I picked them over a handful of other contractors despite the negative reviews posted online about this company. I was told a 2 man crew would be out to assemble and mount my overhead garage storage well one guy showed up and I saw some bolts not tightened at the end I fixed but recently I started using the shelf and it's leaning really bad in the one corner I wrote sandy on yelp about my concern and even gave photos they read my message and never replied lesson learned never hire again others beware!!!!! And it's not even a lot of weight on it just looked in corner it came out of wall as I can see where he drilled many holes I'm guessing looking for a stud which he didn't find and just half ass the job. I used SRO2 for a storm door installation and replacement of a 4 way shower control valve. I was completely satisfied with the jobs. Both were finished in a timely manner and the price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend the business and would use them again. read more

Paid for them to assemble a grill for a Wednesday 11-2pm timeframe through Amazon. Lady named Sandy texted and called to tell me he would show up at 8am instead. Ok. 8am nothing, 11am nothing. I call and the guy said he was running late, fine, then it started raining so he called me to see if he could come by the next morning. Ok. Next morning comes and goes. I call and He says he's working on a difficult project but will be here in a couple hours. Hours pass. At 7pm he calls to ask if he can come by the next day. Decided to cancel as it is clear there was never any intention to complete the job and I had been stuck at home for 2 full days waiting for them to show up. The guy was nice on the phone, which is why I'm not saying his name. Seems like this was more an issue with management planning then with the technician. read more

We contacted them to do a small job at our house. Mounting TVS and shower rods. No problems. Based on that experience, we asked for a recommendation for an electrician to move a couple of outlets. We contacted him and set the date. We had a brief text exchanges prior to the day. The day came and he called us to day that there was death in the family and he would have to reschedule. We never heard from him again. Was disappointed but moved on to another electrician. Also, the electrician we hire did the job for 1/3 the price we were quoted. When I spoke with Sandy (the owner) she said that he had been in the hospital on a ventilator for 3 weeks due to Covid Couple of problems with that was that we had been in contact with him during his supposed hospitalization. Second is if true, they should contact all of the jobs as to why a no show/no call. We had also booked a service to hang another TV. Was given the date by Sandy for Feb 11th at 2 pm. My wife received a confirming text. Feb 11th 2 pm comes and goes. I call and speak with Sandy at 2:30. She told me the appointment had been cancelled which was news to us. Neither I nor my wife would or did cancel appointment. She said she had someone in North Salisbury who was doing work for her in North Salisbury and would be there within the hour. I call back 2 hours later to find out the status. Sandy says that he was still working in North Ocean City and would try to contact him to confirm. I accepted that answer but I called back to cancel a few minutes later. Lousy customer service and very dishonest with the excuses. read more

I ordered an Amazon home service that was supposed to be fulfilled by this company. It was a 12x12 pergola build. My receipt said it included 8hrs of labor. I sent the make/model information with my order. I scheduled the appointment about 10days ahead of time. A few days before the technicians name was sent to me. The morning of I got a text at 5am saying he would be here at 8am. So we moved 400+lbs of supplies from the garage to the outside space. At 8:35am I received another text saying the technicians boss would be calling because it's at least a 2-3 person job and they only planned for one. I was also told it probably wouldn't happen that day and I would likely be charged $65 an hr for anything over 3 hrs. Now- I'm not sure where the communication breakdown was. I don't know if it was Amazon or this company. HOWEVER- this company surely had enough information well before 8:35am on the morning of the installation to figure out it as a 2 person job. The ONLY reason that I gave 2 stars is because someone that worked there was able to refer me to a company that came out that same day to do the job. It cost me $250 more than my original plan. I also called amazon with little help. $25 for the inconvenience. NEVER again. read more

Hired this company in December 2020 to mount a 65" TV. The first warning sign should have been the first time the TV fell from the wall while the tech was still present because it was mounted incorrectly. The tech bought wall anchors and finished the job. Seven months later, the TV fell from the wall again. The reason? The tech didn't mount the TV to any of the studs in the wall and eventually the weight of the TV caused the bolts to give way leaving gaping holes in my wall. I was able to hire a different company the next day to remount the TV and they pointed out the reasons the TV fell--primarily, shoddy workmanship. When I contacted the company for a refund, they denied that it was their fault and refused to reimburse me. But that's not the only issue I had with this same company. In January 2021 I contacted them for drywall patching and repainting. The quality of work was so amateurish, it looks like a child did it. The owner of the company, Sandy Whittington, came to inspect the work and promised to send someone else to fix the mess. That was the last time I heard from Sandy. However, one of the painters continues to contact me because he was never paid. In both cases, this company failed to stand by the quality of their work and services. I had no choice but to hire someone else because the company informed me the earliest they could send someone over was a week later. In the meantime I was going to have to see the TV dangling dangerously from the wall, anchored by one remaining screw that clung tenaciously to the cracked drywall. Failure on their part to own up to their crappy services has made it clear that the only remedy to this problem is to sue them in court. Use this company at your own risk! read more

Bottom Line: I do not recommend SRO2 Handyman Services LLC at all. Don't take my word for it, before you decide to hire them, please read the reviews (and the terrible owner responses) on Google, Yelp, and the BBB since I know for a fact that business owners cannot remove those. Summary: I contracted SRO2 Handyman Services LLC, owned and operated by Ms. Sandra (Sandy) Whittington, on November 5th, 2020. The scope of the work was to do some renovation work on our condo in Ocean City, MD. My first sign of problems was we had had a long conversation on the phone about start dates and the full scope of work but then the date shifted and everyone on her team (including her) was confused about the scope of work. It is almost as if she had forgotten our whole conversation. She made apologies about having too many other projects going on so we decided to move forward after agreeing to a price which now included changes due to the date shifting. I paid the deposit so the work could start since my back was up against the wall. Her workers themselves seemed nice despite being overworked. Two of them (Juan and Christian) did good work and were "subcontractors" according to Sandy. They made some comments about Sandy not paying them and changing their scope but were terrified of her reporting them to "someone." What she considered "changes" were things we had explicitly agreed to in the beginning. In any case, over the course of the next two weeks, the bill and what she thought was the scope kept changing inexplicably and I had many many emails, texts, and phone calls with Sandy to realign. My wife who overheard these conversations named her "Scattered Sandy" because she could never keep things straight. Things would end with an agreement, and the next day it's as if the prior communications/agreements were forgotten so I would have to start the cycle again of sending her screenshots of texts/email and contemporaneous notes of phone calls to get back on the same page again. Sometimes the day would end with a half-hearted admission that was some confusion/problem on their end and other days we would agree to disagree so we could move forward. This continued until she declared she was done (I have photos to prove work was incomplete) and then I then I got hit with a huge bill on November 20, 2020 that was more than double the original amount. After ruining one more of our family days on the beach arguing with her and with her threatening legal action, we agreed to a final payment to end this headache on Saturday, November 21, 2020 which I Venmo-ed her immediately. All was quiet for a few months until their system started sending me invoices for about $1000 of unpaid work.. and then yesterday (September 14, 2021) SRO2 Handyman Services sent me a message saying if I didn't pay, they would report me to the credit bureaus on October 1. I reminded them again today that I have meticulously kept all my texts, emails, contemporaneous notes, ThumbTack and Thryv communications, Venmo records, invoices, invoice history, photos of incomplete work, etc. and will have to defend myself if she proceeded with reporting me to credit bureaus. While writing this review, I have gotten no less than 6 somewhat erratic messages over 9 minutes digging her heels in even more. Anyway, just as I thought my horrible experience was a one off... I decided to check the Google, Yelp, and BBB reviews... something I should have done before. I see I am just one of many who have been treated like this, so my personal recommendation is to avoid the hassle and steer very clear of SRO2 Handyman Services LLC. I actually give them zero stars for a multitude of reasons. First, the communication with the owner, Sandy Whittington is terrible. The absolute worst in my 60 years on this earth. She was extremely rude and unprofessional with me on the telephone. She accused me of changing the date of service too many times. We contracted with Lowes to have new cabinets, new countertops and a new sink/faucet installed. I didn't want to be bothered disconnecting and reconnecting the plumbing myself so we paid Lowes $328 to have this service performed by them. They subcontracted to SR02 Handyman Services. Ever since then, it has been nothing short of a nightmare. We kept receiving confirmations for plumbing to be disconnected prematurely. We didn't even know when our cabinets and countertops were coming in. It kept getting pushed back, waiting for the confirmation date on the countertops. Finally, we got the countertop confirmation and called SR02 Handyman Services to schedule them for disconnect and she blew a fuse. We agreed the plumbing was to be disconnected on Dec 7 as the new countertops were to be installed on Dec 8. Then, it was agreed they would return on Dec 9 to hook the plumbing back up. I received a confirmation text that our appointment was scheduled for Dec 7 @ 8:00 am. Shortly thereafter, another text changing it to Dec 7 @ 11:00 am, then another changing it to 1:00 pm, followed by another changing it back to 11:00 am, then yet another changing it to 2:00 pm. Now, they are a no-show after keeping us waiting all day and a new confirmation text says Dec 8 @ 8:00 am, followed by yet another confirmation for Dec 8 @ 11:00 am. This company has no clue how to run a business. If you click to manage your appointment, you get a login code sent by SMS that does not work. I have tried 6 times today alone. I dare not call Sandy Whittington back because she is a hot mess and I do not have any patience for her or her disrespectful attitude. So, if you are going to book a service with Lowes, better think again because this is the type of company they are in bed with. read more

BEWARE. Be prepared for deceptive wording on estimates, cost overruns, poor communication, unfriendly service, and the necessity of hiring someone else to fix and finish projects left undone. My partners and I have managed property for over 20 years. We hired SRO to restore a basement after some flooding. It was sort of an emergency, as all flooding is, but it was not a difficult project. But it was difficult to get SRO to come in with an estimate that fit our budget. And then it was difficult to decipher the wording of the estimate. Did the "total cost" shown, upon which we will be basing our hiring decision, include everything? The owner's voice-mail inbox message was garbled and unclear. This kind of poor communication should have been a warning sign. But they were the best of the bunch, and we needed to get started quickly, so we went with them. Seemed straightforward enough. SRO had difficulty with the tenant. To be fair, this can be a tenant who is difficult to please. But most pros can slough it off in a friendly way and get the job done. SRO apparently couldn't. Tenant concerns were met with rude rebuttals and SRO hurried out of there, leaving poorly finished elements of the project. (And, according to the tenant, with a bunch of the tenant's tools.) We had to bring in additional contractors to repair, finish and fix things SRO left unprofessionally done. Worse, SRO had a surprise in store for us. After charging the three approved payments covering the estimated (key word) total cost of the project, which we had approved and based upon which we had hired them, SRO went ahead and charged an additional amount to our credit card without alerting us to this charge. This charge turned out to be over 40% of the original estimate cost! What was it for? Additional things, they said! While the project was happening, we were never told there would be additional costs and overruns. If we had been told of overruns, we'd have worked it out professionally, the way we usually do. But SRO charged our card, breaking the bank and blowing the estimate cost, and causing a whole slew of legal hassles to follow on. When we tried to approach SRO to work out some settlement (reverse the charge, finish the job, everyone's happy), we were greeted with derision and outright belligerency. (And then an abrupt hang-up.) SRO's "estimates" are just that; beware of big additional charges hidden behind them. And beware of the "pro" who angrily blames a project's budget, and a nitpicky tenant, for slipshod, unfinished work. If you're thinking of working with SRO, get another estimate from someone else, and go with that other contractor. read more

I ordered services through Amazon to install a mailbox with post. The job was supposed to take place on a Wednesday. The handyman left a voicemail the day before stating he needed to reschedule because he was backed up with other jobs. I called him back and left a message with a suggestion of Friday or Wednesday the following week. I finally caught up with him on Thursday. By this time I had a message from Amazon stating my appointment time had changed to Tuesday. He said he was too busy on Friday, but could do it on Tuesday. I said I can't do it Tuesday, I have to work. He suggested Monday. I said I had an appointment that morning but could be home in the afternoon. He said fine. As I'm pulling up to the appointment on Monday I see a text and phone message. As soon as I can I call him and he says he wants to get to my house earlier, like between 10 and 10:30. I reminded him of our conversation and that I can't be home until 1pm. He says he has me scheduled for 10:30 and he can't make it at 1pm! He has other jobs scheduled then! What? He says he can do it on Tuesday. I reminded him that we already discussed that I work on Tuesday. It's like he totally forgot the whole conversation we had only a few days before. I told him to nevermind. On Wednesday I did the job myself. read more
