The instructor was very helpful in explaining how each station worked and what I have to do at each one. He wasn't bothered by me asking for reminders periodically either, which made me feel better. You currently get a one week free trial, which includes the use of bag gloves. Paid members get their own bag gloves and a heart rate monitor, which you use during the workout to track your heart rate & calories burned, which is displayed on a tv screen while you work out, and recorded in the app you download. (I can't speak much about that since I'm still on the free trial. I'll update later if I decide to start a membership.) It has 12 different stations that you perform different exercises at and they change it up daily so you never get bored with the same routine. It's fast paced and hardcore, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I felt like vomiting when I left today! My legs also felt like jello, which means I'll be walking around like a baby giraffe tomorrow. Overall, I feel awesome and can't wait to go back.

It's great for the young who are taught self-discipline and control, and in the process discover self-esteem and respect for others. Ms. Cassie, the owner and main instructor, is always displaying a joyful and kind attitude to all. It's obvious that her students, again both young and old, love and appreciate her as their firm but kind leader. My daughter began as a student at Inner Strength when she was just 11years old. This was when Master Hoadley was the owner, and Ms. Cassie was a young black belt. It was he that created the process of learning "Inner Strength" through Tae Kon do, and it is more than evident that Ms. Cassie learned his technique well now that she took over the school since his retirement. My daughter, now 17, is a second degree black belt, and has even attained the place of instructor. I appreciate the lessons of life she has learned at Inner Strength, and the confidence she has in her abilities, mostly learned at this great school.

I had the pleasure of training with instructors at Mazu Muay Thai for a week while I was visiting…read morefrom out of state. I have taken Muay Thai classes from a handful of instructors and the head instructor, Cole is one of the most skilled. His approach is both laid back, and exceedingly detailed. He is able to concisely describe the rationale for doing a technique a certain way, which for me, is something I look for in a class. I do not go to Muay Thai to blow off steam and punch and kick things as hard as I can. I go to class to refine my technique and understand the WHY of how I am moving, defending, and attacking. When I sparred with some of the more competitive teenagers, it felt challenging but safe. I also appreciated the approach of one of the other instructors whose class I enjoyed, but who also made it a point to encourage the team to take care of their bodies, eat healthy, look out for each other, and reach out to him should they ever have any troubles. In this era of total disconnection, it was nice to see someone actively building community and offering support to members. I leave with more knowledge than I came with and I look forward to dropping in on my next trip!

Coach Cole has the ability to adjust his teaching methods to any age and skill level. I'm sure this comes from his many years of experience and his love of the sport. Joining Mazu Muay Thai is one of the best decisions we've ever made.
