Love this park. Plenty of open space for the dogs to run around. a water fountain for the dogs to get fresh water from. Sadly half of the dark park is closed for renovation until next year though.

Nice spot. HUGE open space but not much shade unfortunately. Tons of parking with the adjacent park. Good spot to walk your pups (on leash) too. Dog park has a separate section for smaller dogs. Still a ton of room in the main area for dogs of all sizes and energy levels. Huge construction drainage pipes. Peep the attached videos to see what I mean. Tables to sit on. Benches. Not much shade unfortunately but some small trees and an awning. Some rocks but mostly dirt and gravel. In the adjacent fenced in area you have some trees and shade. Large area to run around with the pups. Mini lake for the dogs to swim or wade in when it's hot. Rad place. Unfortunately I don't live close but next daytime trip to Ft. Collins I'll definitely bring the dog.

My little chihuahua enjoying him self.

This dog park is great, honestly, its the best one i've ever been to, i'm pretty sure my chihuahua agrees. Its super big, which is nice for my little guy because he likes going to the dog park but isn't such a social dog as a 'loves to explore off his leash' dog. Even though he's tiny hes pretty alpha which is good cause sometimes people ignore there big dogs and he has to assert him self to keep him self from getting humped or harassed. However this isn't an issue with this dog park, its more just part of owning a toy sized dog. Which does lead me to one of the two issues at this park. Most people are really good about keeping an eye on their dog however some people will let there large puppies or sometimes 'overly friendly' dogs run wild. Once i had a dog run up and start trying to mark me, i dodged most of it but some got on my shoe, which was annoying, a simple 'no' from the owner could have prevented that. The other problem with this park is people aren't as diligent about picking up their puppy's poop as i wish. However if you step into some dog poop at a dog park... well that's probably your own fault. If i where on a farm i wouldn't wear my nicest shoes and i certainly would be checking the ground for dung. The park features 3 areas: the completely empty small / timid dog area - not a lot of people own tiny dogs so its always empty. the main non water area - which is where everyone hangs out during the colder months. and the water area, which is where about 60% of the dogs will be during the summer. The two main areas are huge and pretty cool, my dog digs them. Overall though this dog park rocks, its MASSIVE and has pretty much any feature a puppy could want in a dog park.

Great place for dogs to swim!

Great place for dogs to swim! There's a standard dog play & small dog play area and then a swimming area. There is a fountain for dogs to get water and poop bags to clean up after your dog. Nice off leash dog park.

Great dog park! really open, tons of different areas if your dog is smaller or shy. Really clean and all the tennis balls you could ask for.

I stumbled upon it a few months back while looking for a place to have breakfast with my daughter (ended up at Silver Grill Cafe). After breakfast, we decided to wander around a bit and check out the area. The square is beautiful! In the middle, you'll find a stage that is home to a lot of live music in the evenings, and a fountain/splash pad for the kids (or adults and some dogs I've seen), to run and splash around. They have a piano for the public to play, a fountain to make wishes in, and some interesting local art. There is plenty of seating to sit and watch the kid's play or have a small bite to eat. The fountain/stage are surrounded by a large number of local boutique shops and delicious restaurants. A bonus, a Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop! It is a great area to spend a warm day. At Christmas, all of downtown and old town are lit up with thousands of lights in the trees, on the buildings, etc. It is absolutely stunning! Back to my earlier comment that it truly feels like a Hallmark Christmas movie. They set up Santa's workshop in the middle of the square for kiddo's to meet him, sit on his lap, and take photos. He was such a kind man and was wonderful with the kids. Right next to this, is a skating rink. This unfortunately was disappointing. It's not ice, it's some plastic stuff that is physically impossible to actually skate on. Honestly it felt like a lawsuit waiting to happen with how easy it was to fall. It was uncomfortable and not very fun, we only went two laps and gave up. It was free, so at least we didn't waste any money. It's great for "looks," but don't recommend it. Overall, this is truly one of my favorite places in Fort Collins and I love spending my days here with my daughter.

The water had been up to the rocks near the parking area at the South Bay swim area. In the late summer, it had more of the expected high desert vibe. It's nice that they have a no-wake area for paddle boarders and swimmers. Although it is a reservoir, the ugly wall is not a prominent visual feature like ie: Cherry Creek reservoir. I enjoy how this one is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains. Next time, I am absolutely bringing a paddle board. This time however, I was amused and inspired by one man who was not immediately deterred by the fact that he fell off his again and again. When he finally gave up, he had the same problem with his inner tube. The bathrooms/showers were not disgusting but I wasn't so sure how sanitary those children's diapers were in the water. .

Trails around the reservoir were fun and varied from rocky beaches, to steep grades, to rocks you could boulder or climb. The trails were well kept and they were not crowded.
