I am writing this review on behalf of my mother, who is 92, and who hired Sonic Leak Detection to…read morecome to the house and address a leak. Sonic Leak Detection came to the house on two consecutive days. The first day was to detect a leak outside the house, and the second day they returned to repair the leak. The time required to find the leak on the first day was approximately 2 to 3 hours, and the charges were just over $400. They said they could repair the leak, and the cost would be an additional $3,600. They were hired to do the repair, assuming that it would be a major project to justify the $3600 cost. When they returned the next day, (there were two of them) they arrived at about 11:15 a.m. and were done by about 3 p.m.. Within this time, they left for lunch and bought an outdoor hydrant. (They charged $350 for a simple hydrant, for which they claimed to have no receipt.) They charged $3100 for labor, which was almost all done by one of them, while the other mostly talked. The actual labor outside the house was probably 2 to 2 1/2 hours, mostly done by the one person. So, something around $1,250 an hour. Finally, the job was not finished correctly. The attachments to the hydrant were made such that they were facing the wrong direction and would make the controls very difficult to read. The total charges for both the detection and the repairs were about $3,750. The neighbor next-door later said she had the exact same job done for about $1200. They claimed that their charges were so high because they are specialists. My mother paid their bills, mostly because she was intimidated by them, but felt that they were taking advantage because of her age and the fact that she lives in a relatively affluent part of Santa Fe. Sounds about right. So, I would say hire them only if you are willing to have people work for you who operate in this way. Obviously, we would leave zero stars if we could. Unfortunately, we will be pursuing this matter in small claims court.

We called them and Dennis came out and it turned out that a hose had come loose. He charged us $75 to put the hose on (about 2 minutes work). I noticed it still wasn't working correctly and examined it after he left. Turns out a few of the water sprinklers weren't working. He said he isn't responsible for this and would need to charge us another fee to get it working properly. Pretty rude. Also, what's with the service charge for houses within Santa Fe county? You've been warned!!

We were taken advantage of by this company, and would never recommend them…read more We were given an estimate for a leak, and a water heater valve replacement for over $1,200. The woman at the office told me they charge $110 an hour, and then I was quoted $135 an hour by the worker the day they came to the house. I know nothing about plumbing, but figured that for the estimated amount of over $1,200, it would take them all day. But no. They were at my house for 20 minutes. I was away from the house, but spoke to them when they got there, and before they left. They had my husband sign for the work, as he was the one at home. My husband is disabled and is not able to understand situations like this. I spoke to them on the phone and told them that for 20 minutes I would not pay $1,200, I would pay them for an hour, plus travel costs. I was told that if I had "set it up as a per hour job, I would've been charged per hour, but I had asked for an estimate beforehand, so that's just the way it is". I would have never signed for this had I been the one there. I had quotes from two other plumbers who charged $90 and $100 an hour. I paid 10 times that much. This is an extremely unethical company.

He painted my entire house, repaired drywall, and finished/painted the garage, not to mention laid epoxy on the floor, so it was quite a job. I will say that it took longer than I'd anticipated, starting at the end of 2018 and finally wrapping up in February 2020. There were even times that I thought Aaron had disappeared for good, but he had a lot going on in his personal life and still managed to come through. What I can also say is that he was friendly, offered plenty of helpful advice, and really went the extra mile on the work itself, such as adding sealant for free when the epoxy didn't look good. His prices were among the most reasonable, and he made every effort to fix the little things when the major tasks were finished. He was hired for additional work, such as repairing wall cracks or water damage to the ceiling, and made sure to finish those properly as well. Perhaps there are folks who would have completed the job more quickly, but Aaron went above and beyond without charging 1 1/2 or 2 times the amount like others were asking. He really endeavors to make his work a business relationship, not just a transaction, and I am glad to recommend him to others.
