As I was researching about "egg freezing" and different places to do it in NYC, I started to get intimidated reading some of the reviews on the big places like RMA, and just intimidated by all the information online in general. After finding Spring, it felt a bit more comfortable, so I made an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Klatzky. After the initial consult with Dr. Klatzky and the Spring team, I felt very educated on what I needed to do and how it was going to work. Long story short, I ended up proceeding with the egg freezing process for one cycle and I can't say enough about what an amazing experience I had here. The team is super communicative via their messaging app, which is super helpful in the process to have. I always felt supported and cared for by their team. Clarity on pricing was also great, no sneaky fees etc. Lastly, their office is super nice and comfortable. I had a very poor experience at Spring, and it's my biggest regret that I didn't go to NYU or Cornell like I was advised by many peers who have done egg freezing before. I committed to Spring for a specific doctor, only to discover on my own about 10 days into my process that the doctor I had chosen was actually on vacation (and it was very unclear who was looking after my care). My results were average to below average (the doctor himself described the results as "ok"), and it frustrates me that I'll have to do this again (to put my body through this again AND self pay again) vs doing this once with a doctor that would've monitored my care more closely. Please do NOT assume a smaller practice like Spring will treat you better - in fact, Spring's doctors rotate who is on call even every weekend, so there's no guarantee that your doctor will see you or even do your procedure. My communications from Spring have also been hilariously robotic, almost as if they want to reiterate that they see patients as numbers, not people (details below). In retrospect, the stability of an experienced institution like NYU/Cornell would've been a much better choice. It also would've been substantially cheaper (even if your insurance doesn't cover fertility/egg freezing, lots of related aspects like ultrasounds, blood work, etc might). I deeply deeply regret this decision and am sharing this experience so others can make an informed decision rather than a rash one like I did. // Additional detail: - I discovered the doctor I had chosen was on vacation only when I was about 10 days into the process - something that was never disclosed to me when I committed to Spring. I discovered this only from overhearing conversations between nurses, which then made sense why new people (nurses, doctors, admin) were seeing or contacting me every time with new and conflicting information at every turn. I have strong reason to believe my treatment wasn't taken as seriously and consistently as it should've, which likely created results that were (in my doctor's own words) only "ok." - When I brought this up as a concern to the Spring team on day 10, the situation was made much worse by their staff at every step. At first, I gave benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake. However now, the defensiveness and absurdity of the responses I've gotten make me think this was an active effort to conceal this from me. Some examples: a) A nurse who was completely uninformed robotically told me that I was told about the doctor's vacation at a meeting that I never even went to and directed me to a contract I had signed that had nothing to do with my concern. b) Another admin on their team called me, suggesting that I cancel my process. I was on *DAY 10* -- I had spent THOUSANDS of dollars on medications and had been injecting myself for 10 days. I was shocked that they proposed this as a serious suggestion, signaling just how out of touch and unsympathetic they are. c) The doctor himself called me from vacation and made me feel like crap. He kept emphasizing how I was taking time away from his "wife and kids" on his vacation because of my call (which I didn't even ask for). Ironically. this is literally exactly why I found it problematic the vacation wasn't disclosed. I didn't want to be in a situation where I was choosing between my health and imposing on someone's vacation, yet now, I was made to feel guilty about it even though it was a situation I had no choice in (and would've opted out of, had I known). read more

Dr Klatsky and the entire team at Spring have been nothing short of amazing. I'm so impressed with their kind and compassionate approach that was tailored to my individual needs. I never felt like l like I was just another patient churning through the medical system, bouncing between on-call doctors, but rather part of a supportive, consistent fertility community. The office is bright, clean, inviting, and modern. They were always prompt with my appointments, in fact, I think I waited *at most* 2-3 minutes before a nurse/doctor was ready to see me. Communication was done through a portal/app with my personal care team reaching out individually, as well. They took the time to answer questions and fully prepared me with information at each step of the journey. Perhaps most importantly, their treatment led to my desired results :) Before starting this process I was apprehensive, scared and had no idea what to expect. What I came to learn was Spring's approach is centered on so much more than just the medical process. Having undergone many rounds, I have also had contact with many other medical providers at Spring, with great experiences every time. As is to be expected in such a personal and emotionally draining procedure, there have been moments of profound frustration (due to the process, my body and expectations in general) - and I always felt heard, addressed and got the care I needed. I feel a profound peace of mind having paused my 'biological clock' as much as possible. Me and my husband get to make family planning decisions based on our wants, not our needs. AVOID AT ALL COST. I couldn't speak to other doctors at Spring Fertility, but at least my doctor, all she cares about is how to make the most money from you. As to the result of the treatment, that's your problem. I am a 37 yo seeking embryo freezing service. I shopped around a lot before choosing Spring. I chose Spring Fertility because 1) their service, you will always see your doctor for your monitoring visits (which is not the case for most places); 2) the doctor's no nonsense style. How naive and wrong I was. I am deeply traumatized from this experience both mentally and physically. So I wanted to share my experience here so other people can choose more wisely. My amh is on the lower range of the normal side and all hormones are normal, and I have 12 follicles. In the end, I was only able to get one mature egg. A few notable things: 1. She scheduled the 1st appointment on Day 6!! of the treatment. Most of the Dr. would ask you to come in at least every other day in the beginning and everyday later to monitor. On my day 8 monitor visit, I asked her if I should come in on Day 10 for my follow up monitoring visit, she did not willingly agree. On my day 6 monitor visit, she said only half of the follicles react to the medicine, so I should prepare for only have 6 eggs retrieved. I asked her why is that, she attributed it to my age, amh being too low and my body doesn't respond. I bursted into tear the second I stepped out of the room. 2. She didn't test the hormone for ovulation until my Day 8. If she had done it earlier, she would have started the medicine to suppress the ovulation earlier. On day 8, there were only four follicles growing. 3. The thing I couldn't get over the most, is on Day 10, which was supposed to be the day for the trigger shot, but the lab showed I was already starting to ovulate. If she has any ethics and any sympathy for her patients, she should have called off the cycle. Instead, she asked me to skip the trigger shot and went ahead with the retrieval procedure the next day knowing the results won't be good (because the retrieval is where most of the money lies) . Without the trigger shot, only one out of three eggs was mature. Today is the 4th day since the retrieval procedure, I am still getting goosebumps from the pain from the procedure, which shouldn't be the case. I cried multiple times everyday for the past few day, feeling like I was been raped. If you read until here and still want to proceed with Spring Fertility, some suggestions: 1. It is your body and your money. Call off anytime if you feel anything doesn't smell right. Both me and my husband weren't happy with her condescending tone after Day 6 visit and not happy about the progress, but we felt like we were already halfway there and just wanted to power it through given all the time and effort we put it through. We should have called it off, the time and effort are sunk costs and is nothing compared with the damage mentally and physically I have to endure now. I was literally in tears when I was pushed to the operation room. 2. Don't let her gaslight you. She is the doctor here, if anything goes wrong, it is not your fault. Our body reacts differently to the medicine, the doctor should know better to guide you through the process instead of blaming you for her incompetence. Monitor closely. The plan works for 80% of the patients doesn't mean it will work for you. At the end of day, you need to endure all the cost if anything fails, so you need to be on top of everything. 3. Don't let them know if you have the expectation of a second cycle. They don't have motivation to achieve the best result if they know you may want to come back if the 1st cycle doesn't work well. I can not recommend Spring enough. My husband and I worked with Dr Klatsky and he was amazing in helping us to achieve our family dreams. I just had my 2nd child 6 weeks ago thanks to Spring and Dr Klatsky's commitment and diligence in finally getting it right. I had to go through many ups and downs and it was a very emotional journey but I always felt better after speaking to him. I came to Spring after having a bad experience at a larger fertility clinic and it made such a difference in my results and my mentality. My experience with Spring was top notch. I worked with Dr. Fischer primarily and also had the opportunity to interact with other doctors over appointments. From the very first consultation, I felt welcomed and listened to by the entire staff. Dr. Fischer took time to understand my health history, my motivation and goals, to answer my questions and be really transparent from that initial meeting. When we got to beginning the process, it is certainly a commitment over those two or so weeks as you have to go into the office rather frequently but there was a surprising amount of flexibility to get scheduled, I was always seen on time if not early and they were really efficient in getting me in and out. The facilities are super clean with snacks, coffee, tea available. The folks at reception knew who I was after the first appointment so every time I walked in to follow they welcomed me by name and just checked me in without me needing to do literally anything else. Ordering medications and understanding my meds was super simple with the help of Maggie and the team. Connecting with the financial team was helpful to understand the payment process and expectations. I even connected with the anesthesiologist twice prior to the retrieval to be able to address what will work best for my instance. The retrieval itself was straightforward. I was not under anesthesia and the entire team in the room with me and leading up to it made sure I felt safe, secure and supported and I even got to pick music to listen to during it. I had such a great experience with Dr. Yoder, my patient navigator Meghan and nurse Julia. Everyone was so helpful and kind during the whole egg freezing process. I decided to freeze my eggs because I want kids but not ready yet and Dr. Yoder explained my options and the process and I felt comfortable to move forward with the it. She never made me feel too old or like it wasn't worth it. The whole process took 14 days from first injection to the retrieval and it was fairly simple (all things considering). I was a bit sad that I had my retrieval over the weekend so I wouldn't have Dr. Yoder for the procedure but Dr. Fischer stepped in and was incredibly warm and kind. They explained what to expect after the procedure, the nurse called me that day with my egg count and the following day to check up on me and Dr. Yoder called a few days later for a final consult.
