When the…read morewinter storm of Jan 2022, took a tree out, obstructing our driveway, they came over very quickly and made our driveway passible and then returned and took down the badly damaged tree. We have known of them and their good community service for years. We also chose them because they are licensed and insured - and not everyone is. Later, I asked for an estimate about other trees that had been damaged by the storm and by neighbors trees that had fallen on some of our trees. They gave me an estimate that was clear and explained exactly what they would do. It took a bit of time for us to save up to have this work done. When we let them know we were ready, they were here the next day to begin prep work. With their very busy schedule I know we lucked out. From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, efficient beyond measure, and thorough. They were able to get all nine trees down in one day. They even came blew any Ieft over saw dust out of the driveway. During their work here, they checked in by phone (to let me know they'd be back to tidy, to ask about relocating vehicles, etc.) All the men were very polite and courteous. They clearly knew exactly what they were doing. As if that wasn't enough, the wood we had taken down will become part of their charity, Start A Spark, which provides free wood to families in need who heat with wood burning stoves. We will definitely use them again for any and all tree needs. I can't recommend them highly enough!

We were not even able to get past first base with this company. I contacted them in late October…read morefor an estimate. On Oct 31, I informed them to schedule us for the tree removal. While they were reasonable in the timeframe for the estimate (within a week), we waited for 2 weeks before reconnecting with them them about getting scheduled since we had heard nothing. At that time, they told us that they were scheduling us for Nov 25th. That time has come and gone - I just reached out to them today (Dec 2nd) - a week later - and they informed me that tomorrow (Dec 3rd) was the makeup day in case the 25th didn't work out. Problem is, WE weren't kept in the loop on any of their scheduling/changes. They responded when I texted, but the response consisted of more apologies, just like the first time when they neglected to keep us informed. We were looking for a partnership to help us manage our tree population. Now we have to go through the research process all over again to find someone reliable, which apparently, Metcalf is not.

The guys at Topless did a great job. Trees are trimmed as needed, they took extra precautions to not damage to anything, and did an outstanding cleanup job. Yew and Holly plants, awful looking and overgrown even though I have trimmed them the 2 years I have lived here. David and his crew of 2 came today and they extracted the 3 ugliest big shrubs you have ever seen. They did a great job of trimming the broadleaf plants on each side of my heat pump. They cleaned up and made the area look great for an empty space. David was really flexible in the job since I changed up the day they were doing the job. I had a couple of other estimates with pictures of the 5 shrubs I wanted trimmed way back. I attached the before and after pictures of the job David and those two hard working guys he had with him. I will plant something nice in the fall. Excellent.
