She was extremely helpful, polite, and understanding of my concerns. She helped with booking me an appointment for the same day for the Electro-Acupuncture.It is important to note that the **ONLY** reason I booked this appointment instead of waiting two days to see a highly recommended, trusted, and experienced Acupuncturist & Massage Therapist who is only a 45 minute drive away and literally HALF THE PRICE, was due to this service being offered. Upon arriving Suzi and I spoke again about the Electro-Acupuncture and how excited I was for this service. We spoke on my prior electrotherapy from when I fractured my back and the benefits of that therapy, to how this Electro-Acupuncture will be beneficial as well. I met with Dr. Janelle* who took notes on my problem areas, and then proceeded to start treatment which I was laying face down on the massage table. Not sure if it is normal practice for acupuncture, but I would expect the locations of needle entry to be cleaned or sterilized with at the minimum an alcohol wipe prior to sticking me with needles, which that was not done. The massage therapist, I believe Viera, was very polite and professional as well, she performed cupping too. After the service was completed I met with Suzi at the reception desk to check out and Suzi had asked Dr. Janelle* about the Electro-Acupuncture, to which she responded we did not do today. And that the only difference was the strength of results...I confirmed the total would still be $165 even though I did not receive the service I requested, to which the response was yes. The doctor was waiting to go with her purse while I was checking out, and stated that the only difference is the strength of results, it would have been much stronger. Frustrated, I pay. At no point was there any type of alleviation of misunderstanding on the type of treatment, no type of slight discount for inconvenience, literally nothing. I leave and immediately call my boyfriend and explained the situation. He agreed with me on my feelings towards this. Again, the ONLY reason I did not wait TWO DAYS, for a HALF PRICED SERVICE (apples to apples) was due to the Electro part, that I did not receive. It is extremely unfortunate as I and my partner live maybe 3 minutes away, are willing and wanting to do treatments and benefit our health, and I will never go back, nor refer anyone to go here. At this point I am not even going to update about results, if any. I am very bothered about spending this much money for nothing. Feeling ripped off. *Update: Dr. Janelle * Response to owner: Thank you for your response. I did clarify the provider's name on Google and apologize that this correction was not reflected here as well. I appreciate you providing that clarification. Regarding the treatment, Dr. Janelle informed me that electrotherapy had not been used only after the session had concluded--this was not communicated to me beforehand, nor was your receptionist aware until the session concluded as well while we were together. Therefore, I did not have the opportunity to consent to or refuse the recommended treatment in advance, as suggested. As for the follow-up, I do not feel obligated to respond to calls made months after the initial posting. Your team had ample time to reach out and address the matter in a timely manner. While the only correction needed in my original review was the provider's name, I found several inaccuracies in your response that reflect a broader issue of accountability. I had hoped this would have been handled with more professionalism and transparency. Thank you, Mrs. Perkins, for your delayed response.

She would turn my head and hold it there for 20 seconds, which I did not feel like that did anything. I felt like I was getting a massage from someone who's never done a massage before. They have the friendliest staff complimenting a clean and serene establishment, I have no complaints. I am not sure if they are affiliated in any way, but this location vs the St Pete location on 4th street is way cleaner and more updated. The room was cozy and the table had a heating option!! completely new tech to me, which was a great add on to my visit. The two ladies at the front desk were very accommodating and my massage therapist, Kashi, was the best therapist I've had so far at Essentials! Entering the room, we briefly spoke about the areas where I felt a lot of tension so he can focus on those first then move on to the rest of the full body massage. Got the 50-min deep tissue- (tho it's a bit more pricey than their relaxation massage, it's totally worth the extra $$.) I will definitely be returning and scheduling my next appointment soon. Great Essentials location and I would definitely recommend booking Kashi for your next massage!

Over the last few years I…read morehave noticed some discoloration on my forehead and now a little around my eyes which I have just been covering with makeup. Online scheduling was easy, they have a website and then for what I wanted a phone number to text for scheduling availability. Marie messaged me right away with upcoming options and once confirmed I received an email confirmation. Leading up to my appointment I also got reminders. Walking in their salon it is so beautifully and peacefully decorated. Very relaxing. In my room we went over the procedure and things that she does and how she personally likes to work as well as that she has products that she can recommend but does not like to push anything upon her clients but that she will review what she uses. From looking at my face she could tell my main concern which of course I cannot think of the name but starts with a M and she reviewed that there are procedures she does that she has seen the best results if I choose to continue to come but that I also must take additional steps to protect my skin moving forward. With my dark skin I always was the "where is the oil?" type and had little concern for SPF. Well at 40... it is starting to show. Not that makeup cannot cover it but I am more into the aging gracefully part of my life now so don't want an inch thick of foundation on or will dye my hair. After a few moments to get comfortable, she returned to start and I was completely relaxed. She mentioned she would remain silent unless I wanted to talk which we did off and on and I did learn that this is a very family oriented business, which I love. I had mentioned that I had recently had shoulder surgery so she ensured it was okay to touch there and she could tell that specific muscles were tight and to ensure my physical therapists were working them and even offered information for her chiropractor that she knew dealt with it of I was interested. I thought was very generous and showed she had great concern for her clients. I didn't take the information right away but did reach out today for it and she quickly responded. Her husband does massage therapy+ (sorry I don't want to say the wrong service) and I actually had questions for things Ben was specifically looking for. She said the sessions are 100% catered to what the client needs and isn't the typical massage every part for a little while vs focusing in on the troubled areas. I love that. I really can't say enough about my experience. Marie was patient and took as long as I need to review everything. One thing specifically that stood out for me was during our discussions and time it became apparent to her that what I may have been looking for was a little stronger of a facial peel so she asked me if I was okay with the next level. To some it is too strong as the base is jalapeno and I told her to let's go for it. She put a little on to test and I was good but she also gave me a face fan if I needed it. I didn't but we joked that I could smell it and just make me think that I drooled on myself while eating chips and salsa. LOL. Afterwards I took myself out to lunch where I sat alone just enjoying the relaxation and the bartender told me that the gentleman across the way bought me a drink. I went over to say thank you for his kindness and funny enough, he said you look like you are glowing and deserved it. What better review can ya get with zero makeup on and just having a facial peel? Thank you so much Marie!!

I will go ahead and tell you that I am now scheduled for 3 additional sessions. Every last second of this process from purchasing the Groupon (which I had a discount code for ..YAY) to booking ONLINE to arriving and the massage itself....every last second was easy and enjoyable. I booked my massage as soon as I ordered the Groupon (he books out about 2 weeks or so in advance... Book now!). The only difficult part was waiting until my scheduled date and time. When I arrived, Franco asked me about the Groupon. I showed it to him and he asked me to swipe to mark it used. That was it. So easy. He never mentioned the Groupon again and definitely gave a quality massage. He asked if I had ever done reflexology before. When I said no, he explained everything to me. He showed me where all of the points were on my feet and told me what may occur as he worked (you may feel it in those spots of your body, you may not). I told him I can be ticklish at times and explained my injuries (which includes a metal plate and screws at my right ankle). NONE of that was an issue the entire massage. I am not sure if it is because of the extra care he took or what. The massage was amazing. I never wanted it to end. For the record, I personally only felt it in my feet (that happens with some people). I did however feel that certain spots were tight. When he explained where it was, it made sense. Those were body areas that were bothering me (for instance, I had an upset stomach. My allergies/ sinuses were flared up. He knew this from my feet.) Afterwards, I knew I wanted more. He told me there was a special if I was interested and I could let them know. There was no pressure from him to buy more or return. I asked if I could do it right then. I was able to pay for it on Venmo (there were other options) and it was easy. I then went home and booked my next 3 reflexology massages. As I was driving home, I noticed that I felt extremely relaxed in my entire body. My neck and shoulders in particular. These are a problem area for me. I feel incredible! I HIGHLY recommend Franco at Peace of Mind and the foot reflexology massages. I would be interested in trying some of their other services too.

I figured I'd call back the following day and speak with the manager, Jen, as it wasn't anything urgent. I called first thing in the morning and Jen answered. Question number one was about the waitlist. I submitted a request to be put on a waitlist through their website on 4/23/2026 for a two-hour massage on 4/25/2026 but, apparently, it wasn't showing up on their end (maybe an issue with their website?). When she was about to add me to the waitlist, she told me they had a 90-minute opening. I went ahead and accepted that. On to issue number two regarding the Refer a Friend offering on their website. This is where the unprofessionalism and disrespectfulness began. I have never been to Essentials, so my wife was going to refer me to take advantage of their offering (it's only a $5 credit to each of us). Unfortunately, their website refused to allow her to login (another reason to question whether there's an issue with their website - you'll understand more in a minute). I began trying to ask Jen if she was aware of any issues with their website sending password resets to Gmail accounts. However, as I was saying "are you aware of any issues..." she immediately cut me off, seemingly made an assumption of what I was about to ask, and began telling me they weren't having any website issues. Once she finished speaking, I explained I wasn't asking if their website was having issues, that I was actually trying to ask if she was aware of any issues with password resets going specifically to Gmail accounts (maybe it's a Google thing - in which case we could offer to use a different email provider to complete the process). She said she wasn't aware of any issues like that. Then, I began telling her I believe my wife had a profile for their website but we weren't able to login to it and the password reset requests were not coming to my wife's email (nor were they showing up in the spam folder - here's where I'm really beginning to question issues with their website). Once again, as soon as the word "wife" came out of my mouth, she was quick to cut me off and make an assumption, again. She began telling me that my wife wouldn't be able to refer me since she had never been there before. My wife had been there before. I believe she may have been confused because of the profile issue on their website (maybe thinking my wife was trying to create a profile as a first-time customer), which is ok. Some confusion like that isn't a big deal. What's not ok is the constant assumptions and cutting people off. I think somewhere in there she cut me off one more time, too. After she cut me off the last time, I let her finish talking and asked her to cancel my appointment for the following day, that she'd cut me off numerous times and that I'd pass on their service. She had the audacity to respond by saying she wouldn't want my service if I was going to talk to her like that anyway. I had to check my calendar to see if it was still 4/1 because that was hilarious. I don't know if it was coffee or what (it was about 9:15 AM), but she just needed to slow down, take a breath, and let the customer finish speaking. It would've made the conversation go so much smoother and she wouldn't have come off so rude and disrespectful.
