I left and bought one elsewhere. I have occasionally bought chemicals there since, and decided recently that I can't support this business because of the rudeness of this employee. I also saw, at last, that the same chemicals cost less than half on Amazon. I always prefer to support locally owned businesses, but will not go back to Genesis.

They cut NUMEROUS wires (to troubleshoot?) and fried a pump motor when they used a jumper from my 110v to the pump without any circuit protection. I told them to leave after it was obvious they were more confused than I. To top it off, the owner threatened me with collection action if I didn't pay for the damage they caused! If I could assign negative stars, I would have. Dealing with this company is a waste of time and money. Look elsewhere if you need a hot tub fixed.

Unsatisfactory. About two years ago my 13-year-old Cal Spa was malfunctioning and I called…read moreAlbuquerque Spa Repair. It cost about $1100, and took a few weeks, to replace the heating element and pump. I stopped talking at any length with the technician because he had a habit of lecturing in a condescending manner. The heating element has been fine, but the pump failed about four months after installation after vibrating loudly for some time. Because it was still under warranty, it was replaced, again after a few weeks, but the new one failed the same way after 18 months (out of warranty). After watching a couple of YouTube videos I learned that replacing the pump is not difficult, so decided to do it myself. I got the best brand pump available (Balboa, used by spa manufacturers, about $350), and some O-rings locally, and it went in fairly smoothly. I found that the pump was attached with two screws (should be four) and it was still using the original 15-year-old anti-vibration pad, which was old and hard, and I replaced. I do not intend to use Albuquerque Spa Repair again.

I was turned down by another business, that offered to "haul away" my "unrepairable" tub for free; Glen was willing to take the time-- wait for parts to ship, check repairs and face the challenge needed to work through the problems. He has old fashioned values and ethics, totally refreshing in this throw-away world. I recently called Glen because I am making aesthetic repairs on my spa and realized that I needed new insulation as well. Once again, he responded with intelligence and kindness and quoted me a reasonable price. I'm always surprised and relieved when I find this quality of service.
