They show their screened in porch which was important to me since we were bringing our dog. The screens are in desperate need of repair, especially the lower one's. One big push and my dog could have easily broken free. Portions of the porch floor are rotted to the point that if you step too hard you feel like you could break through. The patio furniture was filthy. For a screened in porch you would think that they could have at least wiped the chairs and table down prior to our arrival. As soon as you walk in the house the smell of mold hits you. I looked up at the ceiling in the living room and right next to a vent above the couch was very noticeable mold. It was awful breathing that in. It being next to a vent spread the smell everywhere. The TV in the living room did not work at all. The little fenced in back yard was completely flooded and unusable. Someone from the rental company came out to look at the TV and had no idea if the problem was the remote or the TV itself. They offered to replace it but it could take a while. I didn't want to be trapped in that house any longer breathing in that mold while someone tried to replace it. When I pointed out the mold, he said, "yeah, rain can do that." No, sir, neglect can do that. It rains on my roof and I don't have mold in my house. For the money they charge they should take better care of their properties. I will never go back or use them again. P.S. There was construction of a new house going on right across the street which was very noisy. Would have been nice to know before we arrived. It drove my dog crazy.

We stayed in B-4, which is an older 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath condo. It has beautiful wood floors on the first floor. The master was large with the bath attached. Two other rooms, one had a queen the other two full size beds. Very comfortable and clean. There is access to a great pool, work out facilities and they even have an outdoor ping pong table next to a rope swing (which our kids enjoyed). It's only about 1/2 mike walk to the pier which was nice because it can be difficult to find a parking spot down at the pier. Although not located on the beach, it's not far from many of the more popular beach spots. I really enjoy it and will likely stay here again if available.

The walls and cabinets were stained, closet doors were broken, and the floor was filthy--there was sand and grit under the living room rug, which caused one of us to slip and fall. We spent our first hours vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping just to make the place livable. For the price and reputation, basic cleanliness and maintenance should be a given. If the on-site beach access is unusable, that should be clearly disclosed ahead of time, and housekeeping/maintenance standards need serious attention. Until the beach access is restored and units are properly cleaned and repaired, we cannot recommend Hodnett Cooper Vacation Rentals on St. Simons Island.

Three months later, she charged the difference to my credit card anyway with no notification she was doing so.
