Facility is well kept, and usually there is always parking. Today, was the first time ever since there was no parking because everyone was at the pool. Not a knock at all because you can just park on the side. My kid loves the park also, and we just hang out before my games and easily gets the energy out. I cannot complain!

The gym itself is premier--small bleacher section on each half court, beautiful wood floor, square glass backboards, and quality scoreboards. The building has been completely redone. The gym, the restrooms, and the track are magnificent! It looks like they have daily "open gym" times, and the person working at the front desk was extremely helpful. Highly recommended!

I thought the equipment was uniquely different from your standard playground. Lots of creative equipment for sensory play. I wasn't SUPER thrilled to see the gritty sand and water (am I just super OCD or are there actually parents out there that see that at a playground they drove to that says "oh yay! Water and messy sand!"). Oh and the death trap tight rope was also a "yikes" reaction, but my kids stayed away from it, so no biggie. It was fun. I wasn't bothered by the one hour time limit (although, I don't even know if they actually kick people out because we left a little after 11am and I didn't see them trying to clear the area). But.... It was hot and I was ready to leave the park and do not mind having the backing of being able to tell my kids that the park is closing to help get them to leave.

I was…read moreafraid to come here on a hot Saturday thinking I'd lose my 3 year old among the crowds, but surprisingly it wasn't too crowded. My daughter had a blast here. As soon as we pulled out she said "wow...this is watertastic!" Indeed it was "watertastic." We walked right by the big pool, which I was hoping she wouldn't want to go in since a) I didn't want to get in the water myself and b) I don't think it was actually open. Instead she made her way to the playground complete with water squirters, slides, etc. She loved it all with the exception of the bigger tunnel that scared her a bit. Personally I'm anti tunnel slides too since there's likely very dirty inside. Ick. We probably spent the majority of the time in the very shallow wading pool. She had a blast splashing around...and I loved watching from the side of the pool (with my feet in the water). The only issue was that she loved the slide in the wading pool too much and after sliding down it 85 times her tush was a bit sore later that day (from the landing pad). It's truly a perfect place to bring toddlers and I can't wait to bring my 1 1/2 yr old along with next time. And the way it's setup I think I may actually be able to manage 2 kids on my own here, which I can't say of most places outside of my basement. "Watertastic!"

The walking paths are well maintained and make for a relaxing stroll, with plenty of open green space to enjoy along the way. The soccer fields are in great condition and are always a nice feature of the park. There was plenty of room for families to spread out, and the overall park was clean and well cared for. It's a peaceful place to spend an afternoon, whether you're exercising, cheering on a game, or just enjoying the outdoors. Overall, Heritage Park is a fantastic community park with great walking trails, quality soccer fields, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

The concessions were decent, in terms of options and quality, and they do let you bring in coolers if you would rather you player eat a healthier lunch between games. They also serve alcohol, and no tips, they recommend donating to the park district instead. Also, the bathrooms were clean, fully stocked and fully functioning all weekend. This is key to a good ball park. It looks like they have concerts in the park, so there are close restaurants, a nice play ground and more on the grounds which I'm sure is fun for Wheeling residents. I would welcome another tourney here for our team.

I first came here years ago with my wilderness survival summer camp to use the Team Skills Obstacle Course. The course is tucked away in some woods, and features a number of well-designed obstacles that require teamwork to overcome. We've also taken advantage of their fun water park. There are numerous spots fields for baseball, softball, soccer, football, and more. In the winter, they set up an outdoors ice rink (weather permitting). In the other seasons, Northbrook hosts various events and festivals. They have plenty of parking, bathroom facilities, drinking fountains, most of the park has some lighting after sunset (though is technically closed at dusk), and is frequently patrolled by Northbrook's finest.
