Houston has the second most parks and recreation acreage of any large metro area with ~ 76,000…read moreacres! Over the last 20 years the maintenance & investment has improved dramatically including public / private work developing the Spring Creek Trail corridor which winds for ~ 30 miles from Montgomery County through Harris County including this great nature park near Bush Intercontinenetal Airport. This Jesse H Jones offers horsetrails, creek beaches, nature trails, play areas for kids, picnic areas, biking areas and dog friendly. This is a great four season park! Best in cooler months but the creek is great when it gets hot.

On the day I came here for my bike ride, they had Nature Fest and we were greeted by volunteers who told us where to park and what to expect. They have clean bathrooms and it feels very safe. I was there for my bike ride group so I wasn't planning on any of that but it turned out to be a nice way to end the ride. Before the ride, I was greeted by some awesome people from the Kingwood Bicycles who fixed an issue I was having with my bike that I couldn't figure out and later even did me a solid by adjusting my gears and tightening up my wheel! Amazing people. As far as the bike path goes, it is probably the best I've seen. There is lots of tree cover and has high quality pavement. there are nice twists and turns and lots of scenery. The path is shared between hikers, riders, and horses and everybody seemed to know the assignment of slower traffic staying on the right. If go ride long enough, heading west, you'll hit Pundt Park that has a bathroom and water. It's a nice break point. I went about 11 miles out but the path seemed to go further. The only thing to not like about this path is you have to double back but it's still great.

I honestly have nothing negative to say about this park. Its always clean, no matter what time I come its clean!! I noticed they have a small vented in the middle of the park where folks can have gatherings and such occasions ... This is a pretty big park might I say... I believe they play soccer there daily. There is a playground for the kids. And Abigail stretch jogging area for folks to exercise. My first stopping ground "greenspoint"... I go back from time to take a walk when I'm in the area..

(Que VH1 theme) Best park ever!…read more So I found out this park is just north of Greenspoint and it is the bomb diggety! I has a really nice sand volleyball court that gets hoping after 5:30. There are lots of nice big trees to provide shade and the grass is sticker free. It's quite picturesque on it's own, well taken care of, clean, and most things are in good condition. Sure you'll get your occassional bum or two hanging out in close quarters, and yes the guy hanging around the pavillion did get arrested when I was there on Wednesday, but hey, that just means it's well patrolled and as long as you are minding your own business and with a couple other people, this place is great! I haven't been through much of the other parts of the park but I can spot a large water "park" area with the water that shoots out of the ground and there is a running trail that would be vicious to attempt any earlier than about 7:00 during this time of year. This park really gets going around 6:00 pm, people even bring out lawn chairs to watch the volleyball action. That does mean parking can be a bit hecktic but there is a Fudruckers Northwest of the park that is safer to park at. I guess I give it four stars for the safety factor, but that can be attributed to the overall area that you are in. I had flashbacks to DARE when I had to shag the ball a couple times and run barefoot through the grass - I was pretty sure I had and elevated chance of getting a used drug needle in my foot. But no worries, all is well :) This park is a diamond in the rough for sure!
