There are several hotels to choose from in Modesto but I chose this one because reviews and their website shows Tesla wall chargers. Even better it's supposed to be complimentary! When I arrived at the hotel I found no Tesla charger but a much slower charge point charger. Oh well at least it's complimentary. NOPE! Even after verifying with the manager of the hotel I was still charged for charging my car. So I went to the front desk the next morning and the front desk person said it was complimentary. She had to look up the info on her computer then said oh we charge per hour. I asked for a refund or discount since I was given wrong information by several employees and book this hotel specifically for the charging benefits. They said they would not refund my charging fee and would not discount my room. She said she will give me points for my trouble. I don't use points but it is what it is. Now for the room. The floor looks brown and not something I want to walk on barefoot. The room/ hotel is definitely dated but works. The bed is comfortable and sheets look clean. The complimentary breakfast was great. Overall the hotel is good and fits its purpose. I would had chosen a different hotel if I had known about the charging issues.

The staff here is friendly and location is great. I like that there's a small fridge with small water bottles available. Also there's complimentary breakfast and coffee available through out the day. Housekeeping needs to STOP SPRAYING THE AWFUL Crap in the rooms. It is absolute overkill and you cant breathe. It has to be toxic! Are they trying to hide the pet smell or something? The sheer curtain in my room was ripped. Totally ghetto and Motel 6 vibe. The fitness center is tiny and cramped. Two treadmills right next to each other, a.biking machine and weights. I was in there with two huge sweating men. It was gross and needs better ventilation.

I usually have a very reliable experience at any Marriott location. This particular location appeared to be somewhat older. There was nothing really bad about this place, but I did feel it was not quite up to the typical Marriott standards. The place is clean and generally well taken care of. I did notice a hole in the fabric in the sofa in my room, but admittedly that is a small issue. Breakfast is included, It was ok, but again I thought the items available were somewhat weak compared to other locations.

Ventured to the bustling AG town of Modesto for my daughter's graduation. We chose this hotel due to its proximity and the pull out couch that resides with two queen beds. The hotel is very accommodating and warm with the staff very friendly and helpful. It's a quiet hotel well kept and clean. The breakfast had many choices and the staff was very present in making sure your needs were met. The only issue I had with the hotel, the restaurant last night and every stop we made (we brought kids) that the bathrooms were atrocious and this one with no toilet paper. I have to say that I've stayed in hotels around the world and Sequoia, who manned the front desk, was the best. She had patience, humor and professionalism.

Note the security bolt on the left only has one screw.

This is our second stay here in six weeks. It's one of three hotels on the same side of the street with another across the street. In the sense that we slept, bathed and had breakfast, the stay was successful. And while this is not a Marriott with the corresponding Marriott pricing, they could easily do much better without substantial investment. Last night, upon returning from dinner, there was a young man leaning at the check-in counter, no one behind the desk. He was doing something on his phone and did not look up or acknowledge us as we entered and walked past him. As we waited for the elevator, he stepped up with a stack of towels. We don't know if he was going to deliver the towels or take them to his own room. He thanked us when we held the elevator doors open for him. What concerns us is the apparent lack of staffing. Yes, I'm well aware of the COVID pandemic and the difficulty in hiring. At the same time I'm also aware that keeping your property safe for guests means also maintaining a visual presence. Breakfast this morning was busy and there was a constant flow of guests. For the most part, everything was kept clean and wiped down. The quality of the offerings was not as good as last time. The issue that stood out the most were that the turkey sausages and scrambled eggs weren't hot. Eggs were warm and sausages were room temperature. Additionally, the sausages looked like they may have suffered freezer burn and had been reheated from another day. They were dried out and I couldn't poke my plastic fork through one of them. The rooms have automatic deadbolts. They're supposed to engage when you shut the door. The one in this room did not work. It had the same problem that we experienced on our last visit. The doors are heavy and over time are sagging slightly in their frames. This causes the deadbolt to not align with the strike plate, effectively rendering the deadbolt useless. The simple fix would be to enlarge the strike plate receiver with a grinder. We realized upon getting ready to leave our room that the inside security latch on our door was being held in place by one out of three screws. The other two were missing. See picture. This hotel is still much better than the one at the other end and we have yet to try the one in the middle. Will we stay here again? We'll have to think on that.

Very customer focused, giving us everything that we asked and was very helpful with getting us our room key and checked in. She is a very happy personality and a smile for every customer, which is what you want when you walk into any business. We arrived at the room and it was spotless. The beds were nice and tight looking sheets on it and it looked very comfortable. We were real happy with the Room. Rooms here also come with a breakfast in the morning, which is pretty substantial and as you come in through the front door, you greeted with flavored waters in a container fill up your glass and they were delicious. This is really a nice place to stay with friendly people.

The hotel is easy to find right off the 99 freeway at the intersection of Sisk Road and Bangs Ave. Plenty of parking. Check in was easy and efficient with the friendly front desk staff, I even got my rewards points posted. My room was clean and ready. First thing I do is check the WiFi and log in my laptop. Yep, everything is working fine, speed is fine. Looking in the bathroom, everything is clean and no stray hairs not of my color or creepy crawly guys running about. The hot water is good and hot, cause I love to take long hot showers when stay at hotels, cause my hot water at home sure doesn't last that long! Breakfast is good as usual, all the same stuff as all the Holiday Inn Expresses. Hot entrees, like eggs, potatoes, and the amusing pancake machine I never use. I love those cinnamon rolls for sure! This hotel is a good location, I'll stay here again.

Courtney was very compassionate and accommodating. She made our check-in very easy and was always available to help with any questions and concerns during my 5 or 6 days. There was also a woman named Yolanda. I confided in her how my mother was doing and what my faith was and she graciously opened her heart and offered to pray with me. She was so sincere and this act of kindness meant a lot to me. All of their staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and we felt very safe and secure here. There is a laundry room and they also provide a full breakfast which is included in your stay and that was very helpful considering all the additional expenses we were accruing while being out of state. I appreciate all the interaction from staff and absolutely recommend this location. Thank you all for your hospitality.

Unprofessional Front Desk Interaction -- Felt Judged and Singled Out…read more On Sunday, October 11, around 9:30 p.m., I had an uncomfortable and unnecessary interaction with a front desk employee at the West Palms in Modesto. I walked into the hotel after running errands. I had my earphones in when a woman at the front desk called out, "Excuse me, sir? Excuse me, sir?" I took my earphones off, turned around, and acknowledged her. She then questioned whether I even belonged at the hotel. I told her I was staying there and was simply getting hot water. She responded by explaining that other people sometimes come in just to use the hot water and hotel amenities. First of all, I understand that hotels have security policies and that staff may need to verify whether someone is a registered guest. That's not the issue. The issue is how you approach people and the assumptions you make about them. I had paid for my room and was simply using the amenities available to me as a guest. I was clean-shaven and presentable. There was nothing about my behavior that warranted being treated as though I didn't belong there. I provided my last name and room number to confirm that I was a registered guest. I even acknowledged that I understood she was trying to keep the property safe. Her response was simply, "I do," delivered in a way that came across as arrogant and dismissive. As a Latino man, I couldn't help but question whether my appearance played a role in how I was treated. Her interaction left me feeling judged and singled out based on how I looked rather than anything I had done. What bothered me most was the unnecessary attitude and the assumption that I needed to justify my presence at a hotel where I was already paying to stay. I remained respectful throughout the interaction and ended the conversation by wishing her a good day. I'm writing this review because I don't believe this is an acceptable way to treat paying guests. You can enforce security policies without making people feel unwelcome, suspicious, or inferior. Being a hotel employee does not give anyone the right to approach guests with an unnecessary judgment or make them feel as though they don't belong. Management should take this feedback seriously. Guests deserve to be treated with basic courtesy, fairness, and respect, regardless of their appearance, ethnicity, or whether they happen to be carrying a backpack. Security is one thing; making someone feel singled out is another.

When I checked in, I specifically told the front desk that we had a very small, two-pound Yorkie with us. Nothing was mentioned about a $75 pet fee. Around 1:30 a.m., while I wasn't feeling well, I went downstairs with my dog to purchase a couple of drinks from the lobby market. The employee working the desk then informed me that the person who checked me in was a trainee, that I should have been charged a $75 pet fee, and proceeded to have me sign the pet paperwork--asking me to backdate it to the previous day. I understand hotels have pet policies and fees, and I have no problem paying a fee when it is properly disclosed. My issue was how this was handled. I had been upfront about the dog from the beginning, yet I was made to feel as though I had done something wrong because of an employee training mistake. The facility was good, but the late-night interaction felt rude, uncomfortable, and unnecessarily confrontational. Instead of feeling like a guest, I felt bamboozled and hassled over something I had disclosed at check-in. Better communication and a little courtesy would have made a huge difference.

First of all, fantastic customer service. From the moment you arrive, during and at departure. If I could name another first, it's the cleanliness! The room was fantastic - super spacious room and bathroom! The shower was a treat, as it's modern and large. Packed with toiletries. There were nice touches that made you feel at home and had a delightful aroma. Even when I woke up (I slept in considering how cozy the bed was) I could smell the freshness. Given the time of year, the room was set perfect toasty throughout the day and evening when it got very chilly. It's a bonus to have a coffee maker in the room but you can also swing by the lobby and grab a fresh cup. Conveniently located right off the highway and nearby plenty of stores and restaurants. Go to the room and gnats are flying, floor is wet, phone is unhooked, there are cockroaches crawling, and the most disgusting thing I've ever seen, boogers all over the walls. I literally started gagging when the kids pointed them out!! We go to front desk and I'm like yeah I know you're used to people complaining but can we cancel this reservation to go somewhere else and she wad just like no one ever complains, I don't know anything about the rooms, that I have to call Wyndham if i want any help, so I asked her to please put a note on my reservation and she just goes, I can say you left, like uh this is the least helpful front desk.
