Considering I am not even close to knowledgeable on wines and spirits, I was glad to be treated so well. Ernie recommended many amazing wines in my price range, and though I didn't think I would, I left with a white wine that separates every four rows of grapes with oranges. Wow! It's a mimosa ready to go, essentially! Had it with breakfast, but Ernie also recommended it with dark chocolate. Life complete. I don't see why I would avoid being a regular customer here. The selection is fantastic, with a price range to fit most any need, but you can bet the quality of wines and spirits is amazing. You don't feel like this is just a typical run for a bottle of wine; it's an experience that, quite honestly, made my day so much better. This place made me want to be a regular customer without imposing it on me: they just do business with love for people and wines and spirits. Heck yes :)

Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful with our party's food and drink selections, and since it was my wife's birthday he even returned to absolutely belt out the happy birthday song. 10/10 The food itself was pretty good although a little pricey for a bierhaus. I love the beer garden-style layout where it's more communal and the benches are long and meant to be shared with other parties. We stopped by at 5pm Sunday evening and it was perfect timing, not too busy but still a good amount of other customers where it was fun to watch them take shots together but not too busy where service could have been slow. Our waiter was awesome, very attentive, quick, and continued pouring us drinks. I ordered the sausage platter with mashed potatoes with gravy and a side of spätzle. My food was absolutely delicious and while it did need some dipping sauces, there was mustard at the table which was nice. The mashed potatoes and gravy was some of the best I've ever had. My dad ordered the Kartoffeln for all of us to share. It was tasty with the applesauce but needed more garlic. At the end of dinner, my dad *had* to announce to the waiter that it was my birthday and I told the waiter it was true but to not sing to me. Well, he did sing, and boy, it was a performance for sure. All eyes were on us because our waiter when all out belting the notes perfectly and holding them, too. The restaurant was singing at their own pace. My face was red because I feel so awkward with birthday songs. However, the cake was SO good and worth the attention. I believe it was Black Forest cake and omg, it was delectable. All in all, this was a great place to celebrate my birthday with family and I can't wait to come back for a regular dinner.

WRONG--and delightedly so! The selection was pretty amazing, they even had the Rum Chata creamers I'd been looking for and unable to find at home! We chose a bottle of Prosecco and some smaller mini-bottles of things we'd wanted to try and headed to the checkout. There was an older man there, clearly known to the clerk, who was unable to use his debit card and was digging in his pocket for the money to buy a small bottle of high proof liquor. He was there a long time trying to get the right combination of crumpled bills and loose change to cover the cost of the bottle and I was reaching in my wallet to give him a 5 when he got the last bit from his many pockets and paid. The clerk was so kind, so patient and so sweet to this man. It made me smile from the inside out to know that there are still those who love their fellow man and can be kind at a time when it would be easy to have been harsh of word or action. So while I'd return for the selection on a future trip, I'd also be there for the kind and patient service, too! BRAVO!

The owner personally walked us through the different grapes and notes of each wine selected. Not to mention, you receive a small discount if you purchase any of the bottles being sampled. The prices are affordable for any budget, and this is definitely the place to pick up a bottle of something you've never heard of before. The wine is arranged by region and by grape, and the liquor is arranged by type. They even have a small fridge full of cold beer from local brewers. We'll absolutely return the next time we're in need of some libations. So thankful to have this little shop in the neighborhood!

First, this store is beautiful. It is arranged and decorated lovely. I never knew liquor and wine could look so good on a self. I could see myself here enjoying a drink sitting on the back couch. Second, they offer many unique brands and finds for all types of liquors and wines. Many I have never heard of but I was instantly offered a story behind every bottle Third, the manager allowed my friend and I to sample items that were his current favorite finds. How unique! Third, I read they have classes here to learn something new and drink something new! Fourth, I am buying from a local business that has been in operation for many decades. I will return here during all my Nashville visits!

Not sure what took me so long, but I get it now. Frugal MacDoogal is a large liquor/spirit store located in the Gulch on Division. We popped by out of curiosity and convenience, not needing anything, but we left with some ThC drinks, gin and some Fever Tree tonic. The store is well laid out, organized, clean and well kept...plus stocked! Service was friendly from entry to exit. Cashiers were nice, floor associates were friendly and even the guard had good energy. Pricing seemed standard on most things, not a big noticeable difference from other local stores, but the selection was unrivaled. Overall, I get why this spot is popular. It's a total vibe and I support it!

He was perfectly nice and told me to head inside to the front of the store and grab whatever I needed from their pile. As soon as I went inside and started looking, an older blonde lady at the register completely ruined the visit. She started interrogating me, demanding to know what I was doing and what I was mailing like it was any of her business. When I told her I was getting a box to mail a hat for an eBay sale, she got incredibly uptight and started power-tripping. She told me I could only take "one or maybe two" because they "save them for customers," completely disregarding that their own employee out back told me I could come in and take what I needed. When I told her that, she just got a terrible attitude and asked "what guy?" as if I was supposed to know his name. Her attitude was incredibly uncalled for and outright rude. I ended up just throwing the box back onto their pile and walking right out. If this is how they treat people, they can keep their boxes and their liquor. I won't be back.
