We had about 4 other landscape companies in the area come out first to give us an estimate on our project (Madrone, Pacific Outdoor, Purlieu, Atkinson) and a few of them actually wanted a pricey "design fee" before they would even give us a full/complete estimate. We already knew the basic idea of our design that we wanted, and so an extra design fee did not make any sense for our project. We ended up choosing True Landscape because their pricing was the most reasonable out of the group! Also, their representative George, seemed really committed to the project. He took measurements when he arrived, talked through a design plan, gave us a location to check out some of the landscape products to choose from, and even followed up the next day with some samples. George was also really easy to work with and scheduled/brought out the crew fairly quickly and the project only took about a week! In terms of the redesign, True Landscape installed new pavers, extended out our grass area, set up the drip water system, built a new planter box, and added large pavers and nice rocks around the sides. We are really happy with how it all turned out and our yard looks much more modern now : ). Carmen was always in communication with me either by phone or text, even if he was delayed in getting back to me, I always heard from him. If Carmen was delayed in getting back to me, he would apologize for the delay. Based on my experience with Carmen he as always been about customer service. I began using Larry back in 2006. We needed a few things after moving into our home in SLO: a…read moreretaining wall, in the back yard, a dry creek from the side of that retaining wall, and a drain around the house to keep rain from ever flooding the house, and carrying it to the front yard. He put in drain covers over this drain at all the downspouts around the house. By 2015 we asked him to put pavers in place of our driveway and widen it, and use pavers to replace the sidewalk from the driveway into the house. A year later we had him remove the grass in front and he carried the dry creek out from the back yard to the front ending with that drain outlet at the deeper end of that.He did much of the planting in front then too. in 2017 I discovered a state offer to increase rain storage and he helped us with our 660 gallon overflow tank. In 2020, I asked him to deepen the dry creek in front to a swale which would allow extra rainwater not able to be caught and held in any of my tanks, into the swale and be allowed to soak into the ground water from the outlet of the 2006 installed drain. In 2022, when we had something crazy like 8" of rain in one day, and it flooded into the house, he installed a new drain cover as needed and tied it into that original 2006 drain. See the pattern? He can adapt his original work as the owners live on the property and their designs, needs and desires adapt, and change over time. It need not be just a one time job, it can be a relationship which improves the property over the years. I have always felt I received excellent Value for his work, and that of this employees.
