HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I could give 0stars I would! They sold me a car with a broken headlight. Illegal, for starters. Not to mention, ridiculously annoying. It's been over a month & half. Not only does my light still not work but they are ghosting me. Last text said they won't fix it now because they bought a new light that they didn't use (claim they fixed the original) and left a box in my car which I assumed was trash... but it actually had the light in it and I threw it out. I also had to rent a car for a week which they claimed they'd reimburse me and since they now are refusing to answer me I assume was a lie as well. There's so many other little details to add to how horrible this whole experience has been... I'm just over dealing with them and am going to eat the cost & hassle of figuring out this headlight for myself. I went to square auto to purchase a vehicle. Prior to the purchase I told them that the radio was not working properly and sound was not coming out of some of the speakers and that the mic was not working. I wanted the vehicle and said that I would leave a deposit and asked that they fix the vehicle and let me know when it is ready. The sales manager or GM Jimmy said that they did not except deposits for cars and that other people had been coming in to look at that car and he would not be able to hold it. He told me that he would set me up with an appointment for Tesla so that I could take it in and have the issue resolved. I hesitantly agreed and was told to bring it back the next day. When I brought it back the story suddenly changed and I was told by the service manager that they would have to take the vehicle and have it fixed, that it needed new speakers and they had to order them but they were on back order. I took the vehicle to Tesla directly and thought they got the diagnosis wrong the first time they figured out the issue and gave me the quote. Now I am told by Jimmy that he told me that I have to bring the vehicle to him for them to take it and have it fixed. That was not what he told me in the beginning. He is very cunning and calculated and prays on the vulnerability of other. The sales rep that sold me my car never even followed up with me to see how things were going and when I visited she did not answer even speak to me. They care more about making the sale than they do about their customers at this dealership. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. I bought a car two years ago and everyone was super nice, but now that I needed help to fix an issue with my car, they have been the WORST costumer service I have experienced in m life. I have paid for an extended insurance and I had to replace a part in my car that the cost was about $4,000.00 They claimed they replaced it, but they can't proof, and after calling the insurance, they don't have any register that the car was fixed. The only thing I want is a receipt (proof) that the car was fixed, and now it's been 4 months I'm trying to get the receipt and I don't get it. 4 months calling them almost every day, and the only thing they do, it's to avoid my calls and messages. They are horrible! They told me a vehicle had a warranty when it didn't AFTER I flew in from Ohio! They had my itinerary so they knew I was coming to drive the vehicle back. The vehicle needed an O2 sensor and it misfires and they were STILL trying ti get me to drive it back! No warranty they wanted me to purchase one for 6000 which was the price per the GM! I was not reimbursed for my flight, uber and now I'm stuck in Newark heading to the airport to try to car v a last minute flight before this snowstorm. I asked many times and was told everything was ok. Salesman apologized and said it was all on her but that doesn't help me. within the first week the check engine light came on. The problem a bad Cadillac converter and of coarse It is not covered under their warranty. You have to take it to Homer to their mechanic just for them to inform you that it's not covered. They say they have the cars checked out before selling . I made several calls since we just purchased the car and the end result is it will cost us over an additional 1,000 to have it repaired at our expense. read more

We dealt with Eric Hernandez (sales man) who has a brother who he sends you to (F&I) Obed Hernandez so they can both screw you over. The managers are well aware of this. I've cancelled the services they added and now the whole dealership everyone I call doesn't pick up the phone, no response to emails, or any form of communication. If I could give zero stars, I would believe me. I found a 2021 range rover for a very good price on their website. I made contact with the sales rep and the whole time communication was horrible. Usually the sales rep would chase after you, but that wasn't the case. Being four hours away from the dealership, I wanted to get some final numbers and any information on the vehicle which they failed to do multiple times after asking. But that was the least of my worries. I by passed the less interested sales rep and talked to the manager who said that the vehicle was there and he didn't want to take a deposit, but he would hold it for me. Again, being four hours away I wanted to make sure that the vehicle was ready cleaned and prepped for me to pickup and leave so I would make it home in a reasonable time. So I made my 4 Hour road trip only to get to the dealership and be highly disappointed. Upon entering the dealership, my sales person was nowhere to be found so one of the lot workers took me out to the vehicle. As soon as I saw the vehicle, I told him he must be mistaken this isn't the one in the picture. Let me start off by saying the vehicle that was in the pictures on their website was not even close to being the same one in person. The rims we're not the same ones/style as seen online and the amount of damage on the car all was beyond an easy repair. Let me remind you they never disclosed any of this to me on the multiple phone calls I made to the dealership. The front of the car looks like it had been sideswiped deeply . There was a deep dent on the roof / door frame, all the doors had dents and dings in the middle and ontop of that the vehicle was absolutely filthy sitting in the lot looked like for weeks untouched not even prepped for pick up like I asked. Like I said they were expecting me to come they had more than enough time to at least prepare the vehicle as they said they would. I walked back into the dealership frustrated to be greeted by my sales person. He seemed confused that the vehicle wasn't the same so I took her back off the lot to look at it. She went back inside and got the manager, and from then on a dealt with him. He told me they must've changed out the rims, and he never noticed the damage on the vehicle, but it was their fault for not verifying. I will say he was very understanding and how frustrated I was but after showing me numerous vehicles that were out of my price range after telling him what I wanted to spend I Ieft beyond disappointed . Overall I wasted 10 hours of driving, fuel costs and tolls all because they didn't want to walk out to the lot and check to make sure the vehicle was what I asked for. As others have said- if I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. As with many things, the process was smooth until after the purchase was completed. There were things that the dealer was to address with the vehicle, and I was told to bring it in so they could do so. It took them MONTHS to complete these issues. I worked with Erick, who was nice at first and then became completely uncommunicative once it was time to remedy the issues. I then began working directly with the owner, Lee. He is a prototypical used car salesman. When they had my car to address the issues, someone parked on a curb and damaged my rims, and I had to go through the headache of having them repaired and chasing them around to be reimbursed, and I also learned that they had sold me a damaged vehicle. My bumper had to be removed to address a sensor issue, and once it was to be put back on, the brackets were damaged and it didn't go on correctly- now I need to replace my bumper. The Land Rover dealership (not square one) told me that the car had been previously damaged. I'm convinced that Lee and company knew this which is why they gave me the run around on addressing this particular issue. Even the Land Rover dealership that completed my repairs told me that they hate working with Lee because there's too many issues. He is a slime ball, literally. After months of going back and forth about the sensor repair (which they would conveniently "forget" about every time I took it to them, so I had to KEEP taking it back), he told me to pay for it and they would reimburse me. I did so, and once I told him the amount (after him dodging me for a couple of months), Lee had the nerve to tell me they are a dealership, so they would reimburse me the repair amount, but not the tax, because they don't pay tax. It was laughable. He - and his dealership are a joke. A terrible joke. I wouldn't even send my worst enemy here. DO NOT GO HERE- no matter how great the car looks in those pics on the internet. I purchased a 2020 BMW X6M at this dealership.. due to the mileage and year the car would fall under a 60 day warrenty to get any issues the car has completed, within the time frame. the Vehicle was transported to me from NJ to Schenectady NY. upon arrival i notice there was a shiny metal object poking out of the driver side rear tire. upon futher inspection i noticed the rear driver tire was in fact Punchered by a nice sized bolt. pictures tooken before car came off flatbed. on the passanger side i noticed the rear tired was plugged. none of this was stated to me at time of purchase. I immediately call the dealership advised them of the situation they told me someone would get back to me.. at this time no one has gotten back to me. I called numerous times to be told the person who would contact me is off today. this is the same excuse i keep getting and no follow up on this matter from the dealers side has ever occurred. I then proceeded to reach out via email and via phone. I'll either get no response, no reply, the person whom is supposed to reach out is either in a meeting or off, and lastly the notorious phone disconnection. I then took a step further and do to current experience with this dealership my anxiety drove me to get the car full inspected by my local BMW dealership. upon inspection BMW found major issue with the front sensor which controls the sensoring of the vehicle even cruise control. they also found that both rear tires should be replaced. I provide the findings that my local BMW dealership gave me and provided an copy to sq1auto dealership and now I'm getting the same results, if not even worse. This was a very expensive purchase as the car was listed online for $77900 and when i bought the car i did not realize at the time the price spiked up to $82900. dealership will not fix the issues the vehicle currently has as I feel they are trying to escape the probational period on thier 60 day warrenty/ lemon law. since i received no reply i immediately filed a complaint with BBB. a couple of days goes by and no word from anyone, to my surprise I receive a call from dealership advising the car will be picked up and transported back to dealership to repair all issues my local BMW dealership had provided me during there prevehicle inspection. I was told by the saleperson that all issues will be resolved and vehicle will be returned back to my like new. 3 weeks goes by and no word from dealership. during the 3 weeks here is what i encountered: 1. i was being told the car was being serviced at BMW.. called ever BMW dealership in the area provided Vin number and told car is not at BMW. 2. after 3 painful weeks of no anwser my car arrives to me with the same issues my local BMW dealer found. the only part they took care of was a sensor bracket that took them 3 weeks to do nothing else was fixed. still paying out of pocket on issues needing to be rectify due to car not passing state inspection due to damaged rear tires, etc. 3. on transport back to dealership, I received a NJ toll volation, dealership advised this was going to be taken care of. today is Aug.16th 2023 and still no check was sent to pay for such volation. 4. moral of story this dealership will not fix any issues if it cost them money to fix they would rather screw you as supposed to them just to make their little old owner happy with robbing people. individuals who practice such tactics is the reason why this world is a very bad place and truthfully do not deserve to be in business in today's time as today's business world should have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for individuals who practice such. where is the accountability when it's really called upon.. please inform all to keep away from this dealership as the only correct thing you'll get from them is lies. to the 5k BS fee you charged saying it's an standard fee, do me a favor and keep the change you filthy animals as i can clearly see your owners need the cash more then reimbursing the customer.. probably running out of people to scam. stay safe people,run as fast as you can from this place. read more

Fraudulent activity alert! I signed a contract stating I'm the co-signer, to find out years later that the bank received a contract stating I was the one financed while my daughter is the co-signer. They won't even own up to their mess. Erica was a sweetheart, but I spoke to the very rude man in their office, who took my call on speaker while he spoke loudly and aggressively (but he claims he didn't have an attitude). I don't remember his name cause I was trying not to lose my Christianity for his ignorance. I explained the bank requested a corrected contract... ie the one I co-signed. Mr Loud said this is how it works and proceeded to explain that I am the co-signer and CapitalOne is lying to me, cause that just how the contract is - with both names. I get that, but there are designated spots for the borrower and co-borrower. They also told me that a bank doesn't allow a customer to refinance.. the dealership has to do it (BS). Now I'm supposed to trust them to submit a new application for my daughter. fool me once, shame on you... This dealership knew I wasn't taking a car off that lot in my name. I inquired about a car one month ago, and asked why the price was so low. When I kept asking questions, I was eventually told that it was sold, but they have other cars they can show me. I then looked at reviews of this "establishment," if that's even what you want to call it, and found negative after negative review. Clearly these people can't be trusted, so I just ignored it. Then today, a month later, I see the same exact car listed that I saw a month ago, that they told me "sold." there is no way they have, or ever had, it in stock. That same car would be in the same lot sitting there also its a joke. Then a MR.CARLOS or any salesmen will show you other cars in the lot and get you to spend more money than your set budget. Classic move for used car dealership. When signing the paperwork they WILL CHANGE THE NUMBERS on the BILL OF SALE paper breaking down all the numbers. They will add 2-3K more on the price you saw online say "its the dealer fees and taxes" as the final price of the vehicle. After that add more "taxes and fees" making your finally number huge. We went to the loan office RARITAN BAY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION in Sayreville NJ where we financed according to them just to find they have this dealer in their records but no paperwork from them or anything. Their "insurance guy" from GEICO name MIKE makes false information to get a cheap price for you when you're sitting signing papers. Later on your car insurance will go up in price. We return to confront them on their lies and they acted extremely stupid and making up lies. The sales manger got anger GRAB ALL OUR PAPER WORK and said I'm calling the cops. We laugh and left the dealer. We took pictures of all the paper work they have saved away that were missing when printing our copy's on the day of signing. We went to the POLICE STATION IN RAHWAY to file a complaint. They have SO MANY COMPLAINTS from this dealership. They're known in Rahway NJ for ripping people off. The office said they're known for rolling back odometer miles and selling salvage tiles. BOTTOM LINE: they will change the prices on the car and sell you a bad car that will break down and take your money. Don't even think about trying to purchase a vehicle you see on an online listing, the vehicle will either be (in process of being bought) or (already sold) by the time you go in the check the vehicle out. They will try to sell you an older and higher mileage vehicle for almost the exact same price. Asking price was $16,190 for a 2017 Honda Civic Coupe with 10,000 miles, when I told them I had cash and was going to purchase it outright from them (no haggling), they tried to sell me a 2016 Honda Civic Coupe with 33,000 miles for $15,190 by saying the 2017 was sold this exact morning. I emailed them under a different name and email two days later - to my amazement the 2017 Honda Civic Coupe with 10,000 miles is still 'available' and they asked 'when would I be able to go into the dealership'. Dealing with Square One has been a NIGHTMARE! We turned in a lease in March, and Nissan has still not been paid. It's now JULY! Over the past 4 months, we have spoken with the Salesperson and two General Managers on numerous occasions... no one has been able to rationally explain what occurred, verify that payment was made or track down the alleged payment. Finance Department voicemail is full (I can guess why...), so no one there responds. Because of this multi-level ineptitude, the car is listed as a repossession! To top it off, the car has already been "sold" to someone who can't even register it. After my review on cars.com today, I received numerous calls (from sales, management, accounts payable) to provide explanations for this debacle and promise to resolve it. Miraculous! I have no idea how this dealership has good reviews on Google, but save yourself the trouble and RUN. This isn't just me complaining because they were "rude" or something - I'm writing this review because they are scammers. We looked at an INFINITI priced around $6k under any other one within 100 miles of us for similar miles. I worked with Richard and Gabby, who were very kind. That's the only positive part of this review. We make the 2.5 hour drive to the dealership one night. We test drive the car, which had a "flat tire" alert (although the tire wasn't flat, based on other reviews, they probably messed with the dash but that's just speculation not fact), and large, very noticeable dents and scratches on the vehicle. Which, by the way, were not in the original listing photos. But we figured oh well, saving $6k, it's just cosmetic, it's fine. We had previously gotten quotes from other dealerships, where again, the price was $6k more expensive. We expected our monthly number to be lower here, so imagine our surprise when we received the quote (only monthly) being over $100 more than we were quoted anywhere else. I asked what my total purchase price was, and they very hesitantly brought me the cost breakdown, and brought someone else over to discuss... red flag again. The breakdown included $4,000 for a service contract, $2,000 for gap insurance, as well as other fees. I asked about the $4k and $2k fee, and they said it was "required" by the bank because they wouldn't approve me otherwise. Lol. Ok. BS. Car dealerships aren't insurance companies. Not to mention that warranty was clearly fake because after talking for another 20+ minutes, they agreed to bump it down to $2k. I'm leaving out countless details, but it was the biggest joke I've ever experienced. It was quite literally comical, as I'm not sure how dumb they thought I was, but I'm not. I've bought cars before. In fact, today, the very next day, I was approved for a more expensive vehicle at the very first bank they tried with a much lower interest rate. Yet this place had to pull my credit FIVE times and said I was "declined" everywhere... I know my credit, I know my ratios, and I know that's false. We got the heck out of there and you should too. I've never had a dealership try to scam me. They are frauds and scammers, not sales people. Looking back, I'm now realizing that the fake service contract + the gap "insurance" adds up to the $6k difference between this car and all the others. It was sneaky and I won't give them a dime. I asked if there were any problems with the car to see why it was cheap and the salesman mentioned it had a small cosmetic issue, that's all. So I set up an appointment to see the car the same day. Right after I come in I have been told "it was just sold to the lady over there". They were lying. They did not have the car in their parking lot while the lady was "signing" the papers. I asked if they had any cars with similar mileage, year, and price. The salesman had the audacity to show me a 4 year older car with triple the mileage for a similar price and then said it was only available in a different dealership. There are consumer protection rules in place to protect customers from false advertising. I am surprise they are able to freely get away with this. I sad a car I wanted online I did the application I was given a price for a pre approval but when I drove 5 hours to the dealer ship the actual approval came out to be a higher monthly payment then I wanted. long story short I walked out of there with the car of my dreams and a monthly payment that I'll willing to pay for it. everyone was very professional the dealership is very nice and clean. Nina the finance manager and the manager of the dealership really worked with m me and took they time and I walked out happy!! I inquired about a vehicle listed in several places (including one "buying service" that ostensibly gives eligible members a "best price") at $13,900. Yup, still on the lot. Great! Asked about standard fees involved in the purchase, to register in NJ; doc fee, tax, titling, license, etc. He (who shall politely remain nameless) told me "out-the-door it'll cost you around $18,000." Wait, whut? Doc fee $695 is repulsive enough (though not unheard-of). The "dealer fee" of $1800, on the other hand, IS a quite the conversation-stopper. When I said "huh?", the response was "I should be selling this car for $18 grand." Not to me, you won't (didn't say it). I told him thanks for sharing. List it accordingly, d-nozzles (didn't say it). DO NOT EVER BUY A CAR HERE !!! They are scam artist on so many levels, to the point that they may have even sold me a stolen car. I bought an audi Q5 for my wife. They 1st had me sign a paper agreeing to a price of 17,900. When I then go to the finance department to sign for the actual loan, unknowingly to me, they switched the price on the paper work to 24,900. Unfortunately I signed the paper work without realizing that, not to mention all the other BS fees they put into the deal to run the price of the car up to close to 28k. Wait there's more. I then took the car to get inspected only to find the car had been in a major accident which they did not disclose to me ,but here's really the kicker. The inspector found that the VIN had also been altered which may indicate that the car was stolen. I called to confirm the exact car was still available and able to be test driven, they said yes and that we could test drive it first thing the next morning. We arrived at opening and suddenly the car had been sold sometime between closing and opening (?) the following day - I would avoid this place. read more

I went in to Square One Auto to see about a car I found via Auto Navigator. Martin, the sales person, looked into it and found that a deposit had already been put down for it that same day by someone else. He apologized and showed me other options, which I declined. The following morning he called me to follow up, and when I informed him I already found another car later that night, he unceremoniously hung up. At no point either when I was at the dealership nor on the call was I discourteous, and I don't understand why he was so willing to so easily burn a bridge. I have a 17 year old son who will be in the market for a car later this year, and we won't be darkening Square One's door on our hunt. read more
