It's quaint, quiet, very clean, easy to find and they have parking which I appreciate. Unfortunately, I have to give 0 stars to the booking process, the communication, and overall organization. I saw a style on their TikTok (Fulani braids with crochet in the front or Jayda wayda braids), which has been trending lately. I must have commmented three times on their TikTok asking information about the style and how to contact them to ask specific questions. They never replied, but to be fair, not all businesses reply on TikTok so I did not hold that against them, it can be overwhelming to monitor those comments. Next, my assistant reached out to them via email on the 17th, they didn't reply, to be clear, they didn't have this style on their booking page so we needed clarity and instructions on how to book it. After not hearing for them on the third day she followed up with an IG message and then a call. There were still more questions after their IG message , so we followed up and took another two days and we hadn't heard anything . I was getting desperate at this point because it was the Thursday and I was hoping to get an appointment Saturday. I called them and left a message and no reply. I then text them on Thursday and didnt hear from them till Friday. They told me who to book and how to book, mind you, when my assistant wrote them they quoted a price, in the text message they quoted a different price. She said at that time she didn't realize it was a specific style, so she then quoted another price. Finally she quoted another price. Yes, in one conversation, three different prices. They do not coordinate with each other across communication methods. They also mentioned that I had to bring my own hair for the crochet which was fine. However nobody advised me how much hair to bring, I followed advise from the vendor and brought 4 bundles. To be quite frank, Hadja is a miracle worker, the hair wasn't really enough and it's very sparse in the back but Hadja made it work and made it look good. The fact that it was curly also helped. I give a 1 star for the booking, communication, and coordination. 5 stars for Hadja, so an average of 3. I would recommend going to Yonti if the style you want is already on their booking page so you do not have to deal with trying to reach them for questions. I would definitely go back and make an appointment with Hadja, she's really the best.

I strongly believe in supporting local small businesses because I run one myself, but my experience last Thursday was the last straw. My 4-year-old became suddenly ill at daycare with a high fever, blisters, and severe irritability. I called immediately to cancel / reschedule his 5:30 PM appointment out of courtesy for other children and staff. Michelle treated me with absolute hostility and charged a $16 cancellation fee without a shred of understanding. This matches the poor treatment my husband received on a prior visit when he asked her to trim a tiny bit more off the sides to clean up the look. She caught an attitude, argued that she followed the reference photo, and flat out refused to help--despite the appointment normally taking 5 minutes out of a 30-minute booking. Michelle clearly does not value long-term customers or understand how to run a child-friendly business. Save your money and go somewhere where the owner actually cares about families. As a fellow small business owner, I know how vital customer service is. I always try to support local businesses, but Michelle's severe lack of professionalism and empathy means we will never be back.
