Flashback Friday!!…read more Giving some love for the ville, aka V.V.... The popular city of the HD and IE's High Desert... Also a city that was home for many years growing up in San Bernardino County's still growing community. From Old town Victorville to all of it... This city of well over 100k in residence has a really cool history being home to Former home of the Dale Evans and Roy Rogers Museum, always home of the San Bernardino County fair, George Air Force Base fka Victorville Army Airfield and now the Southern California Logistics Airport - all used to film major films such as the Lethal Weapon, Contact, Space Cowboys, Ocean's Eleven, The Hulk, Jarhead, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift/3, Kill Bill Vol 2 and Tenet to name a few. Running along I-15 fwy you'd probably know it as a pitstop to Las Vegas, last city/big town before Barstow or Palmdale (depending on your direction of travel). Encompassed by other cities such as Apple Valley, Adelanto, Hesperia, Helendale/Silver Lakes, Phelan, Pinon Hills, El Mirage, Ore Grande and Lucerne Valley... Victorville is definitely the central city... with its own mall, major theater, popular restaurants, hotels, attractions (few, but some), schools, neighborhoods, bars, clubs and one of the most affordable community colleges in the US, which I'm also a graduate of, Victor Valley College. As years have gone a lot of new places have developed and previous or long standing ones haven't had as much as staying afloat. You're able to take the Greyhound, Las Vegas Shuttle(s) and Flixbus here, but aside from that driving is the best way to get to and from this HD city. I don't get up as much with a lot of my friends relocating with time to various other California cities and other states, but still make it up to see my dad, brothers, niece and nephews almost every Christmas. Love popping into Rustic Tavern or Ricky's Bar, both off Hesperia Rd for a holiday drink and seeing who's around. And you never know who you could run into as Rupaul's Drag Race alum Raven (David P.) is from here super fun person. Fun Fact: I had his dad and stepmom as teachers in high school... #SmallWorld #Classof03 From crazy stories to savory memories... First jobs, first loves and first driving experiences... This place will always be a part of me.

It's very hot and dry and I didn't see a school for miles. Mostly a small town and small shops, catered to the Latin community. This town is definitely industrial and I don't judge the hard working people who live in this town. Just passing by.

I love the asparagus soup, it really takes me back to childhood, it's so good and comforting. Every time I've been there Francisco has been my server, he is kind and I never feel rushed, he always gives us a great experience. I've tried several dishes but some of my favorites are the fettuccine Alfredo, manicotti, and cheese ravioli with a cream sauce. Tonight I had a dirty martini and it was on point, very good. Always a wonderful dining experience here.

I've had several menu items and they've all been very good. Asparagus soup is a good starter. Eggplant Parmesan is good, but I would like it a little more crispy. Others have ordered the Penne Alla Vodka (ordered al dente, and it was perfectly al dente). Cannelloni Grattanati is a flavorful, attractive dish. I've had the chicken with spinach & cream sauce and Chicken Cacciatore - both were good. I would order either again. The Lasagna Forne was very flavorful, but too salty for me. That's just the way Lasagna is no matter where you have it. This is a delightful local place for lunch or dinner!

We are new to the high desert, and are so happy to have found a good Italian restaurant up here…read more First thing that came to the table was bread and a balsamic vinegar/oil dip. Yum. My husband ordered the Smoke House Pasta and said he would choose that dish as his last meal! I ordered the Bruschetta Pizza. It was good but needed something. I also got the Antipasto Fantastico Salad... nice fresh crunchy lettuce is a plus (it was not the bagged lettuce)... just wished they chopped up the deli meats/cheese into smaller pieces. And we ended our date with the chocolate cannoli for desert. Highly recommend you order one of those! We will definitely be going back there and taking family & friends who come up to visit us. The staff were really nice and the place felt homey. Worth the wait time.

Golden crust. Cheese was balanced and not greasy. You could tell this wasn't made in a rush. It was made with pride. The Penne alla Vodka came in like a headliner. Sauce was creamy with just enough kick. Pasta had bite without being too firm. Easily one of the best takes on this dish I've had in the area. Italian Jalapeño Poppers threw me off in the best way. Spicy. Cheesy. Crunchy. Felt like Tony Soprano and a Tapatío bottle had a baby. Chicken Parm came through like a hero meal. Breaded right. Thick but juicy. Sauce and cheese ratio was tight. No sogginess. Just layered flavor. Packed up well and still tasted fresh after the drive home. That says a lot. Spot was packed when I walked in. Staff seemed busy but still managed to be polite. A couple looked slightly stressed but not rude. Just overwhelmed. Still got the order out timely. The place was clean. Floor was swept. Tables reset fast. And the bathroom? Clean enough for me to trust it with white sneakers on. It's giving... Scorsese would shoot here just for the garlic bread close-up.

The reviews were good but I was uncertain. It is a small place but omg so worth the time and money. The woman who helped us was so friendly and fast and helpful. The food was fresh and so good. We got the garlic knots with marinara sauce and that was so yummy, then we got the white pizza and added chicken and jalapeños and wow, it was better than expected. Also we got a small margherita pizza to try and it was perfection. Fresh flavorful tomatoes and basil and the dough was fresh and tasty. Oh and how could I forget the Sicilian fries. I could've eaten them all if I didn't know other things were on the way. We will definitely be back.

Anyway, this location is at Jess Ranch Marketplace in Apple Valley. I walked in with the intention to pick up one Hawaiian pizza. Good inside seating and limited outside seating. The outside looked like it hasn't been attended to for a very long time. Tables and chairs looked old. The ground was not swept. Just not the best appeal looking from the outside or inside. Anyway, the nice young man behind the counter greeted me right away. They weren't too busy at the time with just a handful of tables occupied. As I got closer to the counter, another staff member assisted me. She wasn't the most smiley and that's okay. Maybe she wasn't having her best day. I ended up ordering a medium half Hawaiian and half Margherita pizza. Pizza looked amazing! Crust was lightly burnt and bread was soft. Unfortunately, the taste of the pizza totally missed the mark. Pizza sauce was just plain old tomato sauce. No seasoning whatsoever. If that's their signature sauce, then it's not my kind of pie. Hence, 3 stars!

My eldest daughter got the Ravioli Cabonara with bottomless salad. My youngest daugther got the Chicken Alfredo with bottomless soup... she loves the Zuppa Toscana, too! Our go-to appetizer is the Calamari which we also got. Good portions of lightly fried squid with two great tasting sauces... thousand island and marinara. Just delicious. Always a keeper! Our overall meal was good and service was amazing, but just one small observation. Bottomless garlic breadsticks are not the same as before. Where's the garlic and oil?
