Service Street Tire & Auto Repair

Pros: *quick service…read more Cons: *poor customer service *didn't believe me/listen to me *didn't thoroughly check car after repair My husband and I were changing out my rear brakes during the weekend and ran into a problem: one of the brake caliper pistons over-extended and brake fluid began leaking out. I looked for places that might be able to help with repairs and found Service Street. They said they could look at my car on Monday, so we towed it over and left it. When the repairs were done on Monday evening, we stopped by to pick up my vehicle. As soon as I started driving, I realized my air conditioner and fan weren't working and that my turn signal was blinking more quickly and louder than normal. I went right back to Service Street to talk with them. When I explained what I'd noticed in my car in the ~5 minutes since I left their station, they said, "Well, we worked on your brakes and caliper, so that has nothing to do with the AC or turn signal." I agreed, but I also told them that these things weren't issues when I brought my vehicle in. They had hooked a diagnostic computer up to my car, so they were obviously connected to the electrical system, but they kept saying they hadn't done anything to cause these issues. They said I could leave my car another day and they'd give me an estimate for what those repairs would cost. I said, "I just spent nearly $1,000 on repairs and can't afford more issues that didn't exist before I brought the car to your shop." They wouldn't budge, though, and even though their shop was still open for another hour, they said we'd either need to bring the car back on Tuesday or at a later date. We reluctantly scheduled for the weekend with the understanding that they would just look at the car but not do anything that would cost us more money. My husband and I looked at my fuses there in Service Street's parking lot right outside their main office--no one came out to check or offer any type of assistance. We didn't see any burned-out fuses, so I came home and instantly began researching. With my first Google search, I found a site that recommended disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes to reset the system. We did that and then everything functioned normally. Service Street was still open at that point, so I called them and told them that we'd figured it out ourselves. I explained what we did so that hopefully they will consider this in the future. I told them how frustrated I was that they discounted what I'd said when their diagnostic computer had, in fact, caused the issue. The customer service rep didn't apologize but said he'd pass my message on to the mechanic.

I had recently bought a used vehicle from a car lot and they had claimed that their technician had…read moredone a full inspection of the vehicle (oil change, brakes, all fluids topped off) Test drive the vehicle and all seemed great so I purchased the vehicle.... Not even two weeks later while driving my dash displayed 0 oil pressure and alerts going off... took the truck to AAMCO and had them look at it. From the moment I walked in I was treated like family. Sat down and talked with Casey and explained that I had just bought the vehicle and so on and so forth. He took the vehicle to the back and had the technician start looking at everything About twenty minutes later the technician Anthony came in and told me what was wrong, thankfully it was not as bad as I thought. Just a simple oil change and he made some other recommendations to help the vehicle run better.... these guys went above and beyond for me and I will be a forever customer of AAMCO Brighton. Keep up the great work. You guys rock!!!!!

This location is the best hidden secret for a good, wholesome shop! I called Chance and he did…read morenothing but go out of his way to go above and beyond for me. He is genuine, honest, professional and realistic when it comes to cars. I had my transmission and battery replaced and after calling 8 other locations and he was by far the best priced, most available all while willing to problem solve to get me the best deal possible. I would HIGHLY recommend this location, and I won't go anywhere else for any car issues I have! **UPDATE... not really an "update" just wanted to give ANOTHER example as of why I won't take my car to any other shop. After Chance replaced my transmission, I took my car into Christian Brothers for an oil change, where they gave me an outrageous quote from... for ADDITIONAL work (that I didn't ask for, and I previously paid a diagnostic fee). I called Chance and again, was provided with unbeatable customer service. He checked all of the work that was quoted and not only was it literally half the price, he actually discovered that most of the work didn't need to be done at all. In fact, he found other things they should have caught, and even with those repairs needed- his work was more than half of the cost. Looking at my receipt, he took care of me. I think I have actually cost Chance money taking my car to him and still the service is beyond amazing. Finding a genuine person who isn't trying to get rich and do a great service is hard to find- I will never take my car to anyone else!!
