Flashback Friday!!…read more Giving some love for the ville, aka V.V.... The popular city of the HD and IE's High Desert... Also a city that was home for many years growing up in San Bernardino County's still growing community. From Old town Victorville to all of it... This city of well over 100k in residence has a really cool history being home to Former home of the Dale Evans and Roy Rogers Museum, always home of the San Bernardino County fair, George Air Force Base fka Victorville Army Airfield and now the Southern California Logistics Airport - all used to film major films such as the Lethal Weapon, Contact, Space Cowboys, Ocean's Eleven, The Hulk, Jarhead, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift/3, Kill Bill Vol 2 and Tenet to name a few. Running along I-15 fwy you'd probably know it as a pitstop to Las Vegas, last city/big town before Barstow or Palmdale (depending on your direction of travel). Encompassed by other cities such as Apple Valley, Adelanto, Hesperia, Helendale/Silver Lakes, Phelan, Pinon Hills, El Mirage, Ore Grande and Lucerne Valley... Victorville is definitely the central city... with its own mall, major theater, popular restaurants, hotels, attractions (few, but some), schools, neighborhoods, bars, clubs and one of the most affordable community colleges in the US, which I'm also a graduate of, Victor Valley College. As years have gone a lot of new places have developed and previous or long standing ones haven't had as much as staying afloat. You're able to take the Greyhound, Las Vegas Shuttle(s) and Flixbus here, but aside from that driving is the best way to get to and from this HD city. I don't get up as much with a lot of my friends relocating with time to various other California cities and other states, but still make it up to see my dad, brothers, niece and nephews almost every Christmas. Love popping into Rustic Tavern or Ricky's Bar, both off Hesperia Rd for a holiday drink and seeing who's around. And you never know who you could run into as Rupaul's Drag Race alum Raven (David P.) is from here super fun person. It's very hot and dry and I didn't see a school for miles. Mostly a small town and small shops, catered to the Latin community. This town is definitely industrial and I don't judge the hard working people who live in this town. Just passing by.

We had a few ideas and she put together something that surpassed any ideas we had. Her details on the plants and flowers is incredible. Our boring wall behind our pool is now a focal point for the backyard. After the first mural, we brought her back several more times to add color and happiness to our home. Once again she surpassed any ideas we had and designed several more works of art. The final mural (for now) is an indoor corner of our living room wall. Her work is just gorgeous. She added very meaningful details. We would highly recommend Carissa for her creative brilliance.

She met me within my budget, did what she said she would do, and produced absolutely stunning artwork. The plate was very beautiful to look at with the vibrant colors of the vegetables in contrast with the main course and pasta but, flavor-wise, this meal was somewhat mid and just satisfactory. Perhaps the missing prosciutto could have contributed a needed flavor boost. Service was exemplary with a friendly staff. The dining room was comfortable. Plenty of parking in their lot.

I had the meat lover's lasagna. It was everything you want in lasagna-- piping hot, flavorful, cheesy, and comforting. My husband had roasted tomatoes and basil with feta over angel hair pasta. (It's normally served over gluten-free pasta, but the server actually suggested subbing another pasta.) The depth of flavor from the caramelization of the tomatoes was astounding. It's rare to find a dish that's both light AND complex, but this one managed it beautifully. Wonderful experience, would've happily paid more than we did.

Off the 15 fwy exit Ranchero Rd ( exit 140 ) the drive looked dry with a lot of sand dirt / not much green trees, some section sidewalk not yet developed. In due time more families will move in the area will help improve the city . I did some research on what to do in the city . To my surprise City of Hesperia has a zoo! Yeah who would have thought "Hesperia Zoo", Hesperia golf and country club , and a man made Hesperia Lake park . Camping is allowed, fishing , picknic tables and fire pit . .

City of Hesperia is one of the cities that you'll drive past on your way up on Fwy 15 coming from…read moreFontana to the high desert and even to Las Vegas if that's your final destination. It's one of the younger cities compared to Victorville and Apple Valley. What's here you ask? Well, there is a Target, Wal-Mart, Ross, Marshalls, Stater Brothers, Petco, Kahoots (pet store), In-N-Out, Jack in th Box, McDonald's, Starbucks, and more. As for attractions, to be honest, I haven't ventured out much if at all to explore much of them as most if not all of my adventures are down the hill. Hesperia is still a good city to live and visit if you're curious.
