The facilities of this hotel are fine...it's a Springhill Suites not a 4 Seasons and no one is asking it to be something it is not. But the customer service and stinginess of the ownership is quite evident. When they say breakfast is done at 9:30 on a weekend (and let's be real, who only has breakfast until 9:30 on a weekend), they mean that all the food is away by 9:30. I never thought I would have to fight someone for a banana before it went back into the kitchen to be reused for tomorrow. In addition, it seemed that mostly everyone (except the younger crew-cut male on the morning shift) who worked behind the front desk did not want to speak to any guests and would actively try to not be customer facing and simply just point to get their point across. When we asked if they would be willing to give us a complimentary bottle of water at 1:30 am we just got a point to a fridge to buy it. As a Platinum member, you really couldn't spare a bottle of water in the middle of the night. read more

I stayed here a couple of nights for business recently and the property definitely needs some updating and work! Checking in was smooth. The room was a 2 out of 5, as the toilet kept running every 10 minutes or so, must've been leaking inside the tank. The thermostat on the wall was broken open and there was a sticker to use the one on the unit itself. The shower had two pipes sticking out of the wall and if you turned it on and turned the valve to switch from the upper shower head, water would squirt straight from one of these two random pipes sticking out of the wall - VERY ODD! The bed was soft, not as firm as many Marriott properties usually are and there were stains I found, fortunately on the other side of the bed than the side I was using - GROSS! The elevators both were damaged (the walls inside) and very stinky. Overall, the entire property is clearly just being used by the ownership to get all the money they can from it without reinvesting any into keeping it looking nice and functional. read more

Over the few years I or my extended family have stayed at this property and its always been a great stay. It was a quiet location until One Loudoun was built out as it is now...and no surprise the property is even more busier. First my thanks to GM Jacob Alibrandi who fit me in with a nice upgrade. He runs a really nice property (1 minor hiccup with Housekeeping explained later). Breakfast is the highlight of the property especially because of Rohina Salman who manages to greet all of her guests, keep the buffet fresh and full and allows everyone I saw to leave very happy. Given news of various Marriott cutbacks, this property delivers a really good buffet and I heard the same from several guests. The rooms are spacious and well laid out with a desk. The smart TV is nice and a differentiator for Marriott. Small but efficient gym. Looks like someone walked away with some weights (10 pounds) and you have to remind staff to ensure clean wipes are available especially in this pandemic environment. Lots of parking outside and easy access to One Loudoun and just about anywhere with Route 7 and Route 28. One suggestion on Housekeeping. Its every other day but you have to notify the front desk. I did and was missed even though I also personally spoke to the 2 ladies in the morning. Mohammed the night shift person was king to provide me clean towels and a refreshment. The next day it was cleaned. A really nice stay. I provided gratuities to Housekeeping and Ms. Salman just to show my appreciation. I hope other guests do the same. read more

Pros: comfortable rooms, nice set up with separate shower and toilet. Clean. Cons: first room: door would not accept programed keys, so they switched us to another room. 2nd room: lights in bathroom didn't work. We asked front desk to fix it but they didn't. We shaved/put makeup on I. The closet because it was best light. Could not use Wi-Fi unless you signed up for their program, and wifi was spotty after that. They turned off water from 11-4 for repairs, and offered bottles of water to the guests, but then charged $3 a.piece. read more

10/23/21 Nice quiet and comfortable hotel. This hotel is set up for Halloween; as well, as taking clientele to different gatherings. I only saw a little bit of the hotel while waiting for clients, but the men's bathroom was spot on in cleanliness. The Virgin Mary herself, would be proud to go in there and take a dump....*thank you R. Lee Ermey.* I appreciated the offer of a cold bottle of water from the front desk associate. Sorry I did not catch her name, but her hair looked red and she looked to be 5'8 or 5'9 in heels. The hospitality here is good. I also have never seen a front desk area so close to the main entrance. Stayed at SpringHill Suites the night before surgery at Inova Loudoun. The check in process was quick and easy and the person at the front desk was friendly. Our room left a little to be desired. The bed was super stiff and the AC wasn't on when we got to the room (on a day when it had been in the 90s) and it probably took til like 4 am for it to get cool (I think we checked in around 9 pm). When we first got to the room and flicked the light switch on, nothing happened. We had to go around the room and individually turn on each light, which at 9 pm traveling as 2 women alone in an unfamiliar area was a bit spooky. The shower was great -- had very good pressure. However the room we were in was a handicap room and the seat in the shower was broken (which was ok bc we didn't need it but if I was someone who needed that for accessibility it would be very upset). Also the toilet in the bathroom sounded like it had water running the whole night. I wasn't able to try the breakfast but it looked like your standard hotel fare. Parking was super easy and well lit which was nice. read more

Hotel offers airport shuttle. Offers free breakfast between 7-10am. Rooms are nice and spacious. I got the kid bed suite. The shower and toilet are in two separate areas which is nice. My only complaint is there was a smell in the room. Not too bad but I noticed. Didn't ask to change rooms since I was there one night. This property needs some serious maintenance and better breakfast. At the itty bitty pool which apparently is not maintained properly. Today is August 6 and on the white board at pool the last date the ph was checked was July 10. GROSS! It the exercise room many of the weights are missing and the weight bench has a tear in it. The complimentary breakfast has to be the skimpiest breakfast at ANY Marriott I've stayed. Most have a waffle maker, scrambled eggs and fresh pastry, none of the above. Next one of the elevators was out of service. I have stayed at many Marriott over my 40 years of travel, this is the second worst. The worst was a Fairfield Inn in Niagara Falls. To the owner/manager, It appears it's time to start maintaining your property better and try and raise your standards to equal the quality stay it's known for. read more

I have traditionally stayed at a different Marriott while visiting the Ashburn area but it happened to be fully booked this particular week, so I decided upon SpringHill Suites as an alternative. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay! Parking was very convenient, lobby was modern and clean, front desk members professional and pleasant. My room was quite spacious -- there were 2 beds and a separate super cute office space with desk and sofa. The shower and the toilet each had their own areas within the room (they're not housed together, which is different). Gym open 24/7 -- 2 treadmills, an elliptical, and a bunch of free weights. Small indoor pool next to it. Some fast foods options directly across the street and One Loudoun within a mile (lots of restaurants and shops) - this is an awesome neighborhood and very safe (I used to live in Ashburn/Sterling). One minor gripe: coffee was only available in the hotel lobby between 5-9am. Despite the pandemic, this seemed unusual as most hotels I've used still have coffee available almost all day, if not 24/7. Dining, of course, is not operating at this time beyond cold foods served at breakfast. Also: you can very easily hear noises from rooms above -- walking, bathroom flushing, etc. I am a sound sleeper, so it didn't bother me too much but could be an issue for others. Decent and reasonably priced for a short stay. read more

9/11/2024 hotel is complete surrounded by law enforcement. Spoke with front desk and the answer was be glad someone was not killed. Don't stay here potentially not safe. Police everywhere, spoke with another employee and they said the breakfast is good, WTF, despite what was going on. Elevators full of police. Not safe!!! Consider other options. Very questionable hotel. Please rethink staying here. I wish I would have. Trust me! read more

This has been by far the worst hotel I've stayed. Starting with breakfast, it's sad. Only thing available was some breakfast biscuit and something else I have no clue what it was. Not only didn't have options but what was there was cold n stiff. Coffee in the morning was great. Mid day not so much. Fitness room has very little dumbbells and one of the treadmills was not working. Only good thing was the staff. Front desk staff was very nice, but is not enough to want to come back here. Stayed here for a night when traveling for work. Room was very clean and spacious. Had a virtual meeting and only had 5 minutes from the time I walked in the door. I called ahead and explained my situation to the front desk. He had my key ready and got me checked in in seconds. Breakfast was great, workout area was nice. Wish I would have had time to jump in the pool before I left. Would highly recommend. read more

I booked two rooms here for 12.10.23 to 12.11.23 stay. We had rooms 208 and 215. We discovered that the heat in room 208 and the toilet in the same room were not working. When the front desk worker came upstairs to the room he was completely lost as to what to do. He first asked if there was a other toilet that could be used. I guess he was subliminally asking if my guest in room 208 could walk down the hall every time they needed to use the bathroom. Then with the heat issue he suggested that they just continue to raise the heat which was on 80 but blowing clear cold air with no heat in sight. It was a entire circus to get the room switched to another room. I think this is extremely ridiculous for a marriott hotel. These issues need to be addressed. The issue that I encountered in room 215 was that my toilet ran all night long which was very disturbing which means I barely got any sleep at all and to drive from jersey to VA I was extremy pissed behind these issues. read more

Stayed here for a week - and while not my favorite Marriott I've stayed at, it worked. While the hotel itself is ok the new side, the room I was in was rather dark (I was in the back of the hotel). The bedding is definitely a step down from other Marriott brands, but certainly not the worst. While it was nice to have the toilet and shower separated, it felt a little awkward to navigate between the two spaces when getting ready. The room comes with a small fridge, big enough to keep a few drinks cold and some snacks, and a microwave. I liked how the sleeping area felt separated from the couch and desk as it provided distinct spaces in the room. The TV also swiveled and could be watched from the bed, couch, or desk. Having this option was great! While breakfast is provided, I never ate at the hotel and always opted for Starbucks down the road in One Loudon - not necessarily walkable but a short drive or shuttle ride away. Speaking of the shuttle, I used it almost daily to get around. Sometimes I had to wait as it was making an airport run, but was thankful it was offered as a service. I usually took it to One Loudon, mainly restaurants - you are bound to find one that meets your appetite; but there are some shops too! I believe the shuttle will take you within a 5 mile radius which gives you opportunities to get to places beyond One Loundon or to/from the airport. I usually had Kumar as a driver - who provided wonderful, friendly service and great conversation. Kumar made me feel comfortable and even provided some insight into the Ashburn area. Overall a clean hotel with friendly service. read more

Just checked in here for a wedding nearby. This trip will put me over 356 nights in a Marriott in 4 years. The hotel looks new and the Springhill line has gotten so much better lately. Lot of shops and restaurants nearby. The staff so far has been friendly. The only thing so far I've noticed is the gym looked less than killer. The equipment was newer but not very much and not a very big space. read more

Surprisingly, this hotel is actually quite modern. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but has a lovely lobby with feminine drapes and accents. The rooms are also adorned with soft lighting, colors and fabric. That's not to say that this hotel is luxurious at the least - it's really not. There is still a dorm-like feel to the rooms and the bathroom was really small, but for a moderately priced chain hotel, I was pleasantly surprised. (Obviously a 4 star for this does not make it comparable to a stay at a boutique hotel, but for it's scale it's not too shabby.) What bumped my rating up from a 3 star to a 4 star however is the continental breakfast in the morning. It's much more elaborate than I anticipated. Plenty of baked goods, pastries, eggs, juices, coffee, a waffle making station...and no crowds to fight with. Plus, there is plenty of parking. Which I guess should be expected when you're in the middle of nowhere. read more

I'm fairly certain that this hotel doesn't change sheets after each guest. I was walking through the hallway and the maid carts have no sheets in them, only towels. I'm fully aware that hotels do not clean the blanket/comforter but you have to change the sheets for sanitary purposes. Upon further inspection of the sheets there were definitely lots of hairs in the sheets and multiple stains on the pillowcases. I also found long hairs throughout the entire suite. I've stayed twice for business but I'm going to have to look for another hotel. read more

I had to visit Ashburn for a week long business trip and was hoping I would experience a positive and relaxing hotel experience. The Springhill Suites was exactly what I needed. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and friendly each morning and evening. There is a decent selection of frozen meals, snacks, drinks, and beer in the lobby if you don't feel like leaving the hotel. The prices are a bit expensive for the snack items, but it's a small price to pay if you don't want to leave the hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect because there are some great spots to visit a half a mile down the road. Some notable options are Top Golf and a countless number of amazing restaurants in the One Loudoun plaza (B One, World of Beer Etc). Right across the street there's a Chick-fil-A and Taco Bell if you want something extremely quick and close. The room was unbelievably nice, clean, and organized. It had plenty of room and was designed extremely well. You can tell the layout and the amenities were upgraded and the hotel was not outdated at all. The continental breakfast was great with scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruit, coffee, and cereal options. The hotel also has a small gym with a treadmill and elliptical, as well as a small pool and hot tub that is located indoors. I would not mind being sent back to Virginia to stay in this hotel again. read more

Stayed here during a business trip. This place is really conveniently located right off the highway and is about 15 minutes away from Dulles airport. They have a lot of parking, a gym, free wifi with no password and free breakfast. They don't have a restaurant but have a small convenience store of sorts in the front. You can pick up some snacks, soups, mac and cheese and drinks. Just make sure you look at the expiration dates. I picked up some soup and saw they were expired by 2 months. The breakfast is not really too great, you can get some eggs and poorly cooked bacon, cereal, bagels and pastries. There's an assortment of fruit, coffee, tea and juices available too. The rooms are really large and comfortable. I requested a king but got 2 queens instead. The interesting thing was the shower is separated from the toilet. The toilet room is just as big as the bathroom with the shower and sink. There's a microwave and fridge in every room accompanied by plastic cutlery that can be conveniently found in the microwave itself. Pretty nice little hotel, just wish they had a bar & restaurant on premise. read more

This Springhill Suites by Marriott does NOT offer mobile check in and digital key. This means you have to deal with (and wait for) the front desk guy too busy playing games on his phone. It would be nice if Marriott portfolio properties were consistent in the use of mobile check in and digital key through the Bonvoy app. read more

Very clean hotel. We stayed at a double queen hotel suite and it was really nice. There was a good size pull out sofa bed, a nice size computer desk with table lamp, and a large walk in closet. This hotel is very family friendly. The pool is a nice but small. The free breakfast is ok they don't have a lot of options and it's really not great. They have a great cereal dispenser with 4 different types of cereal to choose from like Froot Loops, special K, cocoa pebbles and cheerios. They have oatmeal with a topping station. They also had boiled eggs, Swiss and egg on English muffin ( not good) individual spinach and cheese egg bite ( taste was not good). The next day they had sausage biscuit sandwich no eggs, some egg soufflé that's was just awful and the same oatmeal. I wish they offered more options like waffles, bacon, eggs, different variety of toasts, bagels with cream cheese and home fries like other free breakfasts. I did like that have a minifriegeHowever it's still not bad for free and the coffee is really good. The other bonus is that there is chick fill-a right across the street from hotel. And it's walking distance and They have a play space for the kids. There is also a bounce house 1 mile away and there is a close by park. This location is loaded with amazing restaurants. Great place for the price. If you are traveling with family this hotel is ideal. read more

This was a one-night stay, and it was exactly the same lobby layout as another Springhill Suites we stayed at in California a few years ago. That made it familiar to us. :-) Desk clerks were friendly and accommodating. There's a little 'market' right there where you can buy sundries and food items. (snacks and food to cook in your microwave in the room) Breakfast was a combination of the standard Continental style with added hot items such as eggs, sausage and waffles. Rooms were clean, and had a cool layout. I liked how the shower and a sink were in one sub-room of the main room, and then a toilet and another sink were in another sub-room. With three of us in the room, it made it easy to get ready without having to wait in line or walk all over each other. There are plenty of outlets in the room which has always been a problem in most hotels. And they host free wi-fi. All in all, we liked this hotel and would go back to it again. read more

My husband and I stayed here for a night away (even though we live super close) and it was cheap and super relaxing. The breakfast was awesome (can't beat scrambled eggs, bacon, and make-your-own waffles) and the room was really nice. The bed was comfortable and there was also a pull-out bed in the sofa which would have been good for a bigger party. It's a newer hotel and you can just tell it's newer. Even the lobby is more modern. I just really enjoyed the hotel and I found it very relaxing. The only thing I found weird was the breakfast was in the lobby. Normally at hotels that have free breakfast there's a separate room or at least some kind of divider between people checking out and people eating but here it's pretty much all one area. Overall it was a beautiful hotel and a very relaxing stay. read more

While I do find it frustrating that there was absolutely nothing that Spring Hill was willing to do for us, or help us with (it was more irritating that there was no reason, every response was "no.") I do understand that it is policy. I really wish they would have explained the reasoning more or doing what they could have, even it was little to show their appreciation with our business. Cheap and NO COMPLAINTS! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night after his work's holiday party, which was at the Lansdowne Resort nearby. The Resort filled up quickly (he works at a major corporate accounting firm), and this hotel was the first overflow hotel, which his company provided free shuttles from and to for the event. There was ample parking, free, good breakfast in the morning (waffle bar!!!), free Wifi, and very friendly/helpful front desk staff. I needed a late checkout the next day because I was participating in a web conference call, and I got it without a problem, which was generous, since their normal checkout is already 12 PM. The room itself was fantastic! Very spacious, very modern, and lots of space to put things. The couch is huge and so is the closet. The bathrooms are separated into toilet/sink and shower/sink, which was slightly odd, but also awesome. We got this hotel for $79 on a Friday night on hotels.com, which was even cheaper than this discounted rate for the block of rooms through my boyfriend's company. Granted, it is in the middle of nowhere, but if you have a car or are being shuttled, it is a great place to stay. I'd definitely stay again! Extra perk: 5 pillows for each Queen bed. FIVE PILLOWS! If you're a pillow nut like me, you'll be sleeping on feather-y bliss at this place. read more

This hotel provides the best bang for the buck and I have stayed in far more costlier and less attractive hotels than this. The room design is chic and comforting, staff is very friendly and during our last visit they helped me change my room from king to double queen at no charge. I felt right at home when we stepped into this hotel and every time I visit VA I stay at this place. Also, their breakfast is awesome and saves me the hassle of looking for a nice breakfast place when I am in town. This is a must stay place for everyone going to Dulles. This location is very convenient for business, but a bit sad to stay at if you wanted to check out DC or Alexandria. I came here for a business trip, and everything from the free airport shuttle to the quick check in, the proximity to customer, free wifi, free breakfast and restaurants within walking distance were great. Rooms were fine, what you might expect from a typical lower end Marriott branch hotel. The shuttle was around 10-20 minutes late so take that into account for timing travel. I was hoping to catch public transport to DC that night but the GW shuttle stops running around 7:30 and the closest metro stop is a $30 uber ride away. I could have rented a car but did not anticipate the need so perhaps a bit of a blunder on my own due diligence. Snacks are at a fee and limited to what they have in the lobby market. The seating in lobby was spacious and I saw some people meeting there. Another plus is that they do have a pool and hot tub! I recommend this hotel if you are in and out for a day meeting or have a car. read more
