We bought a Groupon for a 1-hr boat rental and ended up taking a boat for two hours. Regular…read morerates were $65/hr for two hours or $75 for a single hour, and weekend minimums are 2 hours, so the groupon doesn't save as much as one would think. Staff appear annoyed at the fact that we were using a groupon. $20 for insurance with $500 deductible. I booked two days before and got a morning 2-hr slot. When we arrived, there was nobody at the office itself so we had to scour the dock to find the staff to help us. There arn't any washrooms in the office either and the nearest one is a block away. We ended up getting a 60hp boat and noticed the prop was stripped of paint and slightly bent, but they said that they know about it being caused by the previous group and already charged them for it. So they keep on using a damaged prop and charged the other group anyways? Nice.... We got an escort out of the bay and immediately ran into an area filled with para-sailors blocking the entire area and had to stay slow and waste time waiting for the area to clear before proceeding. In our 2 hour tour, we managed to head just South of Anvil Island, where there are Seals swimming in the water and sunbathing on the rocks. There were a number of logs floating in the ocean so extra caution is advised. On our way back, we again had to wade through the mess of para-sailors and wait for some time for outbound traffic to clear before proceeding into the narrow channel. All in all, the experience was mediocre. If they don't like groupons, they should keep that fact to themselves, and perhaps take the the 5 minutes to change out a frigging prop if its been damaged before the rental. The traffic was high in the narrow channel, and navigation is poorly marked. There's a post with a white band they said to follow on the way in, but there's more than one post with white markings on it so keep an eye out for the one that's not rusted. Edit: Went back a second time to take a friend out to Squamish area. Once again, we got a boat with some paint stripped off the prop. Unfortunately, for some reason, 'more paint' came off the prop and they charged us $270 for a new prop, but apparently we could buy the prop from them for an extra $60 if we wanted. $270 is outrageously excessive for simply paint getting stripped off. Definitely take pictures of your boat before and after the boat ride if you're going with these guys. Definitely not coming back. In comparison, Sewell's in Horseshoe bay is much more convenient overall with better rates and accommodations. Also in comparison, asking about the staff regarding tri-blade prop damage, stripped paint is normal wear and tear, and they only charge $60 per blade if it's bent and $180 if the prop has to be replaced. Love the Squamish area!

Squamish Harbour Boat Rentals had a Living Social deal for $35 (HST extra) for a 1-hour boat…read morerental. I'm not sure what the regular rates are because their website links are broken, but I imagine they are much more expensive. I booked one week before and they said there was only a 9AM slot available. I checked with my group and called them back to confirm. You'll need a credit card to confirm your booking. They told us to be there 20 minutes early, so at 8:40. We arrived at 8:40 sharp and it was closed. We called their number and no answer. Just after 9, two workers showed up and asked if we had a reservation. They told us someone had told them the first reservation was at 10. I told them it was at 9. They didn't apologize and just started getting the boats ready. We didn't mind because we weren't on a tight schedule, but they should have either called to confirm or apologize for it. They just assumed we wouldn't mind being bumped later. Also, if they were so booked and wanted us in at 9, why did they show up late? I'm not sure I like their business practices. That being said, Dave was really friendly and we had a lot of fun. It's nice to be able to drive a boat without a boating license. We decided to decline the $20 damage waiver insurance ($500 deductible if something happens) because we were only going to be out there for an hour and the water was quite still. If you are going to be out for longer, I would recommend it. If you have a bunch of people on your boat, it's only $5 extra and it's worth it. If you've never driven a boat before, get it! The Living Social deal made it affordable for us and I would probably come back. I hope they get a bit more organized though. Oh, and I guess they get a free star because the weather was absolutely perfect the day we went.

Live music by Tony and Mike added to the evening. Music choice was right for the demographic and comments by Tony were at a minimum--appropriate for folks sharing and chatting with friends. Food was acceptable. Not stellar but it's a buffet catered in. Highlights: salad selection, vegetable lasagna, desserts. Some may criticize, I wouldn't. Cruise was lovely, starting before sunset (7:00 pm, mid Sept) and lasting well after sunset until disembarkation at 9:30. City lights are beautiful. One suggestion (I hope management is following these): turn off the LED rope lights in the cabin after dark so there's no or less reflection on the windows. That reflection makes it impossible to see through the window and enjoy the city lights. Yes, you can go outside, but if chilly that's not ideal for all passengers. That is the biggest negative. Overall a positive experience. Now turn off those lights so we can fully enjoy an evening cruise in Vancouver.

Unreliable. Sail at your own risk!…read more Harbour Cruises of Vancouver completely failed to deliver on the promise of their Indian Arm cruise. They claimed smoke in the engine room and limped back to port before we even turned into the Arm. Other reviews have reported unexplained itinerary changes that eliminated the main part of the trip. One has to wonder if they don't go up the Arm simply to save money when it's not fully booked or if their boats are that unreliable. While I understand mechanical issues, their compensation policy was completely inadequate. They offered a free drink on board and a coupon for 15% off a future cruise. Anyone booking on the internet can get a 20% discount off any cruise! After much back and forth they finally offered a 20% refund. The final price after this discount was approximately double the price of a narrated harbor tour. We received an un-narrated tour of the container port instead of a tour of the natural environment, which is what we were promised. We feel cheated by Harbour Cruises of Vancouver. Sail at your own risk!

Very bad business practice…read more We booked a 3pm tour. It was the last day that we are in Vancouver, we would be flying home that night. At 1:45pm, after we have planned our whole day around the excursion and checked out of the hotel in preparation of this tour, Sea Vancouver office called and said they are cancelling my tour because they "need a minimum of 4 people and only 3 people booked". I explained that we are leaving the city that day, and we planned our whole day around this, and if there is anything they can do. It is unreasonable to only notify me 75 minutes prior to departure time - we were already on the way to the departure point! The only thing they said was that they will refund me in full (I'd better hope so since you cancelled it with incredibly short notice!) I understand that it may not be economical to operate a tour based on fixed cost, but this was NOT written anywhere when I booked it on the official website, but they were happy to take my money when I booked. The confirmation email stated "We reserve the right to delay or cancel a departure for events beyond our control (e.g. adverse weather conditions, technical or mechanical issues, etc.)" -- well, operating a boat when there are "only" 3 paying customers is definitely in their control, they just choose to screw over their customers. This has put a really sour taste on my trip to Vancouver. I would encourage everybody to stay away.

This was our first time in Vancouver, and whats not a better way to experience it than by taking a boat tour! We honestly planned this boat tour super last minute, so we called a few places, but they were all closed. Fortunately, Sea Vancouver still had tours going out until 7pm which was the last one! The lobby is located in the Westin hotel and the ride is 90 minutes long, which takes you all around the harbor of Vancouver to the English Bay! There was so much to see at the waterfront and we even saw a few dolphins along the ride! We were hoping for orcas too but maybe next time haha. Overall the boat tour was absolutely amazing! Terry our captain, made the experience super educational a fun! Love that guy! Thanks Cap! And thank you Sea Vancouver!

Thank you RideHub for one of the best trail days in my 10 years of riding!!…read more I flew to BC to visit family with no expectations of having a chance to ride. However, the dirt gods smiled and I managed to sneak away to Squamish for an afternoon. RideHub was able to work me into their schedule on short notice. Knowing that I did not have any gear, they provided everything I needed: bike, helmet, pads, water. They even had some trail snacks to share with me! Sara took me on half-day tour of the lushest forests I've ever ridden. She did an phenomenal job of picking trails that both matched my ability level and provided a tasty sampling of classic Squamish features. From steep berms to skinnies to iconic slabs, it was a mountain biking dream come true. We ran into a kids from the RideHub summer camps and the lot of us hooted and hollered down the mountain together. I've done a few mountain bike destination trips to other places and rental bikes are a mixed bag. A big shout out to RideHub mechanic Freddy! My Norco Sight Carbon performed flawlessly. He helped me dial in the suspension and the bike did not give me a single problem. Drivetrain shifted well, brakes modulated and were silent, suspension squished when I needed it to squish, dropper was smooth. Really top notch mechanic and a wonderfully maintained machine. Finally, major props to SORCA, the local trail advocacy group. So many trails and they were all in such prime condition. I would not hesitate to recommend RideHub to people of all ability levels. Sara is great at picking the right route for your ability level, she is a great coach, and she an awesome ride partner. Great memories. Yew!!!

You could warm yourself up at the visitor centre just right of the gondolas where you can get some hot food and look out through its huge glass windows out into the wilderness. You could also walk outside said visitor centre and onto the suspension bridge. It looks daunting at first, but it isn't too long and you get some wonderful photos from it.
