The teachers and director completely betrayed the trust of my family. They made false claims…read morereported to CYFD after a home visit for beginning of this school year. They literally falsified information based on whatever prejudice they have against myself and father to my children. When CYFD followed up at the same home they reported - the investigator told us their report was 'frivolous and a waste of time' = UNSUBSTANTIATED. I contacted one of the teachers directly regarding their actions, and she told me the director would contact me- and she never did! I will never recommend this place to anyone. And during class time visits last year, one of the staff was being extremely rude and militant with some of my son's classmates, rather than exploring positive discipline approaches. I should have recognized that as a red flag, but had more faith in them than I really should have. These people lack integrity, are untrustworthy, and act completely fake - all smiles to your face when they obviously pass judgment behind your back. My kids are already enrolled in a new wonderful program, so we find this terrible incident to have been a blessing in disguise. Please, take your children elsewhere.

Additionally, the school creates fun learning centers and creative learning modules that really engage the pre-school child. Uncomfortable goin in every day. My son was enrolled for maybe 3 weeks the staff was very aggressively rude when it came to communication. My son was coming home everyday talking about how the teachers are mean everyday that I walked in, and they had something every day to say to me wen I walked in...and they had something DIFFERENTto tell me. My son has been in different centers since he was a baby. Albuquerque nursery. Noah's ark. And never in my life did I feel the need to move him unless it was our location. Everyday walking in was so stressful, wondering what are they going to tell me the next time I walk in. My recommendation is choose another preschool because I know I am. When I had first gone and they scheduled me a home visit, then without any notice the day of the home visit they told me that they weren't going to make it, then they had schedules me another day and once again very rudely the other teacher told me that she was in charge and that I had no home visit the day that I had asked if they were coming. An incident happened one day with my child. And no one knew what happened, yet at the parent-teacher conference they said that everything was fine and that it wasn't my son's fault. And upon the third time it was brought up to me the lady in the office Karen said that my son just went and started being mean to everyone out of nowhere.I had already talked to the staff three times I don't understand why they kept coming up to me telling me about my child about the same incident and none of the stories matched up. I went to go ask who I talk to in the parent-teacher conference. And they just sent me away telling me to talk to the lady in the office that I have was just talking to. I got fairly upset and I really don't feel the need to feel that way , my son loves School. Stress levels were skyrocket. I really wish I had a chosen another preschool to begin with.

She is always busy, and the staff are fully engaged with the kids. The current Site Director at Comanche ES, Josh R., is amazing and just seems to "get" kids. But maybe even more impressive was the reaction of the central office several years ago when I was disappointed with the past Site Director. They immediately engaged with her to provide direction and assistance. Did it make everything perfect? No, but it was improved and they really tried to help without making me feel bad. But the best review? My daughter wants to go every day during the summer instead of sleeping in and playing video games!

My daughters went to Our Montessori School and I credit their time there with setting a foundation…read morefor the great successes they achieved academically. My oldest daughter, Dasia went on to graduate with honors from Brooklyn Technical High School and Amherst College. She got her Masters from Wake Forest and will be pursuing her PHD. My daughter Alasia went to Midwood HS and graduated at 20 with her Bachelors in Bioengineering from Michigan State University. She just completed her Masters at NYU. They went when they were very young and even though they don't remember things like going to their first protest (w/ the students of UNM protesting the Invasion of Iraq in '03) or to Disneyland, they both remember Our Montessori and the wonderful teachers, especially Ms. Belinda and Mr. Chris. They remember the school down to details like the fishtank, the classrooms decorated with planets and red bicycles. When I told Alasia I spoke with Ms. Roxanne, she asked "Wow, does she remember us?" I told her yes and her face lit up. I would recommend this school to every parent. The staff is attentive, genuinely love teaching and are dedicated to the mission of Montessori. In NYC, I would have never been able to afford to send my daughters to a school like this. Ms. Roxanne's explanation of why she chose to structure Our Montessori as it is in order to make it accessible to all children regardless of socioeconomic background was heartwarming and inspirational. I went on to work in special education in NYC and I hope to design a Montessori program exactly like Our Montessori in honor of the great work they've done. I wholeheartedly recommend this school and look forward to reading all of the alumni stories of achievement to come!

TO NOTE: THIS DAYCARE EXCHANGES WAIVED FEES FOR POSITIVE REVIEWS…read moreThis daycare - run by Owner and Executive Director Crystal Tapia and her family members who are in all the administrative staff roles, is an overall disappointment, untrustworthy, unsafe and very clearly more interested in the money they are able to bring in instead of the families they are working with or children they are "caring for." The two main problems we experienced with this daycare - 1. there is a lot of dishonesty and shady behavior regarding money - it is clearly their sole concern and 2. children safety and supervision is severely lacking. First, the money. There were several instances in which we were given incorrect tuition and fee information, repeatedly, by administrative staff only to find out the fees were much more upon required payment. We were among many families who received this tuition information - which is a huge deciding factor when choosing a daycare - only to find out when payment was requested that the tuition was actually higher. No apologies were issued, no courtesy credits or compromises given to make things right for the families who had budgeted for the prior amount. We escalated this to Crystal, hoping she would offer some sort of a solution, explanation or further our understanding of the miscommunication and how it can be avoided moving forward. She offered no explanation or apology. She sat in our meeting with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face. She told us that if she were to honor the price we were given by her staff (on multiple, separate occasions over the course of several months) then SHE WOULD HAVE TO FIRE SOME OF HER TEACHERS at the center because she wouldn't be able to afford the $100-$200 dip in revenue per month. Her offered solution was if we didn't like the new secret price we could find a new daycare. This cold and dismissive response - along with the insulting, blatant lie about having to fire teachers to rectify the situation, from the Owner/Executive Director of the daycare (not to mention COUNCIL MEMBER OF THE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE DEPARTMENT AND TREASURER OF THE NEW MEXICO CHILD CARE AND EDUCATION ASSOCIATION) was absolutely appalling. The dishonesty and lack of concern should have been insight enough as to the type of establishment this was -despite the beautiful quote about God leading the daycare in the entryway. But we found a way to pay the higher tuition since our child had already been established and we didn't want to uproot. Throughout our time there, we were consistently harassed to purchase expensive Gala tickets to support one of Crystal's causes, as well as 5k tickets and other fundraisers that I have a very low level of trust and confidence as to where the money was actually going, given our experience. Now, to the child safety and lack of supervision. Our young child was bullied often in the classroom as well as on the playground. In the classroom, there was one child in particular who hit, bit, shoved, screamed, etc, at our child among others. Of course, I am a parent and fully understand that these things happen with small children. The issue was brought to the attention of the teacher multiple times, as our child was consistently coming home with marks. We were told they would try to keep this child away from our child, but there wasn't much they could do. We were also told that the bully had autism and his behavior was CAUSED by our child, because our child was too loud and the bully was sensitive to noise. Our child also ran into some bullying on the playground, as the small children were let out on the playground at the same time as the older kids and after-school program kids. Again, nothing they could do. Crystal often had media on the daycare campus to interview her or promote one of her causes/fundraisers - often on the playground. I wonder if less effort went in to her self-promotion, and more effort went into the supervision of our children, if there would have been less incidents. I am grateful, however, for our experience with Crystal and her family/staff, as we have learned in great detail what we would like to avoid at all costs in future daycares and schools.
