She was friendly but had me…read morewait 45 minutes past my appointment time, left my cut to start another clients hair, and most importantly ignored practically everything I asked her to do. I told her I did not ever straighten or blow dry my hair and she did both. I asked to have it thinned very slightly and trimmed. I also asked her to put some layers in. She ended up straightening my hair so that it was flat, cutting less than an inch off, and thinning out HALF my hair volume. I left shaking and burst into tears as soon as I made it out the door. My curl pattern has been drastically affected months later. My hair will grow back eventually, but people with curly, thick hair, who wear it naturally will not have a great experience there.

Dealing with hair loss for any reason can be traumatic. I knew that I wanted a wig and I wanted…read morequality. I made a consultation appt with John Rutter salon and headed down to Cheat Lake, WVA. The first thing I noticed upon entering was the display of wigs on shelves sitting behind the desk. I don't normally see that in beauty parlors. Off to the side I saw they had hair extensions and a shelf for hair care products. Another thing I noticed that each hair station was in a private room as opposed to being "out on the floor" for more privacy. My appt was with Kristen and she took me to one of the rooms to discuss wigs. I didn't want human hair because of the cost factor and because they are a lot of maintenance. The only plus side is that they are long lasting. She suggested that a quality synthetic is the way to go. She noted that synthetic wigs are easy care and have an average 6 month span with proper care and usage. Still I could get more than 6 months depending on usage. We discussed wig care and I was told never to put your wig on a mannequin head. Instead they would provide me with a wig stand free with my purchase and style and wash my wig the first time. Their synthetic wigs cost more than what you would find online suppliers but they are well made and designed to resemble not only hair but the scalp as well. She brought in a couple of wigs and the first one I tried on was "love at first sight!" I had always wanted layered hair but with my thinning scalp could not do so. Now I can get the opportunity. The wig had layers and a lot of body that made me feel like a new person! Care is basically simple-use a vent brush with tips and a spray bottle of water. Two squirts and I'm done! It can't get easier than that. She matched my hair color, ordered my wig and told me it would be there in about a week's time. Once received then I would be called for a return visit for try on and adjustments. Wig orders require 50% down and balance due upon receipt. If you have medical reimbursement through your health insurance then they will give you an itemized receipt to submit to them. I also got to meet John the owner, and he went over some additional questions I had regarding scalp care and whether or not a wig cap or even a sleep cap was necessary. Everyone was friendly and very helpful to answer all my questions. John Rutter hair solutions is a full service hair salon that can meet any of your beauty parlor needs. Cards and checks are accepted as well as cash. I'm looking forward to getting my new wig and highly recommend this business!

Needless to say, I was pretty nervous leaving my regular barber behind in Va. I was a walk-in as well, so I was envisioning the worst, but my fears were soon washed away like so many salon shampoos. The management scheduled me with Camille, and I couldn't be happier. She listened to what I wanted and took into account my current lifestyle and worked some major magic on my cut and eyebrow wax. Everything was great, and I will certainly stop in the next time I'm in town.

i got my haircut a while ago here by Hanna Belle and the entire time the women cutting my hair was…read moretaking phone calls and texting. she was more concerned about how her friend could get a new ID so they could go get margs than any part of my appointment. washing my hair she blasted my ear with the water hose i'm assuming she was also on her phone here. she rescheduled appointments and talked to a "family member" who was supposedly supposed to fix her car, literally as she was actively cutting my hair. i'm 21 years old and i never planned on writing a review but i've thought a lot how disrespectful it was. i told my friends & family and everyone was so shocked at the behavior and treatment. the haircut was okay at best but wasn't even what i had asked for or showed pictures of. also did seem slightly crooked when i got home and got a picture of the back and the style was basically two curlers on my head and then basically a blow dry. for the cut, wash, style, and tip (yes i still tipped 20% for some reason) it was almost $100. the second she finished my hair she went to sit at the front desk on her phone while i was still sitting in the chair with my payment already on the screen. i don't want to condemn the entire establishment since that women seemed to be the only one there at the time and i would hope everyone isn't like that but it was probably the worst haircut experience ive had and i left not even loving my hair.

Lazy, rude, and a complete waste of $65. I booked an…read moreappointment that was supposed to last two hours for braids. When I mentioned the expected time, she immediately hit me with "Why would your braids take two hours?" Then she followed it up with "Your braids are super easy" -- like that was her excuse to rush and do the bare minimum. She had me in and out in no time with almost zero effort. The braids looked decent at first, but they started falling apart in less than two days. A female friend of mine looked at them and straight-up said, "I could have done better than that" -- and she doesn't even do hair. She acted like she didn't even want to be there. No attention to detail, no pride in the work, just slap some braids in, take the money, and send me on my way. I've had way better braids for the same price or less from other places. If you're looking for quality braids that actually last and someone who actually cares about doing a good job, skip this spot. Save your money and go somewhere else.
