November 2020, we used Valley Termite & Pest Control, Staunton, for a termite treatment of the…read morehouse we were purchasing. The price for the service included, in writing, a one-year guaranty including a free inspection at our request (and treatment of the affected area, if needed) within the first year AT NO CHARGE. We even got a reminder letter in January to make that free inspection appointment before the year expired. When we called to make our appointment, we were told that they were under new management and would not honor our guaranty--and the visit would cost us $109.25 or their technician would not come out even for the inspection, not to mention any required treatment. We asked to talk with a manager, but even that was denied. We were only able to speak with the women who make the appointments and they were unclear what the policy was since they were new and the management had changed. However, they were the ones who delivered the final decision not to honor the guaranty after our third call to them. The fact that the new management wouldn't even call us back to discuss or explain, tells you what type of business ethics these people have. We have a clearly written guaranty, a reminder letter of that guaranty, and the new owners won't even talk to their customer. STAY AWAY FROM VALLEY TERMITE.

I selected Valley Termite and Pest Control to complete a termite treatment for a circa 1890's Historic Chapel approved for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. 10 months later, I'm confident I made the right choice. The crawlspace areas in this historic Chapel Property are very tight and difficult to access. Valley Termite and Pest Control took the extra time and effort to go into all these spaces to inspect and treat. The Base of the Bell Tower however was not accessible when the termite treatment was initially completed ten months ago. This week, when we replaced the flooring in the Bell Tower, Valley Termite and Pest Control made a special trip to Harrisonburg to treat the Bell Tower... at No Charge. Todd, Margaret, and all the Pest Control Techs who came out to service the Mabel Memorial Chapel were so very polite and professional. I was very positively impressed. I am very pleased with the work Valley Termite and Pest Control completed for us.

He explained that he was here to sell product and he knew that he was going to be tapping into my landlord's wallet and not mine. Typical sales tactics. I have attempted to make it so great at the company will call me back and I'm still dealing with bird mites crawling up my curtain crawling on my furniture causing me to have to evacuate the house and lose all my possessions because John failed to locate the bird nest that are on this building and causing this problem. I find it grossly negligent but I'll leave that up to you to decide. John did get a little Instant Karma as he came up out of the basement as he smacked his head on the top of the door. I had to laugh. Absolute joke of an inspection but he did manage to make a sale here and he got his 25% before he ever left the driveway but I feel like he should have been able to locate these bird mites with all of the investigation and information I had to share with him. Absolute joke of inspection. I will also be reaching out to legislators because mold treatment is not a regulated profession in Virginia and these people are just thieves. Consumer beware.

We didn't want to get near it. When they were unable to physically come out to deal with a presumed den near our house (we found THREE mature copperheads stretched out together in the early evening hours on a warm, muggy summer night) because they focus on extractions from dwellings, not trapping wildlife outside, they answered with a series of very specific instructions on how we could best deal with the problem ourselves. After he left, we discovered them and called the company to come treat our place. They treated our place and the worker said he found "one" bed bug. There is no such thing as one single bed bug in a location. After treatment, we also discovered other little bugs and the same worker came back to spray for those. when he came into our home, he completely ignored my boyfriend (even as my boyfriend said hello how are you ) and acted as though he didn't want to be there. We felt mistreated and a little screwed over considering the worker couldn't even find the bugs in the first place. We called the company THREE different times to request a refund or discount for how we were being treated and they have yet to call us back, each time saying their boss was in a "meeting".
