It's my wax place in Tucson! The ONLY reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I think the price should be discounted for pre-booking writhing a timeframe! I've been to quite a few other wax parlors and they typically have charged $50-$60 the first time, (Brazilian) then a lower maintenance price ($35-$40) for getting back in within 4-5 weeks, which keeps people loyal and coming back! My friend recommended me to Rowena. I love that her hours are flexible so I was able to come later at night and work around my crazy schedule. Also since it is mid-August and you're supposed to minimize any sweating after, it was better that it was night time. Her website gives good before and after care tips, so I would recommend reading those. If you're new to this like me, Rowena is the sweetest at walking you through everything and making you feel comfortable for the whole process. As for what to wear: think as skimpy as possible. Ladies, you have the option to go topless or even bottomless, depending on your comfort level and how badly you don't want tan lines. You stand in the booth and face different directions as Rowena ensures that you are sprayed evenly. Going home that evening was kind of the funky part because I didn't want to rub/scratch so as to let the tan set as best as possible. The bronzer top layer is very dark and once I got home I looked like an exotic animal. But Rowena had already reassured me that the bronzer will wash off once you shower and not to be alarmed. The next morning after showering and moisturizing I was in awe of my tan. I was the bronziest (word? probably not) I've ever been. In some weird way my color was something I could never achieve by laying out at a pool or beach, yet still looked wonderfully natural. How that worked I'm still trying to figure out myself. I was very much in love with the results and now I get how some people make this process a habit.

One of the things that drew me to them is that they were willing to use only products that contained plant ingredients. I'm unable to use products with synthetic chemicals because my body is very sensitive to them. They make sure to provide you with instructions via text message the day of your appointment, which is very helpful. The studio is now officially a team of two, lead by founder Marissa Duarte and her sister in law Vanessa. The services no longer include nails services. Their focus is entirely on skincare. Vanessa does offer waxing and lash lift/tinting services though! So, if you are looking for a place that is entirely dedicated to facials of various kinds with a holistic approach, this is it! And it's LOVELY. The studio is cozy and super well appointed. I was super relaxed the entire time. I went in for a facial that included gua sha with Vanessa. Vanessa is incredibly sweet and fun to talk to before and after your session. She keeps the session chat free so that you can indulge in all the relaxation possible and I loved it! Another nice aspect to their business is that it is a gratuity free zone, meaning that the pricing on their website is what you pay for and that's it. So you can think of it as the gratuity is included. I've never experienced that before and I must say it's a really nice way to enjoy a treatment.
