If I were the designer, I might have picked more paths just from a liability perspective? Nice water fixtures in the park. It was pretty quiet when i was there on the weekend morning. I did see some folks tending to the landscaping and cleaning while I was there, so I'm happy it's well maintained. Visited the park for the July 4th festivities. Figured it would be busy so we came early. Streets…read moresurrounding the park were closed and utilized for entry security check points, food trucks, picnic tables with umbrellas, potty areas and general walkways for the expected crowds. The park itself is nice but small. A nice patch of green inside the city center. It's on a sloped hillside so there are steps to navigate. There is a sloped path on one side to roll up a stroller or wheelchair. Fountain water feature had kids playing in it. Grassy area for a blanket to sit and relax. Today there were two stages setup for the live music. Great sounding sound system and plenty of room to get up and dance. A little warm today so they had large portable fans with water misters strategically placed did what they could to cool some visitors. Quite a few food trucks and some food vendors in the park plaza as well. Great selection of hot foods. Since we arrived early there weren't too many people yet so no lines to wait for food. We had to leave early so we had to miss the July 4th drone show. I assume it was fantastic given the festive ambiance and clear skies.

There's two main parking structure next to it but street parking and public lots are available. Inside you have a small grocery store. Limited in things but they do carry a good selection of produce and Asian items. Then there's all the fun and amazing desserts shops. Anything Asian pastries they should have. The smell of fresh baked items as you're walking by. There's a good amount of ramen and sushi spot with the revolving sushi maybe the most popular at the beginning of the strip. Theres always a line so get there early to put your name down. You have all the fun Asian stores with anime, fun apparel and trinkets. Asian anime lover heaven. The day we stopped by for lunch it was packed. The village was crowded as well as all the parking structure was full. We were walking along the outside of the village as it was too crowded looking for someplace to eat. There was a crowd following each other which I asked someone what was going on and it happened to be a Pokémon battle. Let me say, the place was packed that we thought there was some kind of convention or a tour has happening. It literally brought out so many people. Also I love the fashion there. Kids and adults showing their amazing fashion skills with anime related clothing. The fashion show happening as you're just sitting there on the stoop. The amazing fashion scene where it's all individuality insisted of judgment. Little Tokyo is a hidden spot in downtown that you should check out. It's not big so you could get through it pretty quickly. The restaurant, shops, boutiques, stores are all cute and worth a wander through. LA does have its nice area. Heads up, if it's your first time here. A couple blocks from here is the sketchy area of skid row. Tents and homelessness so just heads up so you're not shocked and freaking out.

However, the monument on top of the hill has triangle shaped plaques naming Burbank's sister cities, so in a way the name still works. The park itself is tiny, basically a small grassy delta at a busy intersection. Its crowning point is a hill with a statue on top of Burbank's namesake, David Burbank, who was a dentist and real estate investor. The statue is posed in a way that makes it look like he's overseeing the city he built, but most likely he never imagined what it would become since he died in 1895 and Burbank didn't become "The Media Capital of the World" until around the early 1900's. The pillar on which he and the American flag sits is carved with images recognizing important figures and eras in Burbank, like Amelia Earhart, who once lived and flew here, and the railroad and film industries that helped the city grow. At the base, including the aforementioned plaques for the sister cities, is a time capsule set to be opened in 2060. For such a small park and monument, it tries to encapsulate as much of the city's history as it can. I actually ended up staying at this park for a couple of hours while waiting for my car to be fixed since the surrounding area is full of tire stores as well as restaurants. Instead of waiting in a crowded lobby full of impatient people wanting their car back, I sat on the grass, admired the trees in full bloom, most of whose flowers had fallen and carpeted the grass, and I also got to enjoy the view of the mountains which the statue also seemed to be doing. Parking is free on the main road and side streets, or if you're like me your car is being held hostage by the tire store. If you live in Burbank, are just in the area, a history buff, or just looking for something to do, this is a nice quick stop.

This place is very popular, as evidenced by the many visitors, both native Californians and those from many countries. All-day parking is available for a flat rate of $18.00 in the huge outdoor parking lot at the start of the north end of the Venice Boardwalk. My family and friends are planning numerous visits here in the next several weeks.

There is a lot of different people here and it's a very lively beach. There's a lot of events to look at and watch for entertainment also. I was pretty stoked watching the Hoop Bus event and got to sit on the grass and watch some local basketball play between different teams. There was a breeze here even though it was a hot summer day so that was nice, but if you ever need some hats or sunglasses or even some shirts/sweaters memorabilia there's plenty of local souvenir shops along the pathway. You can see muscle beach, have desserts, and shop. Some people here also can approach you, but be aware of people handing you their CDs because once you accept it, they may ask for $5!!! Due to that, I do feel bad because like I mentioned, there are tourists here that just want to have a good time and not be approached by a stranger for monetary payments!!! You will also smell different scents of smoke in the air, so be aware of that too. I think to always just be cautious in general in large public areas. If there's rowdy people, don't stop and watch someone yelling at another person. The public bathrooms here are about as busy as you'd expect. My favorite area is when you reach the quiet zones in neighborhoods... there you can just relax and take in the nature of the beach beside the housing complexes.
