Five minutes later, another staff member took me into the exam room, and realized that she'd left my file in her office. These two interactions left me feeling a little disconcerted. Once the doctor was in the room, everything went smoothly. I'm hoping the cortisone shot will take care of my trigger thumb!

We met with Dr. Douglas on 1/26, who talked us through the procedure, and made us very comfortable that he was the right man for the job. He was confident, but not arrogant, and had a sense of humor that put us at ease. We were given a binder containing lots of information!! What to expect before, during and after surgery. They had us come in on 2/1 for pre-op meetings. We were given the opportunity to ask questions. We watched a video about recovery. We met with cardio rehab and occupational therapy. They did labs and a chest x-ray. We were escorted by someone who had been through bypass surgery. What a great resource. The surgery was performed on Feb 5, and it could not have gone any better. Dr Douglas, and/or his PA's visited every day to make sure everything was going well. They even gave us a heart pillow on which Dr Douglas drew the bypasses that he had created. My husband was released from the hospital on Feb 9th and is recovering at home. Dr Douglas' nurse called to follow up and make sure he was progressing and to ask if we had any questions. I cannot say enough about Dr Douglas and his staff. He is the absolute BEST!!

Dr. Bryson called me immediately and said "I will get you taken care of immediately." Dr. Bryson gave me the directions to his clinic and met me there as I arrived at about 8:00 pm and opened his clinic. I had not been a patient of Dr. Bryson prior to this spontaneous after hours appointment. I was overwhelmed with gratitude for this Urologist's willingness to help a person he had never met and did so after hours. After asking me a couple of questions, he diagnosed me very quickly. He knew immediately where it hurts and what movement induces pain and what doesn't. I found it very easy to ask him questions. His responses are always to the point. After 40 years of practice in family medicine, Dr. Gavereski is retiring soon (his retirement celebration is set for mid July). I'm glad that I was able to thank him today for his service.

Dr. Subedar, explained the process, and the end result was as good as could be. However, during the procedure, my cheek was abraded and 8 days later it is still swollen and sore. My dentist sent a complete x-ray on a thumb drive & I was told they could not read it & I had to have another. For which I was charged $124.00. What computer these days can't open a file. Lindsey who is in charge of finances was anything but clear. Since I do not have dental insurance I asked to negotiate the cost. Since I know that insurance companies pay just pennies on the dollar. I was able to negotiate a 10% discount, and it is their policy to give a 5% discount for cash. Agt the end of our negotiation I understood that I was to get a 10% discount and according to their policy I would get an additional 5% for paying cash. I paid cash. First, they could not give me change, so I had to wait until the follow-up visit and when I asked about the cash discount I was told that it was part of the 10%. The quote I received showed a 10% discount, and that was not broken down stating that it really was only a 5% discount. I feel that this way of dealing with patients who attempt to negotiate a better deal borders on Fraud.

...pain is a powerful motivator...while waiting for my hip replacement operation I needed something…read moreto help reduce the constant pain and loss of mobility... ...I could hardly get up off the couch...someone showed me an ad in the paper for a seminar about 'stem cells'...I did lots of research , and spent hours on YouTube listening and Google Scholar before I attended one of their seminars...long story short, I booked an appointment in November...went to the clinic and it was as professional and caring as it comes...the Receptionist , the Nurses and the Doctor were wonderful ...everything was exceptionally well organized ...my wife came with me to drive back in case I had some side effects ( none )...all in all it was 80 minutes start to finish...the injections into the hip and IV were virtually painless...got off the table and could tie my shoelaces for the first time in years...the results up to June have been spectacular ...I've done major hikes , golfed, and light leg workouts...so I booked another beginning of June ( optional )... but before the new injections the nurse took scans of my hip...totally blown away...where there was originally bone on bone there was now cartilage regrowth ( as calculated by the computer picture and can actually be seen )... based on my hip improvement , the Nurse Specialist this time was able to inject stem cells, growth factors and hyaluronic acid into the joint ( no extra charge )...I'm certain I'll benefit even more from my new injections...before the closest I could get to get my knees together was 9 inches , now ,without pain , about an inch...that tells me not only do I have new cartilage growth all around hip socket, but a reduction in arthritis... ...I'm hoping , my surgeon decides not to operate...based on his evaluation...but I'm in no pain whatsoever...interesting to note, stem cells are outlawed in Canada...and for me , Bellingham is a short drive...but everyone in the waiting room was from all over BC and Alberta... ...a final word on this...everyone wants their health to be the best it can be...and having confidence in your healthcare team and the service they provide is of the utmost priority...that said, all the 'team' members at Vitality are exceptional...if you decide Stem Cells will be of benefit , choosing Vitality will be one of your best decisions on your road to recovery.

Everything afterward, from the surgery prep to the aftercare was provided clearly and courteously. When I went in for surgery, I was nervous and a little scared. That said, I can't begin to tell you how helpful it was to have staff people who were kind and fun. It just made my heart happy. I am really thankful for having such wonderful caregivers who made the whole experience so pleasant.

They explained everything they were doing and my care plan for home. The nurse also followed up by phone to check on my progress and recovery. My surgeon and anesthesiologist were equally excellent. The center is located in Barkley. Parking lot is adjacent to main entrance.
