good luck trying to figure out how to use the phones in the room, although I suppose it doesn't matter since when we called the front desk we were left on hold * The hot tub in the fitness center didn't work on one of the days * I'm not sure what they were pumping out near the front door to the entrance of the beach club on the last couple of days of our trip (see photos) but it sure smelled like raw sewage. We certainly weren't expecting that and it definitely took away from our enjoyment * They didn't have the right size coffee filters for the coffee maker (obviously, by itself the coffee grounds in our morning coffee weren't enough to complain about, but taken with everything else it was emblematic of the entire stay) * When we went to the front desk to get our final bill the employee didn't ask about our stay. I suppose she already knew we weren't nearly as excited about the property as we were the last time but it would have been nice to have been asked. We paid five star money to stay at the Cloister but do not believe the "value" of what we got was even remotely close to what we paid for, certainly not what we reasonably expected. At these prices it's fair to expect a great experience, but we didn't get one If we ever stay here again it won't be at the beach club. And, I'll never extend another stay here.

Someone else might complain about a leaky faucet in the room's kitchen sink but that is reportable and fixable. The front desk, kitchen and cleaning staff were all pleasant. They have a bright area for breakfast and a lounge for people to hang out in. The breakfast selection looks like the typical offerings in other similar hotels and yet when I tasted the omelets (typically dry and tasteless)-- they were soft and tender! The one bedroom room was nice and spacious. The possible downside is that it is near the airport. Having said that, we have not heard anything during the night.

The pool wasn't cleaned until Friday, and most of the breakfast items on during the week were cold or stale. The front desk attendant during the week was not friendly and seemed more focused on her phone than the guests. They advertise s'mores from 6-9 PM, but she didn't put anything out until someone complained -- and even then she only set out a single tiny square of chocolate per kit. It's a small thing, but if a hotel offers an amenity, it should be done properly. The gentleman working Friday night handled it the right way with two squares and was actually friendly. I also don't think they shampooed the carpets since being built, there were stains on our room carpet & when I walked to together ice & came back to our room the bottom of my feet were black. Overall, the stay was okay, but the service and attention to detail were disappointing for a Hilton brand.

The staff is EXTRAORDINARY!! We were delighted that everyone was very friendly and helpful, ready with suggestions or just a kind conversation. The rooms are clean and well appointed. We took advantage of the complimentary hot breakfast and had the pleasure of meeting Petula, who truly made our morning! One afternoon our daughter was looking to make some hot tea and yet again, Petula saved the day! Having such kind and good energy folks truly does make all the difference to us. As my husband said, from the bartender to the housekeeping staff to the front desk management, the folks at The Inn were just top notch! My entire family enjoyed our stay and we are looking forward to future visits.

We were in town for a wedding, and while a majority of the wedding party stayed at The Cloister, it was more economical for us to stay at the Inn--and we had no regrets! The service was wonderful, rooms were comfortable, ample well-lit parking was appreciated, and the free breakfast was a really convenient touch. There is a top golf swing suite in the lobby directly next to the lobby bar. The bar had a small food menu with bar type bites and served free popcorn--the bar was open until 10pm while we were there in Nov '24. The hotel is right next door (0.1-2 miles) to a shopping center with a movie theatre, grocery store, local boutiques, and a couple restaurants. Definitely would recommend for your visit to St Simons Island!!
