This hotel is always nice and clean when I stay. The rooms are spacious. And smells fresh. The location is perfect. There's a gym and pool on the 5th floor. You're close to the beach and all the restaurants. Theres breakfast in the morning in the lobby. It's a pretty good breakfast at that. The staff are friendly and will try to help you with all your needs. Beautiful place to stay.

Veggie patty was not great but they did have a variety of breakfast options

Yikes! I am really surprised because I came here 2 years ago for work meetings and things have changed LOTS. Apparently a new management/ownership team has come in and there were lots of misses. Stayed on a Tuesday night. I will highlight a few right now: 1. Toilet handle was broke in the middle of the night, apparently no one could help since maintenance left on a weekday around 10pm so no one was on site to help. The sound of water kept running most of the night keeping us from sleep. Front desk lady was nice and said she could come up to look at it or I could just try to hook the chain in the toilet myself. Since my kids were sleeping I opted to figure it out. The issue was the handle and not the chain--I tightened it myself but it kept coming loose each time we needed to use the bathroom---needed new handle. 2. Wake up call at 6:30am from PREVIOUS guest was still in effect. We all got woken up by the ring of the telephone. Especially after toilet running night that was rough. 3. Charged for what we didn't buy! Good thing I checked with front desk about the charges because they said we had gotten 2 waters and were charged. This never happened. 4. Apparently a pest infestation of something was going on, saw the exterminator on site while we were getting breakfast and they were talking about pests being around the juice station and food---maybe a bunch of gnats but it was not a good look (see picture) while I was getting breakfast at 8:30am. The two stars are for the location, and the room we got as it was overall a nice room as I remembered it. Spacious with a balcony that was not on the train side as I requested. What changed? I guess management/ownership. Last time we could rent bikes and surfboards, they even gave free beer when you checked in. The key cards had to be used to get to your hotel room floor---that is no longer in effect (or at least not when we were staying there). As I mentioned these to the front desk they said someone would reach out to me because they essentially said they could do nothing. Will update if I hear anything yelpers.

There's a lot to like: - location is great - Room is spacious. Got a two queen with a trundle bed and there was a mini fridge, microwave, desk, and bathroom barn door seals for privacy. -location is great, one block from beach and plenty of restaurants or movie theatre - Free water dispensers in lobby and on floors. - lobby is really nice and spacious The not so great: - Parking is $40 and the parking spots are tight for a midsize SUV. TIP: There's an outdoor lot literally right next to the hotel, which you have to pass through to get to the hotel garage, that is $25/day, - We were there Friday-Sunday and there was a band playing outdoors each night until about 9:15pm. We have small kids so not ideal but we managed. There was a sound machine in the room so they probably got complaints about it before. - there are no ocean view rooms. The hotel in front blocks direct oceans view. - The elevators are sloooww. There's only two elevators, only one elevator goes to parking, and there's no freight elevator so staff use the regular ones. This leads to REGULAR backups where there's 2-3 groups waiting for the elevator at the lobby and room levels. This was our first time staying at SpringHill Suites and didn't know there wasn't a bell hop or valet.

Very nice and clean. Acceptable welcome but not so accommodating. Three rooms for the family and rooms are nice but my son's TV did not work. Called front desk at around big 5:30 pm and front desk lady said they'll send somebody to fix it. Got fixed eventually after waiting awhile. Rooms were clean and organized. Three separate units 1 each family). View at roof top pool was amazing. Had family fun in the pool with three of my kids and their family. Not a bad experience after all.

Rooftop pool. Jacuzzi on the right side. Kids loved it.

Everything went well. This hotel was clean and maintained. Staff was always friend. Parking is $40 a night and parking lot is kind of tight. Complimentary breakfast was great. A block away from the Pacific ocean and next to the train station. I recommend this hotel.

So many things have changed. It didn't feel as welcoming this time around. They didn't honor the late checkout with my Bonboy Status

196/2024 Upon checking in we were helped out by a nice gentleman at the register counter! This hotel by Marriott offers a short walk to the beach and Restaurants downtown. Grandkids enjoyed the roof top pool while others tried to build muscles at the very limited equipments at the fitness center and for me I just lounged by the pool admiring from the roof top view the ocean. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a balcony view of 2nd floor's open outdoor seating area with game activities. Convenient Parking area accessible from basement and to the hotel lobby by an elevator. A very delicious free breakfast served from 6 am - 9 am weekdays. We enjoyed an array buffet of crispy bacon, scrambled egg , fritata, waffles, cereals, hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, condiments, coffee , hot water for tea or cocoa.... and many more ... with the undivided attention that distracted me from taking breakfast photos was my adorable 2 year old granddaughter ! Will sure come and stay here again when in the area!!

Our room was not ready on time. We tried to check in and the lady at the front desk said they would call when our room was ready - she did not. Eventually we showed up again after dinner and the room was ready... I get rooms can be late, but if you say you're going to call, you should call. We paid for an ocean view room, not on train side. You cannot see the ocean from anywhere in this room no matter what angle you try. You can see and hear trains all day and night! Staff was argumentative and unhelpful. Would not recommend.

This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of oceanside. Although this hotel doesn't offer room service, there is a restaurant just around the corner on the ground floor. They offer free hot breakfast in the lobby and ice cold water in the elevator bank on each floor. As someone who's disabled I was really impressed with the facilities at this hotel. I'm not in a wheelchair but I do have limited mobility. I know they have wheelchair accessible rooms with roll in showers, though I did not have one. I had a room with a step in shower (no tub) which was perfect for me. What I thought was really amazing was that the steps into and out of the pool and jacuzzi were not steep so I had no problem getting in and out of either. They also had a chairlift for both the pool and the jacuzzi. I see chairlifts at pools at hotels all the time but there isn't often one for the jacuzzi too. There is no attendant at the pool so to use one you would probably have to call someone to assist, but at least they have them. I was so impressed with how accessible the pool and jacuzzi were for people in wheelchairs and for people with limited mobility. I will definitely stay here again in the future. Cons: The outlets on one side of the bed didn't work. The shower didn't have any grab bars so it was scary for someone like me with limited mobility to get in and out. The location of the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash is horrible. You can't get anything from the bottle to your head without it being washed away by the shower water. The easy solution is to bring your own

We stayed here over the weekend of early October. I love this hotel for its location and cleanliness. I love going with Marriott chain hotels to keep maintaining my status plus the ease of checking in, requesting, checking out via the app now is a feature that is almost a must for me. I loved our room, had a balcony with table and chairs and partial ocean view. Air was breezy. Room was super clean and smelled so good. I didn't go down for the complimentary breakfast though but they offer it for elite members here as other Springhills. I didn't interact much with the staff but on the two occasion they were quite courteous. Would definitely come again, can't beat the location!

Roll in shower with small flat area to shower and a dip into the bathroom
    Tiff M.

This was our first time staying here. I will start with the cons because there are very few. The king bed was ok. The pull out sleeper sofa was not comfortable at all to sleep on. I tried sleeping on the mattress, then the mattress with the couch cushions, then the couch itself, non gave me sleep. We had the accessible room for my parents and the shower was horrible. It was supposed to be to be a roll in shower, it was not. The bench is sturdy, but there is a weird slope that floods the bathroom. And the flat part is so tiny it is hard to keep your balance to shower. The shampoo and conditioner were very watery, the body wash smelled so good, but there was no lotion. And there is only one elevator that goes to the basement where you park. Meaning if you don't get the correct one, you will have to ride the one to the lobby get off and wait for the one that goes to the basement. Now the pros. From check in to check out, the staff was amazing. Some were quiet but very friendly and helpful. From getting extra towels when needed due to the shower flooding to giving me a little extra time to check out to help load my parents in the car. The room was cozy and entire hotel very clean. Love the security of needing a key to get to the garage and up to the rooms. The lobby is spacious and they have fresh cold water on each floor. A small market for the necessities you forgot, and fire pits inside and out. We were on the terrace level which gave the extra space on the patio. The rooms seemed sound, only heard the doors when slammed shut. In a great location to walk to many restaurants and the markets in Thursdays. Close to the beach which is my favorite. I just wish it had a beach view. I enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. Both a nice size. The outside shower had great pressure and did get pretty hot which is great for the cold nights. We do want to stay again, we just hope they improve the shower for comfort and safety and the comfort of the beds. I was so easy to get in and out of the hotel and the garage and has many handicapped parking spots.

The check in process was a little odd because you aren't really sure how to get to your room until you figure out where the elevator is but once you get the door code down and know where to go it's super easy. The staff is very kind and diligent, it made a good impression. I had a room with two queen beds (spacious) with a nice view of the pool area. The main pain points for me was the room lighting (one side was significantly dimmer than the other with all lights on) and the bed blankets (it was oddly arranged and extremely uncomfortable). Pros: 1.located between 78 and 76 freeways and easy to get to most shopping areas. 2. Employee named, Victor, was very kind to bring to our room fresh sheets and extra towels when we requested He was friendly and courteous. 3. Generally speaking, front desk staff was kind. 4. Change was always available for the laundry. 5. Amenities: Pool and Jacuzzi. Fire pit, BBQ grill. Gym, laundry room. Tiny mini mart with alcohol and junk food for last minute grabs. 6. Continental breakfast everyday. As vegans, we enjoyed cereal (varies), oats (cooked in water) with a variety of toppings (brown sugar, nuts, coconut flakes, raisins, etc), potatoes, bagels, fresh fruit (usually bananas), orange juice, and coffee. Oat milk was available upon request (we knew to ask for it because the lady who checked us in said it was available). 7. Rooms had a kitchenette which included: electric mini stove with 2 burners (no oven), full size fridge, microwave, stove, single cup coffee pot, full size dishwasher. Also included pans, colander, mugs, cups, wine glasses, utensils, knives, cutting board, wine/bottle opener, bowls, plates, large cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, paper towels, and dishwasher pods. Cons: 1. Although I've always been excited for salsa nights,, the Junkyard Restaurant in the same shopping center was pretty rowdy on a Tuesday night and you could totally hear and feel the music, even over our sound machines. 2. The sofa bed sheets had not been changed since their last guest.l when we checked in. 3. I always had to request extra towels from the lobby because when we chose to have our room serviced, they took all the towels and did not replace the same number of towels. 4. The pans were scratched up badly. No way it's safe to cook in those pans unless you're wanting to eat Teflon and other leaching chemicals. 5. When I had questions about the waffles containing dairy or egg, the tall white man replied rudely. If I recall correctly he said, "of course it does, why wouldn't it.?!" His tone and manner of speaking took me by surprise since he appeared to be management. Another employee had said it was vegan but because I know better being vegan, I needed to confirm. My husband also asked him if they had a particular cereal my daughter had the previous day and he was also rude to my husband. This was on 2 separate days so it's fair to say this guy has a bad attitude and no empathy for others. This probably irked me the most out of my hotel experience. 6. Another guest before us stuck the wrong detergent in the washer and caused the foam to bubble out of the machine on our load. 7. No vegan options other than alcohol in the mini mart in the hotel. It would have been nice to have a few things without dairy, 8. Table was only big enough for 2. We had our kids eat at the desk. 9. Carpet is dirty- as in your feet and socks are black/brown after walking on the carpet. 10. Only no add Netflix accounts can take advantage of signing in to the Netflix account on the smart TV. Overall, I would probably stay here if I had to, but probably wouldn't be my first choice.

There's free parking here which is great compared to the other Marriott properties. There's breakfast from 6-9am. It's not the huge spread but it was what you would imagine with this level of hotel. The elevators are quick, so the highest floor is 4 and isn't annoying to get to. There's a basketball court and pretty nice size pool and jacuzzi if you are feeling recreational. The business center is there for free printing if needed. The rooms are a nice size and of course there's flatware and plates and pans for cooking if you need it. The only current knock that I have is the ac didn't get below 68. This is pretty common in San Diego hotels that the ac doesn't function properly. If you like to sleep at 66 degrees don't expect the ac to be able to get the room temp down that low. I'm sure once it gets worse then they will replace their system. Great job guys.
