I'm honestly still at a loss for words three days later. After reading 300+ glowing reviews across…read moremultiple platforms, I never expected to have such a disappointing experience. To be fair, I made a mistake and thought my appointment was at 9:30 when it was actually at 9:00. When Cheron called me at 9:10 I immediately apologized and even offered twice to reschedule if that was easier. Instead she just asked for my ETA in an irritated tone and said she'd see me soon. From the minute I got there the whole appointment felt tense. I asked for a simple trim, some face framing pieces, and something low maintenance since I don't spend a lot of time styling my hair. It didn't feel like a difficult request but I felt like my preferences were an inconvenience. Even the shampoo was so rough it was uncomfortable instead of relaxing. The haircut itself turned out nice but what really shocked me was the finish. I paid $150 and expected at least a basic styling. Instead, my hair was blow dried with her fingers... no round brush, no comb, no straightener, no curls. Nothing. I genuinely couldn't believe that was the finished result. I'm happy I ended up with a decent haircut but the overall experience felt uncomfortable from start to finish and nowhere near the level of service I expected.

My hair color was a train wreck, and I really wanted to go out for my birthday that night feeling confident with a new, bold look. I am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED to say that Master Stylist Vivian, Lily, Anthony and Danielle all made my dream a reality. The photos show the absolutely CRAZY transformation of my hair under these skilled stylists. Instead of wanting to put a bag over my head, I am over the moon when I look in a mirror now. Vivian has been doing hair since the 1980s, and she is truly a GENIUS. She was careful, ensuring that the bleach did not fry my hair, and she had the best ideas. It was a long process, of course, but worth all of the hours in her chair. If you need a hair miracle or a color correction like I did, I HIGHLY recommend Vivian and her team at Salon Arcaro without any hesitation. She KNOWS her trade, and she's TRULY a Master of hair ‼

After the wash, it was discovered they only had one of us down for the massage. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal but the lady that was working with me was so rude about it clearly annoyed. Their website advertises for the additional money you would get a 10 minute massage... it was less than 3 and I would not call it a massage. Add on the fact that I was pissed made it worse. The young lady that worked with my daughter was amazing and even apologized for the other ladies rudeness. She was the only reason I left a tip The only reason I'm giving two stars The more I think about it I can't believe I agreed to pay for the additional massage. grrrrrrrr So disappointed!!!!

I've gone there for 5+ years and never a bad experience. I'm not sure why I didn't write a rave review for Salon de la Vie before but I know why I am now. Another client told me about an outrageous customer who insulted the staff with totally disrespectful language in front of other customers then posted to Yelp. Hair can be emotional but so is making your livelihood by building an amazing business through positive word of mouth. This one 2nd hand review speaks to service that is the opposite of all that I have seen from Angie or the team. IF Angie were ever slightly rude, it must have taken a ton of abuse to provoke it. I'm not sure why someone would go somewhere they thought was overpriced to get a haircut they did not like 3x, before losing one's cool on the fourth. The bathroom definitely needed some attention. The trash needed to be emptied and the entire space could have used a good cleaning. I understand that at the end of a busy day that may be the last thing anyone wants to tackle, but cleanliness still makes a big difference in the overall experience. The staff also felt pretty neutral. At many Madison Reed locations, I'm greeted warmly the second I walk through the door and immediately feel welcomed. I just didn't get that feeling here. The stylist doing my hair seemed a little rushed, and while I was processing, I stepped next door to grab dinner. When I returned, I learned she had an emergency and had to leave quickly, which I completely understand, but overall the experience still felt disconnected. Every Madison Reed location is different, and I've had some really wonderful experiences at others. This one just didn't have that warm, welcoming feeling I normally associate with the brand. For me, it was probably a one-and-done location. If I'm back in the area, I'd likely try a different Madison Reed.
